    In this video I trained like Steph Curry for 7 days to improve my shooting. I used the Stephen Curry Masterclass to see how much I could improve my 3 point accuracy. The only experience I have with basketball is in high school gym class. So seeing a big increase in my shooting accuracy is shocking! I guess to be the best, you gotta train like the best NBA player in the world. Curry!

    As a basketball player myself, I can say you definitely improved. I do have a tip though if you’re going to continue playing. When you’re shooting, try not to push the ball as much. Make sure your arm is straight up and not forward. If it’s forward it means your pushing the ball and it won’t be as accurate. It does require more legs in your shot though.
    I’d suggest staying away from the 3pt line for awhile, and just work shots around the basket. Your layup looked really good by the way!! I hope you see this…

    Timestamps that include master class (I didn't include all the days lol I may update it later but I am not sure)
    DAY ONE
    Shooting Around the 3-point line (Shoot 5 times in each point) - 0:27
    Bounce and catching tenis ball - 1:19
    Bounce and chatching + Between (also with tenis ball) - 1:35
    DAY FIVE
    Read our defender
    Right foot is the lean foot (idk if it is for everyone)
    Tips from Steph Curry:
    1: Turn your toes to the rim
    2: Put ball in pads of fingertips when shooting
    3: Aim for the hooks at the front of the hoop
    4: Finish shooting with your elbow above your eye
    5: Full release/gooseneck
    Big tips from Steph:
    1: Make 5 makes in front of rim and take a big step back repeat process (added part for me, once you get to 3 point line then you go to a different angle (Do 100 makes and around 5 angles)

    just as a general tip 😅 you don’t need to jump on a free throw. For shooting, you should be focusing more on having the ball in your shooting pocket (with your arm bent around 90 degrees and the ball somewhere around your hips), raising it up in front of your face, and then extending your elbow and then flicking the wrist. By the time your legs and body are straight up on a jump shot, the ball should be in front of your face (not on top of your head) from there you just extend your elbow focusing aiming in the middle of the basket

    • @heavenly1053
      @heavenly1053 Рік тому

      It depends on your height where the ball should be in front of your face or on top. Since steph is tall he releases the ball on top of his head. Harden shoots infront of his head.

  • @sirjoel6415
    @sirjoel6415 Рік тому +8

    Always appreciate people that try many things, but for any of yall thinking about picking up a masterclass like Hafu, I suggest you think again. Most times these things are based on the assumption that you have a somewhat sound enough foundation, those drills are extremely difficult and should be used to supplement your grind to getting on a whole new level, but are inefficient for completely new players. Most skills from sports can be self-taught simply by watching and replicating and of course playing the sport, the only real time you need to be coached is when you've hit a roadblock.
    New players, I suggest you start getting your shooting form right, we see that hafu improved his shooting percentage, but his form stayed quite wrong. This is also part of the reason why he couldn't shoot with a defender on him, because his form takes too much time with unnecessary movement to put the shot up. Then learn simple dribble moves and simple off the dribble shots. Simply slow down any video of a good shooter and you'd be able to do it. Honestly I don't even think any actual training should be done, since once you take something too seriously you tend to lose enjoyment. Enjoy the game first, and just do moves you see in them as many times as possible, you'd be shocked at how fast you learn and how much fun you'll have.
    Always try to enjoy the process first, hafu did a great job at being positive through this use that as the takeaway!

I noticed that when ever you shoot your left hand aka guarding hand gets left behind and your shooting hand go’s early than your left. So when you shoot. The left hand should guide the shooting hand so that the ball will go straight and you will have a better chance of making it. Hope this helps ❤

  • @snatchback3

    You improved a lot, but here are some tips for shooting: instead of having your feet face the hoop, you should have them angled to the left a little to make your elbows/arms more square to the hoop (this would help your accuracy). You should also stop straining yourself when you shoot (obv ik for some people it’s different) but you should shoot from 5 feet out and make 50 of those in a row to build up muscle. Another thing is to stop turning yourself after your release, this would help for accuracy as well and to build up muscle (again). I would also suggest to stop doing a jumper while shooting FTs, instead raise your toes to add power to your shot. Hope these tips help!

    Great improvements, but you need to work more on your shooting form and jumpshot, you gotta have your arm facing up not forward because it will be short if you just push the ball forward. If you have your arm facing up it would push the ball upward and get a better arc and would be more precise
    You also gotta put your hands in the correct place. Put your pushing (dominant) hand on top and your guide hand on the bottom side part of the ball.

    When Steph Curry gives tips on shooting, he actually gives tips that he doesn't do at all. Where he said to only have your fingers on the ball and no palm, Steph Curry actually uses all of his palm when he shoots. For me its actually easier to shoot with all palm.

      Any still photo of Steph shooting will show his entire palm, even the heel of his hand, on the ball.

    The most necessary thing you need to do is improve your basic skills, like holding and controlling the ball, which is really significant!

    I play basketball professionally and as I see it with you it would be good if you put your left hand away before you throw and your fingers have to point straight to the basket because yours is much better in accuracy
