I had the great pleasure of meeting Mr Davis in 1994 and again in 2000. A great and talented artist and a warm, friendly man. In my years working at Disney, I can honestly say that Marc Davis was the man who inspired me to work at a creative atmosphere like The Walt Disney Sudios. My uncle Neil was a student of Mr. Davis at Chouinard back in the 1940s.
OKay am I the only one who thinks that Snow White dancing is beyond real? Like, sick real? Too good. I guess Walt really had an eye for quality talent.
Marc Davis - just really kept Disney's dream going. He deserves all the recognition he can get. We tried doing our small part in our Pirates of the Caribbean episode of PipersPicksTV.
You know what surprises me? That Marc did not work on Jungle Book! I know he was working on Disneyland at the time, but I have a book that has pictures of some drawings of orangutans that he drew...and I think he could have animated a character like King Louie to a T!
