Speed Level Design - Abandoned Barn - Unreal Engine 4

- Simple scene of an abandoned barn. Could use some finer details like a scarecrow and some crows for that extra eeriness. Let me know what you guys think. Finding appropriate music for this scene was a challenge.

Holy crap, if graphics, lighting, particles, etc look like this now, I can't imagine the future. You won't be able to tell the damn difference between reality, and virtual. Not to mention the virtual reality headsets that will be coming out.

I think you will be able to tell the difference, because in many cases already, games look better than reality. In those games, the weather is never dull, always something spectacular. That's what I'd like to see everywhere a few years from now..
+Potato God Yeah...4K resolution on Oculus Rift, full body tracking, some solution for locomotion, and this type of graphics!!!!!!!! That's the dream.
Well, at first we will are confused and hesitate if it's reality or not, but you quickly see it's not reality. Sometimes, when i walk outdoor, in nature, i see "imperfections" that i would never think of putting in a game. So in my opinion it's very hard to fit to reality.

i know that from how old this video is this is kinda pointless for me to point out, but one major problem is that in practicality you would need some sort of house near the barn, or it wouldn't make sense for the barn to exist in the first place. Every barn you see will have a house somewhere near it, as they are used for storage/ shelter for animals on farms.

Do you remember what assets you used for the tall grass, and the ground and road textures? They are beautiful, and match the style of my game perfectly

+Крипер Крипович в играх нельзя спокойно забивать сцены таким количеством объектов как здесь. Дизайнеры карт идеально знают, что делают и очень часто приходится идти во вред красоте сцены для нормальной оптимизации. Тут всего-лишь один ракурс и можешь много запихивать объектов, т.к. ты двигаться не собираешься. А при дизайне игровых карт все намного сложнее, поверь мне. Он имеет право использовать множество объектов, притом и высокополигональные(так как его интересует определенный ракурс), а при дизайне карт это абсолютно не допустимо.
+Саид-Магомед Муслимов чёрт ну еслиб мощность позволяла то почему бы отдельно у кого есть к примеру титан gtx то для них особо то можно сделать такое ведь сейчас они выдают излишний фпс а чтоб использовать макс можно и такое делать как на видео

Man unreal engine looks way better than Unity. Could you possibly do a level design comparison between the two? Like, make this same barn in Unity with the same models, just to see how it might look different?
+Tristansfn It actually wouldn't look remotely close to the same. Unity rendering should not even be compared to unreal.
Impmaster+ there are a few comparison videos already available but most I seen are outdated. You can still see the difference.
+Maverick Do you think there's a way to make unity rendering look as good as unreal? Like with plugins or something? I heard Ori and the blind forest wrote custom shaders
+Trissy, if there is a visual difference (which I honestly must say there is. I've seen multiple comparison videos and there is a visual difference), then there is a difference. They may be the same on many of the engine wise spectrums, but as long as there is a visual different outcome, then there will remain a difference.

What the assets you used? and i love your videos :D
Some feedback: when you zoom into the stack of hay you can see the texture is not so good. Also at the end you can see the repetitiveness of the water. You may want to break that up a bit.

Some are from Epic Games, some are Unreal Engine 4's Marketplace and some others are from Turbosquid.
+Nexus i also use unity and I'm pretty sure he is paying for them or he is an amazing 3D Modeler. Either way, I've tried to make things like this and it really can't be made with the free assets in the unity asset store.

Hey i have problem i was trying to do a road with edit splines but they wont show up if i switch to place mode or simulation any advice? it just shows like a green outline of it ..
You should put up all of these projects for download (removing paid assets). Can you try a Witcher 3 scene? There are lots of amazing locations and you can choose music from that game itself.
but almost everything is a paid asset
