My friend and I have an inside joke where we mash tilts and f smash at ledge and simply say “ledge trapping…”. It’s based off of low level players either mashing at ledge, going for bad reads at ledge, or just charging f smash.
Really good tip a lot of Bowser players (and others) could benefit greatly from HOWEVER I do disagree with the platform placement. Because if Peach fc fairs you, you will be able to react with shield and not much else, with the top of the fair hitbox hitting your shield on plat just as she lands it will be unpunishable pressure, even if you manage to parry, short hop or spot dodge it (on reaction). Now she's the one with center stage while you're still stuck on the platform and the one forced to make a move. And it's not just Peach fc fair either. While you may be just outside the burst range to get hit where you stand without being able to react, any aerial that can safely cover the area your dropdown while also hitting above platform will generally beat the reactive options you have Getting off platforms in general in this game sucks a lot. Would much rather respect the dash attack by staying on ground, your punish game consistently being like ~15 frames better. Peach's burst range on ground specifically isn't all that great either. Could see it working in other matchups tho, such as vs. Snake, so it's still principally good advice, but I'd still generally keep to the ground for stage control lol
@@___i3ambi126 then you put yourself in a worse position. Now peach is floating on top of you and free to pressure you from above, plus you gave her stage control
@@___i3ambi126 That's one thing, but I doubt you'll be able to whiff punish. Bowser still has center, but was forced to give her more space. Peach in particular has enough air control to just reset based on your reaction rather than fully committing a whiff, and enough mixups that her jump alone could be a lot more than just fair. You also run the risk of Peach overshooting her aerial, which would cover that space. You're still the one forced to make a defensive option with no confirmed reward since her fair would cover your aggressive paths, so yeah I'm still not convinced
@@PrettyPieHead I mean your react to her jump by hitting her as she moves towards you. Assuming shes not doing the float cancel equivalent of just dashing to center stage.
Play melee lol. Ultimate heavily is movement dependent. It just doesn’t have movement tech like melee. Most mid level melee players go crazy with real dash dancing or wave dashing just because they learned how to do it and feel cool. But don’t actually position themselves correctly to win neutral. Or understand why they are doing dash dancing or wavedashing lol. But if you’re not a pro there’s still a lot to learn and master in ultimate and melee lol
The fact that I see an incredibly small amount of actual top players complain about the lack of movement options and the majority of complainers are nobodies really tell me how ya'll would rather have 800 techs than actually try and get good at the game LMAO
I love these shorter videos of yours where you explain little things like these. I often watch these before tourneys :)
Dabuz‘s smash guides are so underrated. I feel like he really breaks down these concepts in a way that isn’t talking down to people trying to improve.
I would either drop stright down with fair (reading instant dash or roll in). Or empty short hop to pretend im doin something.
Really enjoy these kinds of videos!
I just imagine a reverse scenario of Bowser being at the corner and Daisy pressuring him. xD But I will keep that in mind, thank you!

I think you could dash off the platform reacting to her jump.

Ultimate is getting pretty boring. Wish this game had advanced movement options like real dash dancing or wavedashing.
Don't people hate dashdancing in melee because it's super non committal so you can play passively and react to the other person and whiff punish?
