- Summary of the construction process of the 160-metre yacht BLUE
Efficiency and the desire to be as environmentally friendly as possible were key drivers for the technology on board. BLUE is equipped with a highly efficient Diesel-Electric Hybrid Propulsion Concept developed by Lürssen’s own engineering specialists.
BLUE is also equipped with an electric Azimuth Pod Drive, which in electric mode can be used separately, or when the PTI units are engaged, with the two propeller shafts.
In order to generate less noise and vibration and reduce nitrogen oxide levels, BLUE is equipped with a state-of-the-art exhaust after-treatment system. Furthermore, the wastewater treatment plant is equipped with new membrane technology that allows the treated wastewater to be safely disposed of in ‘drinking water quality’.

That is as big as a cruise ship. I can't imagine what it must feel like to own that, it must be surreal.

I am passionate to design something beautiful yacht like this.I have MS and BE Mechanical Engineering degree currently based in Poland. and looking for any oppertunity to work in such Shipyard and to work with designers. Hope such big yachts will run on hydrogen soon. If that can be produced CO2 free, and is available in the most frequented marinas.

This design is getting super old. Is this even a new build.. I can't tell because there's already like 10 yachts that look exactly like this. Disdale, Oeino, Heywood.. you guys need to come up with something new. If my client was paying me millions of dollars, I would be embarrassed to present them a copy of one of my previous designs.
The owner hires the designer to design the yacht to his liking. Clearly, this owner likes this style.

Owners choice. Lürssen build whatever the customer wants.
100% owners choice. This design is elegant, timeless and a evolution of the previous yacht of the client. I think in 20..30 years the design will be still considered pretty nice and classic. Most other yachts with super fancy designs will be considered outdated pretty soon.
This design maybe is a bit older, but it's still beautiful.
All the "new styles" are looking ugly imho!
