Gorguts have really evolved from when I first heard them in the 90s. From atmospheric death metal then to Schoenberg with a distortion pedal now. Such a great band!
@@yelawolf294 nah my sons and daughters, I listen to a lot of styles inside metal and many genres of music. You making assumptions about me from a single comment is what's ignorant and narrow-minded. 95% of new tech death is soulless garbage with no fresh elements, no progression, no stakes and no atmosphere. Good new tech death bands do exist however: Ulcerate (doombringing, opressive atmosphere), Portal (theatricality, great use of noise and ambience) and Artificial Brain (prog tech death with actual structure, mood and melodies) and a few other bands, so shut the fuck up
Well my friend, the bassist on this video is the same who uses to play with beyond the creation, and he play the freetless bass... And he knows to play wanky wonky as you say, so what is you point?
The only reason I'm upset about the editing is because I'm trying to learn this song on guitar and it's hard to see, haha. Completely appropriate for the song though, well done. The kind of filming I DO hate are recorded concerts at big venues when they focus on the bass player's right hand during guitar solos and other such idiocy.
thanks for being so kind to leave that comment! yes - it is nothing like a "instructional video" but more like a music video capturing the frenzy of Gorguts' music. and I totally agree with those clips that aren't edited by a musician....
@@drumtalkofficial those 3 alone can keep an individual occupied for life. They need time to absorb. Although, if possible, please keep them coming. Gorguts do not get enough credit for their groundbreaking work.
I almost find it hard to believe that Patrice can play like that live. Its just unbelievable. The precision is insane. Its beyond insane, he's a drum machine. Seriously, try and tap your fingers to the kicks with this song. Good luck.
This bassist is obviously very capable, but I still prefer Colin's playing and style in this band. He's more tasteful somehow if that is something you could call his playing. He is just so clean and precise, while this guy (Forest?) is a machine but is a bit more wild. Oh BTW this is fucking awesome these guys are old as shit and this song hits harder than ever. K bye
I was the FOH engineer for them on this tour and mixed this show. I take full responsibility for the lack of guitars in the first half of the song. There is some fader riding necessary in mixing Gorguts and I messed this one up. My apologies to them, because they are all amazing people.
Even if for other people with different thoughts said that our metal it's just noise remembre the plan is transport you in other astral view of life with actor and protagonist
Ill never understand whats so hard about keeping a camera still. Its not a fucking artsy indie movie with grand sweeping shots of waterfalls and shit. Just set up the camera and stop moving.
It's pretty simple -- I'm both a filmmaker and a musician and I consider what I do as "art(sy)" -- so everything I do whether it's filming or editing is my interpretation of what happens in front of the lens/in the frame. If a song appears to be hectic in it's nature I react differently than when it's straight or calm or whatever. I'm not a service provider, but this is my creative output -- so if you don't like it, don't watch my videos but look for stiff tripod material.
I'm so utterly sorry that you don't enjoy my editing. I wish I've done a better job to please you more. But what can I say -- life is so unfair, right?
Unfair, indeed, so much so that we're subject to criticism on the internet. Don't take it to heart, friend. I apologize for my strong language. The footage, itself, is great and you can consider the criticisms regarding the editing constructively or not in the future. Have a great day!
thx mate. I don't mind criticism at all, but cursing always waters down any critique. as for my editing in this one? well, it's a matter of taste of course. I feel the music is frantic, nervous and utterly crazy. so my editing transports exactly how I witness Gorgut's song. But I can understand that, while the editing is not bad in the sense of being out of sync or not on the beat, for you the experience of an already hectic song gets even more stressful. this is not for everyone for sure.
Fair enough. I suppose it's a matter of preference over wanting to simply observe a performance versus creative video editing accompanying their music. I appreciate your role in this footage being captured/released at all. Cheers!

You know the bass is loud when you can hear it through cell phone speakers.

extremely nuts robot of doom

I only hear the bass where's the guitar tracks?
multitrack recording failed - this is a pimped soundboard mix
@drumtalk I feel your pain. I just filmed and recorded audio of a band this past weekend and the audio issues have been a nightmare.

yes it is. I guess he had some other commitements on that tour, so Forest stepped in
@@drumtalkofficial Thats fantastic. Its almost like oh our bass player cant be there? lets upgrade lol they both kick ass though

Who’s on bass for colin?
What guitar is the singer playing?
St. Macarius Bc Rich Stealth custom made no doubt. Such a nice instrument.
It's made by Marc Chicoine a luthier in Quebec.
Patrice Hamelin is a fucking beast...
Isn't that Kevin Hufnagel?
it sure is
i thought the bass playing was piano before i saw this
When the bass player gets to do the final mix.

You did well on the shooting and editing - it captures and expresses the pure insanity of the music far better than still shots would.
Shame this footage was edited like shit and mixed so rhythm section heavy (I assume that's a result of it being mixed for a "drumtalk" video).

This is the kind of "music" that if you play the wrong note a few times in the song. nobody will notice!
They kind of sound similar to messugah

it's a soundboard recording buddy -- so it's not even a "mix" but just a mastering of a stereo track
