If we were to land Dak Moore, Ffrench and Lockett, I’d say they have a chance of being better than the original big 3 of Roy Williams, BJ Johnson and Sloan.
Based on the writing on the wall regarding Zion Williams, Texas absolutely has to make in roads with Kevin Wynn, Josiah Sharma, and Myron Charles.

Bo Davis has screwed the Longhorns in so many ways. Because of him we lost the DT portal transfer from Houston and the HS DT commit from Florida. Now he is taking Zion and possibly Brown too. I do not care for him very much. I also balme Sark, how the hell could he only take one DT in the class that only had Sydir. And it looks like Sydir ain't really living up to expectations.

I thought I couldn’t hate Brian Kelley more and then he steals Bo Davis just when he becomes an attractive DT coach to play for again.
Now I feel like we can’t parlay Sweat and Murphy going in the draft into recruiting material. If we try to say “Look at how good our DTs were last year! Come play for us!” the immediate negative recruiting counter is that Bo Davis is not here any more.
Instead, LSU can say “Look at how good UT’s DTs were last season! Come play for us!”
Texas let Bo go because of his lack of recruiting.

You don’t “let a guy go” that just coached up the best DT duo in the nation.
You guys are being very naive. You think any guy can go anywhere and recruit top players without recent history of success. Georgia is not killing it in recruiting solely because they just have exceptional recruiters. They’ve established success, and now players want to come there to be a part of that success.

You missed the part that Texas did not try to retain him although they could have. Bo is a good coach but a real liability in recruiting. Oscar Giles recruited all the DL talent upon whom Texas has been relying for the last 3 years and even thus year.

@@BurntOrangeHorn78 how are you sure Texas could have retained him? LSU’s his Alma mater. That’s something Texas just couldn’t counter. They might have been able to offer him more money, but there is obviously a limit to that. I don’t think any employer wants to get into a situation where an employee is threatening to leave unless they offer him essentially a blank check. Would be a bad precedent to set, just like trying to retain a player that way with NIL.

I am certain Texas did not counter offer Bo. They were done. Texas was ready to move on.
I dont know guys...it's a sad day when we're out recruited by Bo Davis, he couldn't land an elite DL recruits while at Texas with gold/silver or magic. It is absolutely a priority to keep Brandon Brown in this class, and then kand a couple of the other outta state guys, maybe Sharma, Charles or Wynn.
You are being pretty unfair and unrealistic regarding Bo Davis. LSU has had a lot going for them in the last 10 years that Texas is just barely getting going for themselves, namely winning games and putting guys into the draft. Bo Davis is coming off a draft where an undersized 3* that he coached was the first DT taken. So not real crazy that Bo would be able to go in and recruit better at LSU than he was able to at UT.
1. Last 5* DT to be recruited to UT was recruited by Bo Davis (Malcom Brown). Back when UT wasn’t as far removed from national relevance as we were until just this year.
2. Last three UT DTs taken in rounds 1 & 2 all coached by Bo Davis
@@colbyhofferek7668 Don't get me wrong, I've never denied that Bo is a hell of a developer, and I'm not necessarily hating on Bo, but the stats dont lie...the man struggled at Texas landing elite recruits, hell some years he struggled getting any recruits...it's just ironic to me that he's now at LSU and looks to be possibly landing elite DL and a couple of them he's possibly poaching from Texas. Like him or not he left Texas in a very bad spot roster and recruiting wise at DL. I do think however that A. January is gonna be a dude on the DL.
@@colbyhofferek7668 Also his success developing nfl quality DL while at Bama didn't translate to any recruiting success at Texas, he had DL drafted rd 1 and 2, why should he be any different at LSU?
LSU had 3 DL drafted off that terrible defense. That tells you that their reputation precedes the with recruits. Bo just had two drafted including the Outland trophy winner....if you're a young DL why wouldn't you commit to Bo is the question. When BO left that put Texas behind the 8ball and it's showing...
@@garysmallwood1527 my point is- he didn’t struggle landing recruits at Texas because he isn’t a good recruiter. He struggled because DTs just want to go other places, namely SEC/Big10 schools with recent histories of winning and putting guys in the draft. Texas hasn’t been that recently until literally this year
