This video was a great find. Mom asked about this so I did a UA-cam search. Tell me, after blanching you still have to finish cooking the potatoes according to what type of dish you're preparing right? I'm guessing there's no way to freeze fully cooked potatoes, right? Any ideas on how to accomplish this? 🙏🏾
Wow 🤩, my mind is blown away... I used to buy a 5lb bag of potatoes and the bag would sit in the pantry and go bad. I never knew this... now I’m going to have potatoes anytime and save 💰💰💰. Thank you so much for sharing.
I use my Instant Pot to steam the cut potatoes before freezing. Steam for 1 minutes, let the pressure release for 3 minutes, cool and then freeze. I have also parboiled them too. And I use my Food Processor to dice them or slice them. I've never shredded them and froze them though. Great Video. Thanks very much.
Thank you for all those great ideas, I like the steam idea, it will take less water since is in the instant pot. Do you put a lot of potatoes when you do it this way? Cause when I do my eggs (I have a short in the channel) I put as many eggs as I want and just little of water, all the eggs cook perfectly
Thanks for the tips. My hubby goes to the farmers market and buys potatoes in 50# bags and they start to go bad before I can use them all. This is a game changer…thanks again.
this was great. there was a huge sale on potato at my local supermarket that we bought too many. now I can make bags of different potato stuff, some wedges, chips, have some potato ready for mash too. And also roast potatoes! thanks for this video.
Thank you so much for this video! With groceries prices going so high I have been using Instant potatoes and store bought frozen potatoes! This is definitely a game changer!
I am part Irish and I love my potatoes. Thank you so much for this video. I am definitely going to try this. I always buy a big bag of potatoes and can never finish them all. This is awesome.
Very helpful! I'm prepping potatoes 🥔 and onions 🌰 today. BTW, I'm Jamaican and we put potatoes I'm lots of dishes...soups and curry chicken etc. Again, great video short and sweet!
I love Jamaican food😍😍😍 Yeah potatoes is our best friend in this house, between my husband's Jamaican food and my Tunisian food my freezer is always stuck up😁
I love food prep and I have to freeze because it's just me, but groceries are cheaper when bought in bulk so I spend a day cutting and freezing onions and bell peppers and other veggies and I spend an entire day meal prep cooking. I am a truck driver and work 5 days, so when I get home for my 2 days off I don't want to spend half the say cooking and cleaning. I pick one day of the month for shopping and prepping and can easily go 2 months just thawing and reheating my meals plus I have meals I take on the road with me. It's saved me so much money compared to nasty truck stop food 😅. With this economy every penny counts. Waste not want not so frozen taters will be great
Blessings to you and yours Mrs. Eya and to those reading this message...I personally have been freezer prepping foods and made that mistake with my raw French fries...Soooo because I DO NOT like wasting food I thawed and paper toweled them and sauted'em in less than an inch of olive oil inside a cast iron skillet with some sliced an diced onions, and some seasonings and WAALLA!! They turned out to be soooo delicious! BUUT I will remember to blanch my potatoes first Lol!! Thank u!🤳🏻☺️👍✨
Phenomenal kitchen prep tip. My New Year’s goal is to cook more and waste less. All professional kitchens have prep cooks, so I guess it’s pretty obvious that the solution for home cooks is the same.
Our local gas station has been selling nice big Idaho potatoes $2 for 10# vs $9 for 10# at the local Festival grocery store. I keep going back and getting more once I have processed a couple bags so I don’t waste the bounty. Thanks, this is very good info!! Processed potatoes are getting so expensive and who knows what they are treated with.
I love potato skins and they are costly at the restaurant, as well as, the supermarket. I tried freezing potatoes b4. What a mess! I just received a 10lb bag of medium sized ones. I am gonna prepare them for making potato skins. Thanks for sharing.
Your amazing. I have never learned how to cook. But I started watching you one day, and I was quite surprised how easy it was. You really have changed my life. The things I have learned from you has taught me not to be afraid to go into the kitchen. It’s awesome. 😎 Thank you for sharing your videos. I’ll definitely keep watching you. Thanks again. 🎉👍💜😃
I was just complaining to my husband that I’m buying bagged potatoes and then they rot, and then I had the idea to look up how to freeze them up, and here you are! Thank you for simple, helpful instructions without a lot of small talk. ❤️🙏🏻👵

@Barbara. I have been in the same boat as you, having a 5lb bag go bad and turn into brown smelly water! Now I know what to do.
Same here, Barbara. Taught to not freeze potatoes, but companies sell frozen FF & mashed so why not? Have some now I need to freeze before they rot!
Thank you all for watching and commenting, really appreciate it

For making stove top potatoes, such as fried potatoes, do you just cook from frozen as you do when boiling for mashed?
Thank you. I just processed 10lbs of potatoes and they're sitting in the freezer now.
