Wow! Awesome paddling here ! Given some critical lines you guys took, those little canoes seem super stable and forgiving. Wish we would have such wide and long rapids here. Looks like a pure blast! Thanks for the great vid!
Wow! You guys are awesome! So beautiful! I love the South Fork, and would love to do your trip. Water level doesn't look too low either ... nice (and warm too). I live in McCall, and have hiked or motorcycle ridden both ends of this trip - but seen the middle canyon section in high water and it freaked me out a little (that one waterfall you need to sneak on the right - not so bad in August though probably). I'm not that good at hardshell, and was thinking Aire ducky, as I could portage some stuff if I chicken out. Did you put in off Lick Creek at confluence? And, get out down by the bridge on the other side, not sure of the name of that place, but the road goes by it, and then back up to Warren? Or, did you float all the way to Riggins/Carrey Creek boat launch?
We put in where the East Fork of the South Fork comes in. There's no access at the end of the South Fork so you have to run the last twenty-ish miles of the Main Salmon all in one day, since it's permitted. We got lucky and flagged a jet boat down that took us most of the way down the Main, we probably only paddled a couple miles of it. We took out at Vinegar Creek, a few miles above Carey.
Cabot and I just did it ourselves, found someone to run shuttle for us. There are guided trips on the Main and Middle Salmon but the South Fork is a little more remote and is private only as far as I know
great music, great performance, and R-beer was visible!

Nice one boys, grade A
How do you organise a trip like this? Is it completely privately or is it with a company?
