Some good stuff in there, a lot of the content is on shudder since they seem to have produced the doc. I miss deep discount’s bogo sales they used to have often. Stocked up on tv series seasons back in the day.
I ordered this early Jan from deep discount for 160.00 I’ve been buying from them and diabolik dvd for about 2 years. They both are great places to purchase movies. I’ve only watched a couple of these so far but it’s an impressive set.
For movies in sleeves, i had black cases from Amazon that allow space for 4 movies without putting one movie over another. I did this with later released Simpsons DVDs .
I got the a few weeks ago and I’m slowly making my way through it. It’s up there with my Criterion Bergman box set. Some advice for anyone that grabs it. Watch the extended cut of Eyes of Fire (called Crying Blue Sky) as it’s the superior cut of the film. It’s a slightly rougher transfer but still looks great. Also, don’t skip the short films. Some of them are just as long as the feature films and are just as interesting. One of the few releases where I don’t eject the disc until I’ve seen every special feature and short film.
Man, this is a very thoughtful and thorough set. I have never heard of most of these movies. So I would have to watch a few of them first. To decide if this would be something I would buy. But kudos to them for creating this set, and saving these films from oblivion! The few newer folk horror titles I have seen have been a mixed bag. But maybe the older ones are better.
Deep Discount is badass, made some serious scores through there. And I only really had interest in the Woodlands Dark documentary and Eyes Of Fire, the latter is a great movie, the rest of the set looks killer
I almost blind bought this but couldn't make the leap because I had only seen 2 films out the whole set. Since Shudder added loads of films from the set, I can safely say this set is quite a miracle of a release. Lots of great films. Well worth the $$$.
This set does look and sound really cool, but I have never seen or heard of any of these films, so even at the $160 price that's still a lot of money given that fact. However, I have been gradually coming to enjoy the few folk horror films that I have seen so far (such as The Witch, The Wicker Man (original of course lol), and such) so I might enjoy these. I'll probably read some more info about these films before buying though.
Split on buying this one. It does kind of interest me, since ive seen some of those movies in a retrospective dedicated to this film but i hate, hate, hate absolutely hate box cardboard boxsets without trays!
Thanks for sharing. It looks cool. What I am wanting to know is are the movies and special features subtitled? I’ve noticed that a lot of boutique labels tend not to subtitle special features, unless the audio is in a foreign language. If only the movies are subtitled, then I’d find it hard to justify spending over $150 on it.
Know they have been put for awhile but just picked up Dead End Drive In from arrow, and It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad world from Criterion my first buys from both labels, I'm kind of on a tight budget, having just bought a house and many renovation need to be done, but looking forward to checking them out and glad I own an Arrow and Criterion Blu rays now... hopefully can add a bunch more in due time!
Been collecting pretty hard core for the last year or so, used to way back in the day and finally have space for physical media, to this point been a lot of trips to a goodwill near by that is gold and Half Priced books to fill out my collection, but gonna start buying more high end stuff, I do have 20 or so Kinos... not big on most newer films but always on the look out for some old classics. Love the channel BTW
Lots of commentary on every BUT the movies themselves. Wish the reviewer had actually watched them all and then weighed in on the average quality. Most of what was said here is already available on Severin's website.
Hopefully, it's a better set than their "Eurocrypt of Christopher Lee" boxset. Looked great on the shelf, but the movies themselves left much to be desired. I kinda learned my lesson with that. Not buying a pricey set like this unless I've been able to watch at least some of the movies elsewhere first.
Jeff this Video and the Release are awesome. Thank you for your great Work! I am from Austria, Europe. Can u pls tell me what Region code is this Box Set?
The booklet starts with a CRAZY racist poem and my heart sunk, but luckily politics are kept to an absolute bare minimum, even in commentaries where it could run riot such as 'Clearcut'. In my opinion, 'Tilbury' ended up star of the show.
I'm not the biggest horror fan, but it's great to see old movies preserved like this. Also, the box set looks DOPE! Very cool.

One of the best box sets of 2021!! Such a beautiful set
Eyes of Fire is such a dope movie
I ordered this early Jan from deep discount for 160.00 I’ve been buying from them and diabolik dvd for about 2 years. They both are great places to purchase movies. I’ve only watched a couple of these so far but it’s an impressive set.
Such a great set! I've been tackling it since early January. Glad to see you pick it up and highlight this beaut!
Severin has been killin' it lately (pun intended)
WILCZYCA is in polish language. It means she-wolf. :)
For movies in sleeves, i had black cases from Amazon that allow space for 4 movies without putting one movie over another. I did this with later released Simpsons DVDs .
Never understood this type of packaging. Damage to to disc is likely if pulling in and out of the sleeve
It's a beautiful collection! I highly recommend this set.
How many bad films are in this Package?
I got the a few weeks ago and I’m slowly making my way through it. It’s up there with my Criterion Bergman box set.

Thanks Jeff!!
Design of the box is incredible🔥🔥🔥. Looks beautiful
Only $117 right now! Glad I waited lol
Impressive set! Anyone know if VIY is the same scan as Severin's 2019 standalone?
It's the same transfer.
If anyone wants to see the movies, Shudder has a good chunk of them right now.
I got my shipping notification today for this finally, cannot wait!
Man what a set!! You’re certainly getting your moneys worth!
I love Deep Discount, I’ve been using them quite a bit the past few months.
Nice book
Get cd inner bags from Japan to protect discs.
I may need to pick this one up. Did you ever see The Hollow? That's a really good folk horror film.
Do you mean The Hallow? That’s a great one, yes!
This is so cool! I didn't know anything like this existed
That's pretty cool man.
More premium packaging would just lead to a higher price… which I’m glad they didn’t. Also limited to 4,000 copies I believe
@@LennyNero2019 for myself I thought the packaging was premium enough as well.
At 200 views per hour, currently, this is helping both you & the release.
Win/Win

About 5 of the movies can be streamed on Amazon Prime. I'll be streaming them to know if the Box Set is worth buying.
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 Ah, ok cool my brother has Prime, so I guess I can do the same and ask him if I can borrow his account and watch them.
@@SamLovesMovies25 Actually 7: Fatal Exam, Winterbeast,Beyond Dreams Door, dark Waters, Eyes of Fire, Alison's Birthday and A Field in England.
Are some movies double featured on the same disc? If so, which ones?
Dope video
That is so dope ….I’m still saving to buy mine haha
Split on buying this one.
It does kind of interest me, since ive seen some of those movies in a retrospective dedicated to this film but i hate, hate, hate absolutely hate box cardboard boxsets without trays!
I'm surprised A Field in England is in here. Not because it's not folk horror, but it seems so recent compared to many of the others.
Nice set. Unrelated but I just heard about Shooter with Mark Walberg getting a 4k release and would love to see you review it.

Region free? I'd like to know because I live in Spain. Thank you.
Isn’t this a collection on Shudder? I saw an ad for the documentary
Now I just need Celia on a single disc blu.

The Lee movies are easily found online,to check out before you buy
De Dødes Tjern is the best one!
Jeff this Video and the Release are awesome. Thank you for your great Work! I am from Austria, Europe. Can u pls tell me what Region code is this Box Set?
This set is going to be $110 during the mid year sale!
Would this be something which will come down in price at some point? Or is it something which may run out and disappear quickly?
It’s limited to 4,000 copies. It will disappear. Severin runs limited print runs.
The booklet starts with a CRAZY racist poem and my heart sunk, but luckily politics are kept to an absolute bare minimum, even in commentaries where it could run riot such as 'Clearcut'.

I lol'd when you said the white people
That is one expensive box set!
not a fan of those cheap cardboard sleeves. For that kind of money I'd expect something better.
