This seems like the way to do it. I do this when I pick Black berries and it works great ! After filling the bag, I also dunk the bag in a large cooking pot full of water to remove all the air from the bag and then seal it up. But be careful you don't get any water inside the bag ! 👨🍳 👨🍳
Thanks for your video, I’m off to freeze my mushrooms 😂😂 I’m always throwing them out because I’m paranoid about use by dates, but now, no more waste. 👍🇬🇧
Hi from Canada😀 Thanks to you and this episode, I now have perfectly frozen mushrooms to help me feed my family. I also subscribed to your channel. All the best to you👍👍👍
wow. confusing??,, I just came from a vacuum food saver youtube & they specifically said do not vacuum seal mushrooms. ?? is it good to do or not?? thanks!!
As long as they are frozen, you can vacuum seal them. It is not wise to vacuum seal fresh mushrooms because they can create a environment suitable for botulism. Same as onions and garlic.
@@LittleVillageHomestead Can you tell me, when you're ready to cook with the mushrooms, which preservation method leaves them most like fresh when it comes to texture? Thank you, I've been blanching mine before freezing, it's nice to know I can skip that step!
So good to know I can do that! I love having mushrooms on hand and I really don't like the canned ones.

That’s the way I do my fruits as well.

Put parchment paper on your pan first, then they won't stick.

Hi Renea..i froze mushrooms before but they turned dark and mushy..thx for showing us...are these good to use in pizza? Thanks so much
I did too, and I had the same thing happen to me when they thawed out.
@@poopzybaby1 thanks
I use them in everything. They get a little darker but mine don't get mushy.
@@LittleVillageHomestead thank you Renea
Do you know What is the shelf life of a frozen mushroom ?
Thanks for this video! Just found you!
Thank you 😊👍
I want to deep fry my mushrooms will they stay good after their frozen.
Thank you for sharing
No one ever does a video showing thawing and cooking with frozen mushrooms.. because they turn to mush.
You don’t need to thaw it. I think she just cooks it. That’s what I did and it worked fine. If you thaw it, it will turn to mush.
I just bought 2 lbs of mushrooms for $1.42
Thank you
Excellent tip on freezing mushrooms!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!

I didn't know you can freeze mushrooms.when you dehydrate them do you need too half them and blanch them..
Some will say you need to blanch them first and some say no, however, I do not blanch mine I just cut them in half and dry them.
are they soggy when defrosted? rob
They can get soggy so they are best used in dishes like casseroles and such.
thank you. never tried this. will now!@@LittleVillageHomestead
I need to use this I feel like I never use my mushrooms on time.
I canned mine Love them
I can them too and they are delicious.
