What is most tragic is the story about the death of the young actor who played Mark Sway. His life and circumstances of his death are incredibly sad. And he was a newcomer, no training, beat out hundreds of other actors = did an amazing job in the role. He was raised by his grandma and lived in a trailer park when he got this role. So sad that he ended up going down the wrong road, without a dad and using drugs. Child actors never seem to get the protection and supervision they need ;-(
@@bobbyheenan4061 Reducing a human being to an illness speaks volumes of yourself. You must be proud, mr. perfection. Brad Renfro was an actor, respected by his peers, loved by many people around the world, he worked hard since he was a child, having a very disfunctional family he did his best, he was a compasionate man who befriended anyone easily because he was kind and fun, humble and open hearted. But of course, you are very limited to your petty thinking.
You need to have a strong back up and support system if you want to survive in Hollywood, especially as child actor or child star. He's not the only one who couldn't survive in Hollywood. Especially after Epstein, Wenstein, and Diddy were exposed.
The part when Mark realizes that his lawyer has a dark past and he feels betrayed in a way, because his father left him and his brother for the same addictions... His expression is too real, what a natural acting! He was a kid and still he had already the enormous talent to be in the same level of the other much older actors.
My father was watching this movie a couple of years ago. I wasn't paying attention to it. He asked me to come by and watch the movie with him, so I did. He then said, who is that kid? He's playing his roll so uncredebly well?! I didn't know the movie, I didn't know the kid, but continued watching with him. I'd have to agree, the kid was playing his roll superbly well. I checked the movie as well as him out and it turned out he died at young age. It made me feel sad, I would have loved to see this kid becoming a superstar, if it wasn't for my father ( and my father rarely gives compliments like that ) I would have never heard about him at all.
Very good film to watch by the late Joel Schumacher he got my favourite actress in it she was Susan sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones was great in it as well also a great supporting cast as well and a very good script as well
Karsten Brad Renfro is personally one of my favorite actors. I thought he was great in this movie. He was incredible in Bully. Go watch that movie it’s based on a true story it came out in 2001 it’s about this group of young people who get together and murder a man named Bobby Kent. It’s based on the actual 1993 Bobby Kent murder that took place in Hollywood Florida.
Never saw this movie. Just now reading the book. Opening scene better in book ( more suspense - they compressed for the screen ). Susan Sarandon great acting, Tommy Lee Jones so good in these roles where you hate/love him . On chapter 16 now .
@@bdjoh011 he always looked older than his real age and that was one of the factors that people always sexualized him. In Apt Pupil he filmed when he was 14 and he looked like 18 years old.
wtf shes gonna sue those lawyers because those lawyers questioned Mark illegally yet.........Mark just fired her illegally..........she aint gonna sue Mark???
Bekkah W ….. Reggie had short grey hair with bangs, too. Her doctor husband traded for a trophy wife . Put her in depression, so took her almost ten years to get a JD .
I noticed the major movie mistake regarding Reggie's law career. In the office Rev. Roy states Reggie's been practicing law for 2 yrs, when he called her an ammatuer. During the chat with Mark at her home, Reggie explains her life story as being a stay at home housewife and mother to her kids. Then her husband traded her in for a younger model. She tells Mark she's been sober for 3 yrs. She stated she started drinking after the divorce when she lost her kids. She said THAT was when she got sober and put herself through law school. Do the math then. If she's been sober for three years, and been practicing law for 2 of those years, then she had to have put herself entirely through law school and passed the bar in only ONE YEAR'S TIME. Now, I've never been to law school myself, but I could have sworn it takes 4 to 8 years to become a lawyer, as with any major profession that involves a serious college degree.
All these because of one man's suicide ,and a kid being naive removing the hose from the car ,got him caught . Stranger the kid was trying to save a unknown stranger. Who was a serious criminal attorney

Kid looks older than 11. Looks more like 13-15.
He actually was 11. Brad renfro was born in 1982 and the movie was filmed in 1993.

Did anyone catch, "Josh linemen" from the west wing as just another lawyer in the pack with the federal prosecutor?!
Lyman
What a shame that Brad Renfro got caught up in the Hollywood grinder.
I prefer the book
The book can’t be beat, agreed! Sarandon and Jones are great to look at - such beauty/handsomeness.

2:51 When you find out Susan Sarandon supports Palestine.
Who cares either way, these are characters in movies
There are some pretty bad actors in this movie if you ask me. It feels like theater acting.
