I actually can not say thank you in any way that will actually express my gratitude to you for making this build guide series, I’ve been playing the Reaper version and it’s incredibly good and I’ve actually gotten a bit of praise for my DPS because of your build. I’m looking forward to trying out Scourge now, this has genuinely made my play time a lot more fun while making it less overwhelming as a new player. Thank you.
I just want to say thank you for the series, and your effort in teaching and explaining. Also for showing some viable solo/multiplayer alternatives for different classes, professions and builds. Happy holidays and I wish you all the best! Keep up the good content!
Just want to echo the other posters, I've said it before but you make some of the best informative vids! Thanks for this series. Really makes it easy to get into new builds/characters that I haven't really tried before. Great work!
Once again Vallun. TVM for teaching through explanation of how things work and why. Being trained and educated in Radio Broadcast Production I can say you have the required "mannerisms and the voice" for being successful in instruction .
I would say that in wvw against zergs it is hard to deal the full duration of condition damage, so it could be less viper set and more carrion. What you think?
How do you keep running towards the camera? I can't find any options for that. Your keeping the camera still but 180 running backwards and it looks so smooth.
This build is very solid, and thanks to it I might be able to solo lupicus giganticus ^^ By the way I instantly recognized the Dirge of Cerberus ost, Love It !!!!
I have a question. If you use the trait that pulls downed allies to you when you use shroud 4, do they also get pulled to the sand shades if you're not in range?
Thanks for video wouldn't one the other heals be more reliable the issue with pets taking aoe dmg can really be a big issue for some people so what other heal skill would you use
Hey there i noticed the zerg build on thr website is different then the one in the video? The one on the site doesnt use curses? Which one should i usw
Now that you finished all the elite specs, do you think it would be worth making a series with core builds? I really enjoy these videos but i dont know if the core builds would be viable for all classes.
i think it would be a stuggle, but if you look at the leveling builds video and the free to play video (pve and pvp respective) you could figure out some similarities there
lol what i really came here for was the spvp guide only to find out that scourge is not used there haha xD I remember during the POF release how you just put down the shrouds and pressed all buttons and things blew up.
I've played Teapot's Plaguedoctor build for almost a year now. One of these days, I'll dump the money on a new set of gear for true condi scourge experience. But man, playing Plaguedoctor is pretty bonkers as well. You can hit 24k dps, and heal the whole party with good reliability. I'm not saying you're a druid or anything, but in a tight group, it can easily be more than enough. Scourge is bonkers.
Hey how comes your scourge barriers are so strong without healing power? my barrier is nearly three times weaker than yours on your shade skills, someone please halp!!
Why do I see videos for "one build for all" for Scourge, Reaper and the Harbinger? Which is it? Is it a guide for each elite specialization for all of pve/pvp/wvw? I was thinking the "one for all" would also mean out of all the elite specializations also. I just started my necro and I see tons of videos for each elite saying it is the best for everything. Makes it confusing.
im not sure whos vids youre watching but mine never say it is the best at everything, it claims that it is the best build using only one gear set. It's about convenience and playing the class you want wherever you want
Hey just boosted my Necro. For getting/buying solid gear after reaching lvl 80 which one you recommend to get easily + what attributes on that gear am I looking for? Thanks for info.
Thanks for the video, I wanted to pick your brain about PlagueDoctors armor with this build. I'd assume it's a pass because the damage just isn't really there? But it's way more party friendly?
not really, this build isnt giving out healing to allies much, and isnt giving boons much, vitality isnt too effective as a stat, so its just condition damage. Stay with condition damage and duration at least, so viper or trailblazer
so question you say you use rune of traveler for speed increase and boost in condi duration in video but that rune doesnt do that it gives boon duration
Necro, reaper and scourge was/were my main character for very long time and helped me to do many activities solo. I really enjoyed them but got bored...they are so good and strong to the point where I started to feel bored bcuz of how easy everything is to do with them, scourge especially. But still I really like to play it from time to time and would suggest this class to everybody starting this game.
so yeah staff 4 is 3 conditions transfered per target and dhuumfire on core necro is bugged as in it flips over to the old version of the skill that never got nerfed
essentially because of traits or sigils that trigger on critting or scale with precision, conditions are not inherently good with precision, but some builds can be
It's because regardless of your class and your build you should constantly be auto attacking, DPS rotations usually involve using your most powerful skills, leaving your situational skill out, and weaving in auto attack chains while your skills cool down. In the case of this Scourge build, Vallun uses sigils and traits that proc conditions on ciritcal hit, which makes auto attacks even more important than they usually are.
no because you already have plenty of sustain from parasitic contagion, and the condition duration is overcapped at that point, you get more value from movement speed
I was thinking about using Death magic instead of curses, For a little more survivability, and minions can transfer your conditions for you. But I wasnt exactly sure if that would be too big of a hit to the condi dmg. Any insight or words of wisdom on that? Also, solid video, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that I appreciate the fact that you explain why you choose what you choose. Keep up the great work.
Do you need the DLC to play this? I am about to try the game out but only have the free version ATM, with lost ark its tough trying to get into a new MMO lol.
its a metaphor, think of a snowball rolling down a snowy hill, it gets bigger over time, and the bigger it gets the more space it takes up and more snow it collects. Essentially momentum
Vallum I gotta say, I liked the video a lot. I usually like the videos, but as a scourge player, I was really looking forward to this one. There's 10M videos on how thief works, so basically its like "do whatever you want, thief is viable, just make up your own kit, Thief is so easy to build for, you need to try and fuck it up". Yet, I've noticed there's barely any Scourge PVP builds. So when I got to the part on PVP, only to hear you say, "Don't play Scourge in PVP, its unplayable - ArenaNet made an entire Elite Specialization, that just can't be used in one of its 3 End Game content". I was like, is there anything that can be done for Scourge? IMO Elite Specializations have to be viable for all game modes, You paid money to play that specialization, this is practically "pay to lose?". Could you maybe make some videos on some suggestions for buff or nerfs that could for all classes and specialization for ALL classes and specialization.
the thing is that scourge was meta in pvp not too long ago, but now it isnt and isnt really useful in the current build im using. There really is one build you COULD play, the wells scourge that supports team fights, but still that isnt worth or even that fun in my opinion. I agree they all should be viable but i can only suggest what is possible, and believe me i do suggest buffs and nerfs to the devs. They don't always use my suggestions for better or worse.
@@Vallun I appreciate your videos quite a bit as a new player, getting into PVP. I didn't even know that Scourge was meta, which makes sense why its difficult to build around now. Maybe they'll be a re-balancing of SPECs when EoD Expansion comes around, hopefully. I'm just frustrated, when I see people winning 1v1 by pressing one button when I'm basically playing my keyboard like a piano, you know lol. Well, Thanks anyways, the Series is super helpful, especially for me - a new PVP player. I'll keep an eye out for your videos going forward, if anything chances. Good Job, and thanks for your help with this series.
I'm not trying to be rude here, but you must be fairly new. Scourge was the most dominant thing for a long time until the nerf in August. Most of them just spec into reaper now. Scourge is still good if you are a capable player, but you'll get focused and burst down faster than you can keep your sustain going these days in anything above silver rank. It's just second nature now to want to kill you guys lol. You have to remember that PVP in general is very unbalanced in GW2 and always has been. Even the Devs have no idea how to play it... Every person I play with has the secret "conquer the creator" achievement for absolutely smashing an Anet employee in PVP lol. People have been asking for a revamp for years and it's just clear that they don't know what to do with the game mode because nobody at the company plays it. Those employees left with the other half of the company during the restructure.
I feel that in wvw. It’s just thief’s and rangers all the way 2 hitting u or bursting u in 2 sec in longbows far away. Scraper or Weaver forget on killing them just go away
i just realised guardian and elementalist are the only classes that cant remove boons, meinwhile necro and mesmer can remove boons in every elite spec and core!,funny balancing
Allot of nerfing. Tayerd playing games where the Nerf everything. It's good for 3months then they will Nerf everything. It's called guild wars nerfing. That's what it's it's.

I'm hoping to see an Harbinger build like this after EoD drops. I've been having a blast with your "one build for all gamemodes" builds :P
I really love this series, it gives a lot of insight on mechanics and sinergies for the classes.
Thank you!

Your builds are awesome and unique and I love trying them out.
I can’t wait for you to make EOD especs builds. 🙏🏽
I remember this whole talk about pvp with no scourge because core is too good. That was a great stream and some good thoughts tossed around.
I would say that in wvw against zergs it is hard to deal the full duration of condition damage, so it could be less viper set and more carrion. What you think?
Aquatic Skills? :o
I spent the past 2 days copying this and I love it thank you!
Ok I suck at playing my scourge at WVW and PVE with many enemies. Maybe with your video I can improve my play a bit 😊 thank you for this!
Thanks for the video, this build is awesome for open world! Newb question: how are you able to run backwards instead of backpedaling when pressing S?
i dont run backwards i run forwards with my camera facing backwards, check out my video called "how to get good" and in the camera settings section
How do you keep running towards the camera? I can't find any options for that. Your keeping the camera still but 180 running backwards and it looks so smooth.

Coz lots of conditions proc on crits. I believe he explained that^^

@@Vallun Thanks. I do understand it for this build, I just didn’t understand it in general why they chose to use it as a stat set.
I personally prefer torch off-hand with warhorn in off-set. Definitely higher damage than dagger/staff. Lots of CC with staff though for sure.
Wouldn’t Superior Rune of Tormenting be more optimal?
no because you already have plenty of sustain from parasitic contagion, and the condition duration is overcapped at that point, you get more value from movement speed
