I enjoy this 👍peace and love from Romania 🇷🇴🇷🇴🇷🇴
One of my favorite Romanian vegetables was Lovage greens, or Leustean. It's like celery greens, and in the same botanical family, but it had an absolutely heavenly aroma. I loved Leustean so much that I would often eat the greens raw; the traditional way is to sprinkle some chopped Leustean on a ciorba or soup and let the heavenly aroma waft through the air, and into your nose and mouth as you ate it. Catina or Sea Buckthorn berries was my herbal vitamin supplement in a superberry. I would go to a Romanian herb store, get several boxes of dried Catina berries, grind them up into a powder in an electric coffee grinder, and mix it with honey - Romania has the best honey - and make a delicious berry vitamin jam from it. But my absolute favorite Romanian food was Salata de Vinete, or Romanian eggplant salad - absolutely heavenly! As you can see, I am an herbalist and also more vegetarian in my dietary habits than most of the young people presenting on this channel.
The wild mushrooms will blow your mind aswell,Romania have plenty of them +thousand of medicinal plants..wich grow free in the forest
@@copilashuuuu Sorry, I can't eat mushrooms - they upset the probiotic flora in my intestines and give me diarrhea for three days.
Da de ceapa?
You should try salată de ardei copți. It's what Westerners actually understand as salad - something you eat with roasted/grilled/fried meat or other fatty/heavy foods. It is IMO the absolutely best such salad-salad, not spread-salad, made in Romania.
thank you man speaking good for my country Romania..Greating from Romania and i am christian too
hai ca ai facut engleza la scoala daca e ceva
Thank you for your kind sweet words about romanian food. My husband doesn't know how lucky he is, as I make him all of those dishes 😁 He is Scottish. Loved your video and watched it with my husband so I can point out that I'm not the only one that goes on about how good our food is 😂
Super cute when you say "Glorious" .. and yep.. the bread is GLORIOUS. Man I miss Romania 😭

Haha as a Romanian living in US, the only bread I like it’s ciabatta or sourdough. But I stopped eating bread prey much:)
Dc nu ți-ai făcut propria pâine în casa?
@@SXsoft99 Până și făina, în SUA, dacă nu ești atent ce cumperi, riști să fie "îmbunătățită" cu fructoză. E complicat cu mâncarea în SUA. Mi-a povestit un român emigrat acolo că-n prima lună acolo cum cumpăra mâncarea așa o arunca - când o gusta i se părea că-i stricată.
Man watching these videos as a romanian make my day
Hes mesmerized by our food , and since I'm living abroad for the past 10 years , seeing this makes me miss home more. ..
Romania is NOT a failed society.
AS a romanian I am happy you like the romanian food. Thanks you for promote Romania
It's lovely to hear good talk so nicely of our food. I hope you had a great time here. :)
Mici is not typically made out of pork. We switch to pork as they are cheaper that way. Normally, mici is a mix of veel muscle, neck & lamb meat, plus seasonings.
Bro,the best bread is home made bread just fresh out of the oven.
hold up... the Russian borscht is basically a broth in itself and it's made with beet root, whereas our Romanian "bors" is actually a macerate of a certain type of cereal (I don't know the English word for it)... also, sometimes the "ciorba" can be soured up with "moare de varza" aka the brine in which you pickled the cabbage that we use for sarmale, aka stuffed cabbage rolls, but that can also make the food saltier too so... bors for the win :D also.. the mici are similar to the burgers, not the same, similar, but we shape them like sausage because it's easier for scooping the mustard LOL , and the cozonac, well that's basically sweet bread or brioche, but the recipe varies from region to region, which is why I'm shocked to hear that there are people who take days to make them when the most time spent on them should be the raising of the dough... on this one, the best recipe I tried was from the Moldova region, the dough's made with lots of egg yolks and butter and other rich stuff, but boy is that thing fluffy and a little flaky and I'm not even gonna talk about the aroma 'cause I'm already drooling.
Eu sunt Româncă și mă mir cum pot Americanii să fie atât de admirați de mâncarea noastră

Im from Romania the sarmale good food
If we have a meal and we have mămăligă we dont need bread anymore
mici are not sausages, we make sausages too named "cârnați"

Borș is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT of Russian borsh.
I am Romanian from Moldova region, Neamt county and live in Maramures and been to Kharkov, pretty much Russia and their borsh is not my borsh. Mine is very sour. Theirs is sweet
@@frecmenta5114 i think that so..but they only in moldova the sour the ciorba, and thats why he said its russian borsh because whe have so much cultures in our country
Indeed, but it is amazingly tasty.
@@TheWallachian868 Learn (a lot) more English. There is not only in Moldova that the soups are soured. When one sees/hears/orders "ciorbă" (borş, z(e)ama), expects it to be more or less sour or have the possibility to sour it himself. In the case of "supă" no way, just the opposite.
@@ppn194 nu te ambala amice ;)..crescut pe langa Husi si ciorbele majoritatea se acresc.."Hai la Bors" se spunea de mult. Peace
Fun fact : one of the most comon things that native romanians miss after moving out of the country is...food!
Thanks for this video. It really means a lot. Sarmale is a traditional dish that varies by the zone here. Can be done with fresh cabbage, pickled cabbage or vine leaves. The meat, together with the rice, onion, garlic and condiments, can be a mixture of pork, beef, and/or lamb, again, depending of the zone. Many use only pork but usually it's made from minced pork & beef. Great food, great post, thank you!
Mici cu muștar is a new food brand in romania and this food is very popular in summer season! Lmao
absolutely not NEW.. what are u talking about?
This brand is new in extern zone of romania lol!
@@maxzation what "extern" zone? name it Mark

Hi. I from Romania
For sarmales, sausages or other dishes to come out good, you have to buy meat from small producers who raise animals with natural food. There are specialized stores that sell such meat or meat dishes. When you eat something like that you will cross the border of heaven.
Great to see an expat Romanian going back to his own roots speaking with appreciation about his cultural heritage
Do you know haw God I feel wen I hear you thank you I love americans people for your language for your hard for your sense of humor God bless America with love from Romania

Its realy food !
Natural food!
Romanian borscht is made from fermented bran, with maize and lovage leaves, it has nothing in common with Russian borscht
Love the romanian food. That is the way to live...enjoy
The secret ingredient, it's the one that's makes the food to be, So Delicious !
I tought that i was thinking that romanian food is the best just because im Romanian, but nah, everything has a different taste here!
The principals ingredient of make( sarmale) is 20 or 30 onion .
I guess you only went to the southern part of Romania. I wish you'd tasted some Transylvanian soup as well.
Yeah, we don’t really use borscht, but we have other methods of making the ciorba sour. And I think it’s richer.
The boy is wonderful!
I like romanian soup and I come from romania
Oh yeah - and the borsht - I have problems with the probiotic flora in my intestines, but instead of taking probiotic supplements when I was in Romania, I just drank a little borsht in the morning, and that supplied all the probiotic bacteria my intestines needed.
Yes! That's the Romanian food, absolutely amazing !The bread is the real thing, I'm sure, how God intended to be!
everyone first until they refresh
We have multiple kinds of bread you taste a bread homemade in Ardeal ?
Gotta pull out the box of Romanian recipes I've had for the last 30 years...
It would be nice if there was more kosher stores there though. It's really hard to find kosher products anywhere with the exceptions of the capital and some other town near it...
Well, when you have 99% of the population that doesn't eat kosher, you can't expect to find too many kosher products. It's the law of supply and demand.
And if you know what products are kosher, you can just go to the market and buy them. Even if they are not in stores that specialize in kosher products only, we usually sell them as well
Boil sarmale with some pieces of smoked pork meat (bones included) between them. It will add that smokey baconey flavour into everything and the meat itself will just melt off the bone and into your mouth.
Im romanian and i love that other countrys are trying to do sarmale and mici lol
... I had to stop at 1:16; the young gentleman was teasing my taste buds to an unbearable degree....
Im a romanian and j now the perfect sarmale recipi
🇷🇴🍷🇬🇧cheers prietene😄
🤗🤗🤗🤗
I grew up Romanian and still don't have any idea what borscht tastes like. We're a Latin country, not a Slavic one.
Did you taste "mici" ?
Ist the best food ❤🇦🇩
I think any food compared to the one they eat in America is good
3:20 its not sausage is like a distant relative to the sarmale meat
Turkish delight? Wut is that? Does he mean rahat?
Pig ear and pig feet are both soul food.
You find on youtube how to cook that. Is simple, only to wish.
The best Romanian food it's sarmale cu paine and mici cu paine and mustar
Dar papanași, Ciolan cu fasole sau "suc" ați gustat?
Sausages are sausages, and ,,mici,, in translation means small.
Little-și 😁

Usually bread is not that sweet. Maybe it was not bread, probably un foietaj or something.
Pig ear is good :D

Yes, you are.
Csorba is not Romanian, its Székely... probably you were in Transylvania, that is why all your food resembles to the Székely and Csángó people, who are not Romanians...
poate a mancat omul cioarba de peste in Delta ,
Ciorba is Romanians, they make it everywhere in romania even in Transilvania which is also part of Romania :)
@@muri4298 just like you can get a hamburger everywhere, yet it won't be a traditional food in most countries. csorba is a Székely originated food. Transylvania now maybe part of Romania, but most of its citizens are not Romanians and they rather be sovereign, then be a part of it. Transilvania is first Transylvania, then Hungary. but not Romania. Just like Székelys and Csángós are Székely and Csángó at first, then they are Hungarians. And they not Romanians. At least not by heart.
Dude, we call it ciorba. I think he had ciorba, not csorba. He was talking about Romanians. :))))
