    I really hope the Walt Disney Company hasn't thrown these old programs in the trash. I would love to see a Vault Disney Channel, because it's pretty obvious that the teeny bopper culture isn't going away.

    Yes, Hayley Mills played Miss Bliss in an older version of Saved by the Bell. Originally it was going to be about a teacher and her students, Hayley being that teacher. The characters became popular enough that the show was retooled so it would be based around them, and the rest is 80's sitcom history

    I'm sure they were kicking themselves after his success. These types of stories happen all the time. Walt Disney himself was at one point told he lacked imagination. Life is not fair. And don't ever think you're not good enough at drawing. No one is born with the so called, gift. Drawing is a skill which can only be acquired like any other skill - through constant practice. You will get better if you keep at it.

  • @trustfund82

    Actually you can. We do that in gesture drawings. If artists are sitting at the park or airport or any public place, there's a style called gesture drawing. The aim is not to make beautifully rendered drawings but to capture the energy in the object's moving around you (birds, people, cars etc)

    You know one thing that the animators admit Walt could do better than any of them? Pitch the story!
    He was an awesome story man and worked really well in front of a storyboard, watch the video of him acting like the wicked hag from Snow White! Incredible!

    That was a rumor. I found an article discussing that it traced back to some trial where a lady said he was a cross dresser, (Hoover.) Then they put in a movie and everybody believes. No way of knowing, but as I say, typical of the media to believe everything it hears. It may or may not be true.

    They really didn't do the Black Cauldron right.
    There's nothing distinct about it, Gurgi the only memorable character is laid to waste as an after thought only to reappear at the end of the movie.

  • @HotPocketsBoy

    Did you know Walt couldn't draw good? That is why he started his own studio. he went around America hiring animators to work on his films. then he would direct them. he never drew anything on his films. I never got why people would want to work for Disney or any other company instead of creating your own legacy that matches or surpasses the company you desire to work in. But i guess you explained it to me clearly.

  • @Pjiggy
    @Pjiggy 11 років тому +1

    he didn't draw in movies for the reason the gentleman above you mentioned! He was too busy! Walt knew how to get the best out of artists more talented than he. Yes he could draw and animate; he had, but at Walt Disney studios during that golden age of animation where everything was raw and they were still trying to figure out how to do "this amazing thing that is bringing drawings to life", he had to be more focused with the sum of all the parts and not any one particular section.

    I want to be a voice artist for Disney, voice acting look so fun, I have watched enough Disney movies ever since I can remember, and I think I could do it, I am 26 years old, so I have a rich developed voice, I am a singer I started voice lessons age age 5 so, I can speak clearly and sing clearly as well, my teacher was from Juliard so I had the best! WHERE DO I SIGN!
    By the way, I love Hayley Mills, so is so cute, what a beautfiul woman, I love her voice!

    He never drew any drawings in his movies. There are hundreds of people needed to complete a feature movie in the high quality that Disney movies have. He also never directed the movies but he was the visionary who was like the Captain of the ship. That's why Disney movies were so go until he died. After that they were more or less formula productions. Bambi, Snow White, Pinocchio, Jungle Book are still better than the modern ones.

    One fact that's kept secret is this came out when the studio fell on hard times. Sept. 1979 Don Bluth lead 11 eleven staff member off the lot delaying The Fox & the Hound's release followed by a strike by the remaining staff and the resigning of producer Ron Miller and it would take a decade for the company to recoop it loss.

  • @HotPocketsBoy
    @HotPocketsBoy 12 років тому

    Well the doc had real employees that worked with Walt himself who bad mouthed him. Its not really that surprising. I mean there were a LOT of racists back then. It was a different time

  • @evomoralesCO
    @evomoralesCO 11 років тому +1

    That's what I meant when I said he was the visionary. Disney himself didn't have to be the great craftsman. It was enough that he had the ability to know what he tried to achieve and had a vision that most people lack. I have worked for and with some of the best animators in the business. They are superb artists but they lack the vision and storytelling ability that Disney had. That's why all the modern animated features are all very bland. They have terrific artwork but they lack originality.

  • @evomoralesCO
    @evomoralesCO 11 років тому

    I'm sure Disney could draw and animate to some extent and worked on the really early stuff but I don't think he was that great of a craftsman like Ub Iwerks was or later artists like Milt Kahl or Freddy Moore. Like I said, Disney was more the visionary and the Captain of the ship, and he clearly is responsible for the high standard the company has produced. I used to be an animator at Disney too but of course in more recent times long after his death.

  • @Jorbz150

    From the research I've done, it appears a lot of marxists, (and I mean real Marxists,) were upset the Walt was angry at the Communist Party, and it looks like they spread a lot of rumors about him.

  • @Jorbz150

    From what I can tell it has more to do with the stereotypical Republican, which whichever side you are on it is wrong to stereotype the other side as ALL racist. From what I can tell it is mainly the strike people that said Walt was racist, and everybody else didn't.
    Edgar Hoover is another example, a right wing, often assumed racist, assumed to have been anti-King, but there is some reason to believe that fake letters were made between Hoover and his associates.

    I wonder why Hayley Mills didn't get to do the voice of Eilonwy. She kind of sounded like the character. It must have been disappointing for her to go through all that excitement for nothing.
