Way to go Jay! Awesome Sudbury medicine. Crazy finding the shell. Love that cast iron. Great seeing the whole crew out for a dig. Best wishes and regards to everyone !
Thanks Allan! Was a crazy find indeed that med! One of the best finds of that year for sure! 😄😄 Always nice being out with a group of friends in the dump!
It amazes me how much stuff you guys find from the era that will turn purple, when i was digging most of tips where either to old (lots of 1880/90's stuff ) or too late (late 20's early 30's) for the bottles to have manganese in them. I like that cast iron thing too.
Our area is mostly 1890s to 1915 for abandoned areas and towns! Up north here is basically all the same are range, so there's loads of purple glass all over the place! The cast iron thing was quite cool too! Completely intact too which was nice too see 😄😄
Research old areas or abandoned towns. And start exploring around. Normally larger dumps you can see bits of old enamel or metal sticking out of the ground! Somtimes using a metal detector can help find any mini or hidden dumps under the ground! 😄😄
@Adventurous4Life i own a home in a az which is over 125 years old and everytime i. dig i find something a shoe 4ft deep glass or even a icechest that was like 2 ft deep

How you know where to dig.
