Expedition all the way! Im 173cm tall - can just get both balls of my feet on the ground. Off-road, fire trails, small jumps etc the expedition comes alive! Feels like a big 701e
I'm 6'1" in my socks. I wear my logging boots when I ride which puts me at just under 6'3". My boots are flat on the ground sitting on the Expedition with the seat in the low position. I love the fact that Norden put the fuel low and even split out the catalytic converter from the muffler and moved it low as well. Those two "little touches" likely dropped 20+ pounds below the centerline. I've had my Expedition for about a month, and for me, it's the best bike I've ever had the pleasure to ride. Every time I take it out, I'm simply blown away by just how awesome this bike is.
I love my 2022 Standard. It’s got everything the Expedition has except the heated seat and suspension upgrade. And I don’t need them. My bash plate is steel. The previous owner put it on, so I don’t know the brand. My mirrors are better too - Double Takes. My windscreen is the taller and smoke. I’m 70 years old, 6’1” with a 32” inseam. I’m on my tip toes when I’ve got my shock adjusted all the way up, and I don’t need it any taller. I don’t need a heated seat. I live in Arkansas, USA and Ride all year. If the roads are frozen, I don’t need to be out there anyway. I have a truck now. I’m really happy for you guys who get this beautiful bike. If I were younger and in better shape, I’d buy one. AND an Indian FTR Race Replica too. Hey, I used to race. I’m reliving my youth. 🏍🏍🏍😎😎😎
This motorcycle was my dream, the biggest problem is the price, the color is the most beautiful I've ever seen with a lot of technology. Good videos and great review.
It’s strange that everyone is silent about the problems of the entire line of 790-890 engines on these bikes. After approximately 15,000-30,000 kilometers, camshafts become unusable due to problems with lubrication of the cylinder head
Heck yeah! Got over 2,000 miles on mine and love it! 🏍️💨 Only bummer is I dropped it on the pavement yesterday and scratched it a little. 🤬 And yeah I of course couldn’t agree more that it’s the best looking ADV bike out there. Great video. Appreciate all yours.
Where does it hit first on the side of the belly pan as I want to fit a crash bungs on my sump guards sides. Done the wheels and handle bars already. Yes Motobob, it does pitch a lot and it needs adjusting, still trying to dial it out. Two warranty claims in on mine within 6 weeks. 1/ Main stand paint not bound to metal. Its flaking off. 2/ Main output shaft oil seal weeping. Came down from a KTM 1290 SA as it was too top heavy. This is so much easier to move about in the garage. Tyres offer great road grip and doesn't get out of shape over road centre gravel / grit.
@@glenstandring6927 damn hate to hear that. Praying I can avoid the dealer too much. Have had my te300i tpi in there recently but that’s another video. It’s cool to hear you compare it with 1290. One of if not the biggest reason I was going with 901/890 was the fact it was so famous for being maybe the most balanced and it’s been amazing. It’s carried myself AND my girlfriend all over the mountains of NC and TN in all kinds of conditions and never disappoints. Good luck in the future and be safe! 🏍️💨
I bought the standard this year and couldn’t be happier. I’m a bit taller than you and just wanted that added security of being to get my feet down. Thank you for all your great content, appreciate your work
Know what the difference is, minus cosmetic, between the 901x and the 890R? 0.5 degree rake angle. The husky is a bit slacker, see downhill mountain biking for why that is good. This thing is fantastic off road, so much more comfortable on road than an 890, and has incredible value over the 890R. Coming from an 1190R I am amazed how much better this is off road and on.
Good little run down. I'm just finishing running in my 890 Adventure. I tried the Norden 901 and didn't get on with the geometry, but the 890 Adventure is spot on. I'd like to give the Husky another chance, maybe in a few years once I've got my money's worth out of the KTM. The engine's sweet, plenty powerful enough, and the suspension is top notch. So I anticipate many fun miles before I trade this one in.
If it’s anything like the standard 890/790 seat try sitting on it for 2 hours. It totally sucks. The square edges dig into your posterior and legs. I added the power parts heated seat on my KTM. Not for the heat but because it’s extra padding and more rounded contour makes it more comfortable for long rides.
She's no Desert X, but definitely looks beautiful.. and priced reasonably well. I'm a fan!! Like the little extras and the suspension upgrades!! BUT. I'd probably go with the standard one. Because I'm cheap.
Its either the Expedition or the Desert X as my next ride. Passenger comfort rules out the Ducati. I'm not really in love with the 900/1200 Triumph tigers...just not as exciting. But the Husky and Ducati.....I really want them both. Pricewise Expedition Husky...heartwise its gonna be the Desert X. Cheers!
I've got the standard Norden and I love it! Although the Expedition does appeal to me, I very much prefer the look of the original windshield. Taking into account that the standard model gets discounted considerably from time to time (I got my brand new one below 12k EUR = approximately 10k GBP), I think it is the better deal.
I do not know much about the Norden 901 except KTM bought the brand that originates from my home country years ago. I guess just by looking at the Norden 901 that the KTM 890 Adventure R is still a better bike for more technical of road riding right ? And this Husqvarna is better suited for all around touring perhaps ? They really should make a Norden that is more R specced and like the Adventure R more suited for heavy off road use for those of us that wants to go more off road but do not like the orange color ;P
Just bought one to replace my Tenere 700. Purchased and ridden 200 miles (home from the dealers). Quickshifter from 5-6 does not work, just goes into N. Apparently this is recalibrated at the first service (600 miles). The button that turns on the front side/spotlights does not work. So as I'm almost at 600 miles already, the above is to be looked at then. I'm 6.1ft and the bike is VERY tall!
bummer. mine has been flawless. get the repair manual and look at the process for setting the quickshifter. Its your dealer, they fucked it up and thats why it doesnt work right.
As a former 790R and a current 890R rider, I demand from KTM and Husky to open their eyes and try to increase the fuel tank autonomy by integrating aux tanks, just as the ones from Rade Garage for KTM or the Ducati pro looking ones with Desert X. We’re not all of us weekend warriors and we don’t all of us ride 250 miles per month. Com’on people! Get with the program!
Here in Au an MY22 is about £15,000 GBP ($28,000 AUD) I hate to think what the MY23 will cost. I'd love a Husky but think I'll best wait for the $ depression to pass first.🥺
Do think that is one awesome looking Bike ! Just wonder how good a rear shock not centered works . Wouldn't it start to weaken and overcompensate strength on the left side in time ? Just thinking. Don't really know .
I have been waiting for you to review this bike. I have been taken in by the price and looks over the standard 901. My issue was the height, I am only 2 inches taller than you. Just have to see thanks for upload
875 mm seat height too high? I dream of a 875mm seat height when my 2021 690 ER is supposedly 910mm but actually measures 950 mm at the lowest point! Mind you, maybe Husky are lying too, check it out Motobob!
the only one which might substitute my ktm990Adv...same weirdo look and same unequivocal style of a traveler....the worse is the better the more she wanna ride with you. Great video as always mate!
Yeah that seat height is a deal breaker. At my height of 5’8” it rules this bike out as an option for me. Nice appraisal of the bike though. As an owner of an Insta X3 I can vouch for it being a fantastic action camera for motorcyclists
It’s strange that everyone is silent about the problems of the entire line of 790-890 engines on these bikes. After approximately 15,000-30,000 kilometers, camshafts become unusable due to problems with lubrication of the cylinder head
I loved my 2023 890r but I sold it as I couldn’t bare the sound of the rattly engine. It always sounded broken. Also the wind buffeting was unbearable. Then there was the occasional Immobiliser antenna fault which stopped the bike from starting at the most inconvenient times whilst in the middle of nowhere. I wouldn’t trust it on a solo adventure (expedition)
Is there already a good upper crashbar for this bike ? The Hepco Large one does not fit. Just one crash and it will cost us bigtime. Do not get it why companies do not want to make a good crasbar for it.
This looks great except that dreadful, cheap-looking luggage. It sticks out way too far and flaps around as seen in all videos. Also, why no increase in fuel capacity?
I'd definitely choose the standard version. The Expedition is too tall and the various "improvements" are way too esoteric to have any real-world bennefit offseting the price and complexity increases. Looks to me to be another bike targeting the guys who are mesmerized by paper specifications.
Expedition all the way!

Okay
@@DoubleRuination right!? I had the same thought! 😂
That beard just adds that much more "cool" factor on top. 😂
cool - thanks for your input
I have it for reviewing all week , it's an epic bike for a really good price 😁👌
I got mine around a month ago and I have 1000 miles on it I love it is beautiful purposeful and addictive it is 1000% recommended
This motorcycle was my dream, the biggest problem is the price, the color is the most beautiful I've ever seen with a lot of technology. Good videos and great review.
just buy the bike, you only live once and you’ll have no regrets trust me
I’ve got the Expedition and I love it. Finishing a 9.500 km trip tomorrow.
It’s strange that everyone is silent about the problems of the entire line of 790-890 engines on these bikes. After approximately 15,000-30,000 kilometers, camshafts become unusable due to problems with lubrication of the cylinder head

How did it happen bro?
Slippery road?
Currently sold out in the Uk no more till January at the earliest

Picking mine up tomorrow! 🎉
Standard 901s are heavily discounted at my local dealer in Australia, in anticipation of the new Expedition version arriving very soon. Cheers

Best looking adv motorcycle out there❤
Agreed!
I want that Graphics on the standard model...it looks so delicious...😍😍😍😍

What do you mean there isn’t a lowering kit, when there’s one in the accessories page listed.

Id get a Africa twin if i was in the market for a big heavy ADV, but ill stick with my T7 for now.
Great looking bike! I do think the Desert X is the best looking ADV bike but this one is close second
Great review! By far the best looking bike in the KTM family. With DCT it would be an option for me ;-)
Live 8n Ireland this bike up around 17 k African twins starts at 19 k
DesertX just shades it on looks?
I like the Expedition and chose it but the Desert X is a badass looking and performing bike and couldn’t argue with anyone that likes it better.
Huskvarna 🇸🇪💙💛💙🇸🇪
Between this and an Aprilia Tuareg 660 ?
Time for a Norden 401 soon? That would open up markets like India wide open, with the economies of scale from Bajaj.
Cracking video 👍
the only one which might substitute my ktm990Adv...same weirdo look and same unequivocal style of a traveler....the worse is the better the more she wanna ride with you. Great video as always mate!
Expedition all the way
Using that camera for acriders eye view makes it look like the mirrors are splayed out
Nice
Can't wait to see the Upcoming NUDA 901..😍😍😍😍😍
Very nice

Really like these, but I wonder what the reliability will be like
It will be great
It’s the 890 motor been around for a while
Clutch slipping on mine after 500 miles, first service this week hoping it just needs adjustment. I have enjoyed them 500 miles so far..
Which kriega u were using?
for modern bullshit emissions, prob the best stock exhaust ive ever heard.
I love the expedition
But it’s just to tall so I brought the standard and it’s just the job
Nice Bike :)
why is nobody talking about it looking like a modern 990 ? my question is is it comparable to its bigger better older sister ? 🤣
Is there already a good upper crashbar for this bike ? The Hepco Large one does not fit. Just one crash and it will cost us bigtime. Do not get it why companies do not want to make a good crasbar for it.
Luv da bike .
HATE the sock things they call luggage!
🤮🤮🤮🤮🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
This looks great except that dreadful, cheap-looking luggage. It sticks out way too far and flaps around as seen in all videos. Also, why no increase in fuel capacity?
Too short for the seat height and complaining ..., go buy a Grom!
Nice bike - yes, a bit too high 🤢🤢
For some reason I’m just not feeling the bash plate. I think it just doesn’t do it any favours. Does anyone else feel this way?
Desert X wins in the engine and looks department
I'd definitely choose the standard version. The Expedition is too tall and the various "improvements" are way too esoteric to have any real-world bennefit offseting the price and complexity increases. Looks to me to be another bike targeting the guys who are mesmerized by paper specifications.
Looks like a bike that guys with SSBBW fetish would like.
If it’s just a KTM, then what’s the point?
Does it look like a KTM? Some would say it looks better. Some would disagree. To each their own. But there are obvious differences if you look.
Lol No it’s not.
Cool honest review 🙏
design looks cheap
A review? And not even mention the weight….?!👎
C'mon, it's not that hard to look up - 214.5 kg (without fuel).
