  • Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) is a popular 1 season anime, likely a top 5 or 10 best watch for many fans with its 8.6 on MyAnimeList. Your Lie in April opens with Kosei, a young pianist, who has lost his ability to "hear the notes;" from past trauma with his mother, he can no longer play the piano he was so adept with. However, he meets Kaori, a violinist who puts a beautiful and emotional new twist on things. She doesn't care about success or score, but instead about emotion and feeling; something she imparts on Kosei as his heart opens, and he and Kaori fall in love. There's a lost of similarities between Kosei's past trauma with his mother and this new love, yet they lead to exceptionally different results. I think the anime decodes exactly why that is, and provides a philosophy on how love can either be awful, or amazing...
    Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is available to watch online with Netflix, Hulu, or Funimation.

    Your Lie in April was the worst anime I ever saw. it cost me a lot of money because it made me buy a piano and now I'm going to learn how to play it because of the emotional trauma that it made me remember.
    10 out of 10 anime

    This anime tugs at the heart. The kid's a piano prodigy but it wasn't sunshine and rainbows. Considering his dying mother went all mother dearest on him. Even beat him with a stick until he bled and stood up for himself. Then years after she passed away he forgives her.

      I really like the small details that show how much she still meant to him beforehand. He showed no hate for her at all at her shrine, just smiled and remembered the good times. Seeing that turn into a coming to terms with not just the good times, but all the times, was so powerful

      @@ProfessorViral true despite all the pain and suffering Saki put her son through she still loved him and he her in return. But the one scene that really made me cry was the hug he had with his aunt figure and her daughter. There's one thing I don't understand. How come his dad didn't do anything to stop Saki from abusing the kid? Seriously I know the guy travels for work but any good parent would stop the other from abusing their child.

    i honestly like to belive that it wasnt kosai that imagined koari in their final duet. i like to imagine that it really was her, she would fight so hard to finish her goals. i could see her showing up to kosai in spirit form just to let him know he had his duet.
    thats why she cried when it was her time to go, the peddles leaving her chest i think resembles the blood loss from the surgery and she couldnt contain herself anymore and had to leave, its why she didnt fully finish the song (imo, idk how the actual song goes so.) it seemed more real than imaganary to me. (which is why i always cry so hard)
    when kosai imagine his mom watching him( i think he did anyway) she was still grey, brighter but dim, didnt move, didnt speak just there.
    koari though saw kosai looking down at the keys again, he saw the world as black and white so she came in to tell him "your looking down again" and make his life colourful, giving them their final duet, and unlike his mother, a goodbye.
    thats the way i see it, if i sound stupid im sorry.

    Havent seen the anime but from the video thinking I should. I didn't understand the passion of instruments at the time till I saw Those Snow White Notes. It seemed in Your Lie In April Kaori and Kousei moved from living for someone else to living with someone else. While yes Kaori dies the memory of her seems to be real enough that she is still with Kousei. It reminds me of a One Piece quote, "When do you think people die? When they are shot through the heart by the bullet of a pistol? No. When they are ravaged by an incurable disease? No. When they drink a soup made from a poisonous mushroom!? No! It’s when… they are forgotten."

    • @ProfessorViral
      @ProfessorViral  2 роки тому +1

      Pretty much. We can live on long after we die with others, and then from there in some part by how they effect others. With that much power, we have to do our best!

    I hated the slapstick but the piano monologues my god they where biblical. I guarantee if you're a Musican with any passion you'll never see your instrument in the same way after the final episode.

    Yo man, I've got a quick question for you. Does continuing to watch anime successively become easier in the sense that the post anime depression is mitigated? I just watched this series and, like others, I find myself ruminating on the various themes and psychology of the characters. Is this healthy in your opinion, does it lead to resolution or closure? Is that why you compose these videos? Thank you for the review, you are brilliant my man.

    • @ProfessorViral
      @ProfessorViral  5 місяців тому +1

      I can't really remember exactly why I started this all, but most commonly I think it's because I was alone with my thoughts when I finished a story that impacted me. I never had people to share what I was thinking or feeling with, and it kept me lonely. While writing about it alone helped, I think sharing it was what mitigated that weighty post-story feeling. The way its healthy is in what you do with that feeling and nothing else, from discussion to expression of your own. In your situation and bounds, what can it motivate you to do?

      @@ProfessorViral Tbh, I was thinking of maybe beginning a channel to discuss themes and etc... of anime and movies that me and my friend would watch, though I haven't the slightest clue how to go about beginning that, structurally. I want to be able to continue to enjoy watching these impressive compositions, but yeah, I want to find a more sustainable and emotionally facilitated way to do it. I think I'll reconsider my aforementioned idea, though, let me test my luck here. Would you have any further advice for me in regards to using a youtube channel as a vehicle for cathartic/emotional expression? You evidently have the insight lol. Also, I already understand a healthy decision is to apply the themes and etc... to better my own life and interaction with others, though is there any particular structured process that you undergo after watching an especially emotional anime to retain important and auspicious concepts, while not ruminating; other than youtube?
