- I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide. Sometimes fossil hunting turns out to be treasure hunting, especially when you are trying a bit of sieving.The Jurassic Coast really does have some stunning fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. Thanks 🙏 very much David I agree ! The “ natural looking ,” blocks some people like more than the prepared blocks of ammonites. It was fun 🤩 though getting the whole little ammonite 🙌

The split on that Arnioceras at the start! Wow, well done!! Found a small bit of rostrum with about 7 or 8 teeth there last week 🤩

Lovely to see Monmouth and Pinhay with the ledges exposed on a good low tide, your videos always make me feel like I’m there even though I don’t live on the Jurassic Coast.
Thanks 🙏 very much for your comments, they are encouraging. The teeth in the Ichthyosaur rostrums get eroded rapidly as they are sticking out and are pointed. The main thing is you saved the jaw from anymore erosion 🙌!

Hey .. we go on to Lyme Regis between 3-7 April this year . We life on a small Northsea Island called Helgoland (Heligoland) (some time in history we were british as well!;) just aasking .. here we can just find the parts of Ammonites .. do you have this to at lyme regis
That’s a nice time of year to go fossil hunting at Lyme Regis! You must beware of the dangerous cliffs that are liable to fall suddenly and without warning . Go fossil hunting an hour before low tide and an hour afterwards, that gives you more of the beach to look at. Here is some more information ℹ️ for you following ! You can pick up pieces of ammonite at low tide
