"curent" (the air flow) is NOT a superstition but a fact (the same concept can be found in TCM). Some people are more sensitive than others, and can get headaches or neuralgias.. something like the 'Chinese water drop': one water drop won't hurt you, but for a prolonged period of time it turns into a torture.

So, if you stay in that strong wind, it means you stay in curent. And what they feel it;s true, this really happens. Other people may fell their head hurts, which is also true, exposing yourself on a strong wind, that can otherwise be avoided may affect some people. Many old people put cotton wadding in ears so they won't be affected by this wind. Now for this people this is not supersition, they do fell pain for exposing to "curent". I never heard of being infertile or affecting your spirituallity in any way. And i lived and travel in many places in Romania.

@@borr.3349 it’s a word for word translation of the Romanian expression “a sta in curent” it’s like when there a draft and you’re sitting (or standing for that matter but nobody just stands there) in its way. It’s hard to explain. I’m not crazy
One response could be that brains are a bit fucky, and sometimes they make you feel things you don't really feel to protect you, ie: that your head hurts when the windows of the car are open, not because they are open, but because your brain has been fed that something bad is supposed to happen, so it simply makes up the feeling since it thinks "I must just not be feeling it so let me make it myself so they know something bad is happening" instead of "I'm not feeling anything, so nothing is happening". Something similar like this happened a good while ago in a school in the US actually where the students were told that some gas pipe broke and was leaking into the school by someone, and this spread to everyone but they still went to school. Since their brains thought now that there was gas building up in the school, it started simulating the feeling of inhaling bad gasses which resulted in many from the school going to the hospital with symptoms akin to gas inhalation but being found that they'd inhaled nothing, simply because the brain *thought* it was inhaling gas and when it saw it didn't feel anything it instead simulated the feeling of inhaling gas to make sure the person knew they "were inhaling gas" so they'd get out of there.
I am from Romania but I find this video interesting even for me 😀 "Piftie" how it is call in south of Romania or "Răcituri" up north is made of pig ears , tail and the legs boiled with garlic and leaved over night in cold temperature then become like gelatin with garlic flavour and pises of meat in it. Love it ❤❤❤

@@micro6555 Si eu sunt roman. First of all, i was also imagining an exaggerated response, for comedic purpose. Secondly, I've had similar interactions, the worst ones being in trains. "Curent" truly is the root of all evil for some people.
I’m from Ploiești and the girl at the end was spot on when she talked about the major road being closed off on Sundays. It’s actually the main boulevard and it’s pretty much the “mainest” road we have and it is closed during summer mainly for kids to play. We also host different festivals there.
Piftie is basically refrigerated concentrated (usually) pork broth. You put in it meat and sometimes veggies but you can also eat is simple. And is also boiled with garlic (pretty important).
I agree to disagree...Hungarians and Germans do it better, they at least use mostly salt and condiments..not gelfix (inside reference, but tbh can’t remember the name of the actual one supposed for pickling)
@@SmileBulina it really depends on the region..I’m from the western sides of Romania and have some relatives in the northern regions; and I can definitely see a difference...I don’t know if it’s only for their preservatives choices (it’s not gelfix but a similar dr.oetker /knockoff one). I’m not saying there might be people in Ro that can do it awesomely, but I feel that percentage doesn’t exceed 10. However the choices’ creativity is another story.
I'm half Romanian and live in Turkey so I've tasted pickles in both countries. They don't have gogoşari murați in Turkey but besides gogoşari they pickle everything here (even eggs, all kinds of fruit and vegetables) and the pickles are amazing. They also drink pickle juice. My favorite is şalgam (pickled turnip or purple carrot juice)
Yeah... People should try bread with apples, it's interesting, sometimes it feels like you eat simple biscuits with apple. I've seen my dad eating watermelon with bread, but I don't think I am gonna try that.
"Curent", well ma dude, curent is a cold stream of air that is much colder than the rest of your body, if you experience it for long you can preety much get a cold, a headache or muscle cramps on your neck and shoulder muscles if you're an older person, yes is medically proven, yes i'm a romanian, i love how you've explained your opinions guys, i hope you've enjoyed your stay.
Piftie is like a terrine :). Its gellatine is resulted from boiling the leftover pork parts a long time which results in bone broth(very rich in collagen- which makes it gelly). You should try Tobă- its the meatier version
The 2nd guy mentioned infertility twice, one for 'curent' and one for women sitting on the ground and istg i've never heard that in my life and I'm born & raised in Ro 😂 'Curent' is literally 'draft', and the sitting on the floor thing is bc floors are cold and for both cases the cold from either the airflow or the floor can affect one's body. Cause a cold, or aches or whatever. It mAy affect ovaries since they're placed in the lower part of the body, but it's not a given. Infertility's such a dramatic explanation and I'm wondering if he rlly remembers right or just heard it once in a certain situation and generalized it.
I only came here to see if anyone in the comments or in the video mentions hungary or hungarian things but I did not regreted watching this video and also I am hungarian and I have some friends who lives in Romania
“Curent” air breeze. As a kid i’ve been told that it will make you body parts twist in un-natural directions if you stay in it for too long 😆 they literaly used to say this to kids. Thankfully not anymore...
🤣 🤣 Ahahaha! So true! I really love the way you all explain these cultural aspects. It's just so relatable and hilarious 😂😂 👍 Great job! The "Piftie" also scares me. We also eat pork testicles called "fudulii" and pork skin "șorici". We also prepare a weird soup for Easter which is made with some lamb body parts and organs. Every Romanian family has that member who would love to eat that soup in which you'll see the head of that lamb, its eyes and tongue and its small intestines. This soup is usually served in a clay bowl called "strachină". Some Romanians not only eat "ciorbă de burtă" (stomach soup) but also "ciorbă de limbi" (cow tongues soup). Everyone who has lived in the countryside has once played with the "bășica porcului" (pork bladder) when he or she was a toddler thinking that was a ballon and has at least once "climbed" on a burnt pork which has been maliciously murdered "because that's the tradition". Still don't know how we are not traumatized after such events. I think we are witches or sth. Even our aunties and grandmothers know some plant mixes that are good for.... various things. Yep, probably we are witches 🧙♀️

Not Romanian but prefer Garlic bread with my Spaghetti while my step father just want a piece of bread with butter.
Here, in Romania, if you accidentally break a plate, a glass or a cup it means you broke the bad luck in the house
If curent doesn’t exist, how come my head hurts really bad when I sit in it??
and I’m not even joking
@@borr.3349 it’s a word for word translation of the Romanian expression “a sta in curent” it’s like when there a draft and you’re sitting (or standing for that matter but nobody just stands there) in its way. It’s hard to explain. I’m not crazy
There’s * sorry I keep making errors
same! :D
Since their brains thought now that there was gas building up in the school, it started simulating the feeling of inhaling bad gasses which resulted in many from the school going to the hospital with symptoms akin to gas inhalation but being found that they'd inhaled nothing, simply because the brain *thought* it was inhaling gas and when it saw it didn't feel anything it instead simulated the feeling of inhaling gas to make sure the person knew they "were inhaling gas" so they'd get out of there.
e un efect nocebo. Durerea e reală, atâta ca e produsa de propriul creier.
I am from Romania but I find this video interesting even for me 😀
"Piftie" how it is call in south of Romania or "Răcituri" up north is made of pig ears , tail and the legs boiled with garlic and leaved over night in cold temperature then become like gelatin with garlic flavour and pises of meat in it. Love it ❤❤❤
I heard its very good with vinegar
You guys... You're awesome! A really really big THANK YOU for all this kind words. I don't wanna make a big fuss over it, but almost, all the time, I don't hear kind words about our country, and it feels so good, and so refreshing, to hear you talking so sweet ( and a bit funny) about my country. Really melted my heart. And the way you pronounced romanian words, in the cutest, and the funnyest way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
9:12 I can imagine it, *opens window* "YOU MONSTER! YOU KILLED US ALL!"
no, that guy is exaggerating
I'm from romania
@@micro6555 Si eu sunt roman. First of all, i was also imagining an exaggerated response, for comedic purpose. Secondly, I've had similar interactions, the worst ones being in trains. "Curent" truly is the root of all evil for some people.

Thats actually pretty accurate, especially the first guy got his information very accurate.
now just wait until they hear about the government
Hai sa nu intram in politica plus ca nu suntem singurii cu un sistem corupt

Like any other country, huh?😒
Y’all, can we please take a moment to appreciate how he pronounced those romanian words? He’s nailing it🥺💜 You’re cool dude😌🔥
mai ales treaba cu tăiatul porcului. Genial !
I’m from Ploiești and the girl at the end was spot on when she talked about the major road being closed off on Sundays. It’s actually the main boulevard and it’s pretty much the “mainest” road we have and it is closed during summer mainly for kids to play. We also host different festivals there.
You should try "jumări" is season for that :)))
In Romania I eat people with bread
Asa goala? Ia cu paine
Mai pune o felie de paine 😌
Gol?? Ia cu olecutza mai multa paine
🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞
si oameni pe care ii mananc cu paine mananca oaine in acelasi timp
Fun Fact : Eşti român şi ai venit să vezi ce zic alții despre țara ta :))
Piftie is basically refrigerated concentrated (usually) pork broth. You put in it meat and sometimes veggies but you can also eat is simple. And is also boiled with garlic (pretty important).
we even have a joke where we tell people to eat bread with bread
Ia cu pită :)))
Paine cu mamaliga 😂
bread with a loaf
I've lost it at "am taiat un porc". Great video, thank you!
In Romania, if you eat the edges of the bread, it is said that you will get along with your mother-in-law.
omg this guy spent a lot of time in Romania his pronunciation is spot on even the accent is proper
You can't find pickles like in Romania like nowhere!
I had some in germany and is not even near our pickles!
The Romanian pickles are without vinegar. This is the good part.
"we are not savages we are from European Union!" :)))
you forgot about the legendary sertar with pungi
,,They eat bread with everything '' hai ca ne stie lumea :))
-Bună ziua, aveți pâine

-Deloc?
Yeah... People should try bread with apples, it's interesting, sometimes it feels like you eat simple biscuits with apple. I've seen my dad eating watermelon with bread, but I don't think I am gonna try that.
Hot bread with watermelon is so good!
Dudeeeee, incearca o data in viata pepene cu branza si cu paine. It’ll blow your freaking mind
Thank you for promoting my country in your special way!🇷🇴❤🙏
@John Doe The bread is sacred in my country, so I accept gladly your invitation.
I am from Romania and never have I ever heard of carbonated carrot juice.

Man the curent is real 😌
Piftie is like a terrine :). Its gellatine is resulted from boiling the leftover pork parts a long time which results in bone broth(very rich in collagen- which makes it gelly). You should try Tobă- its the meatier version
Amandoua sunt dezgustatoare =))

Well this is an old video, we don't have any stray dogs any more, now we have cats🤣
Where and when the dogs disappeared?
The 2nd guy mentioned infertility twice, one for 'curent' and one for women sitting on the ground and istg i've never heard that in my life and I'm born & raised in Ro 😂
'Curent' is literally 'draft', and the sitting on the floor thing is bc floors are cold and for both cases the cold from either the airflow or the floor can affect one's body. Cause a cold, or aches or whatever. It mAy affect ovaries since they're placed in the lower part of the body, but it's not a given. Infertility's such a dramatic explanation and I'm wondering if he rlly remembers right or just heard it once in a certain situation and generalized it.
He was a bit vague and confused as if he wasn't sure what he heard about it.
"Piftie" is also called "Racitura" in some parts of Romania. Basically "racitura" translates as "something cold".
We have piftie in Croatia as well. Wr call it "haldetina" and you either love it or vomit it :)
I only came here to see if anyone in the comments or in the video mentions hungary or hungarian things
but I did not regreted watching this video
and also I am hungarian and I have some friends who lives in Romania
I'm Romanian from Hunedoara and everything they say is 100%
Same :o
“Curent” air breeze.
As a kid i’ve been told that it will make you body parts twist in un-natural directions if you stay in it for too long 😆 they literaly used to say this to kids. Thankfully not anymore...
Food wise, people here sometimes tend to east grapes and watermelons with bread.
And it's amazing.
Yeah my grandpa does 😂

Funky enough,I learned this from my grandma :)
Try bread and cheese with watermelon. Fantastic.
Do you know what Romanians did when they found out spaghetti? They ate it with bread....joke of course
🤣 🤣 Ahahaha! So true!
I really love the way you all explain these cultural aspects. It's just so relatable and hilarious 😂😂 👍
Great job!
Speak for yourself...😀....
You have to try “Caltabos”❤️ this is a real treat:), if you are “afraid” of “Piftie”, this is the best...I eat it with “mujdei”:))) and of course “bread”😂😂😂yummy:)))
