    Heaven forbid you actually ride an mx bike in the woods and actually have good clutch control... people need to get over it.

      Yeah but he had an enduro bike specifically setup for this, makes no sense to me. If this makes him happy though then i'm all for it haha.

      Capt Jack change of pace I guess, I still ride my 125 in the woods even though I have a 300 made for it, and the 125 is greatly worse in the woods compared, its fun to ride something different I guess

      I ride a 350sxf in the woods because it was 4 grand cheaper than the xcf. It's a great woods bike, I like it much better than my yz250x.

    I miss my 250. Such a great reliable bike. My only ever issue was the air forks. If you can, convert to spring. Way better. Also leave it in map 2 for enduro. It's the smoothest mode and also get an 18" rear wheel. It will feel like a whole new bike in the woods. Fly wheel also if you can be bothered. But i pretty much think after a lot of riding on the 250 you will sell the 300 because it's so much dam fun! Can't wait to see it against the 300. great video as always buddy

      I'm contemplating having a suspension tuner hook me up with a set of ohlins. If I sold the 300, I would definitely need a quality suspension to replace it. It is one hell of a fun bike, I just love how violent the rev limiter sounds haha.

      Gladius Jon yeah and they’re quite responsive. A lot of lower end power on those things. If you end up liking it a lot you can always upgrade to a 2018 and then you have electric start 😀

    I have the same exact bike for trail riding and love it. Things I did to make it trail worthy are ims tank, Evan's waterless coolant conversion (an absolute must), pro moto billet kickstand, tubliss tire setup running 5psi ( another game changer), ricochet skid plate, and a trail tech Voyager.

    I have one of those bikes and i set it up for trail riding/track and the major upgrades i reccomend are, BUY A SET OF SPRING FORKS ON EBAY the air forks that come with this bike are hard and feel like a literal pogo stick, always popping out of corners, then youll want some good triple clamps (xtrig rocs pro) because the stock ones always shift the angle of the fromt wheel after a crash. A fat bar or twinwall bar is reccomended as well if your planning on taking liftoff and dont want an 7/8 bar implanted in your chest when you case super hard. After that its all preference... oh yeah also DONT BUILD YOUR ENGINE TOO FAR anything beyond stage 2 cam and high comp piston will fry the engine, do not go full race gas and race head, the engine will turn into a hand grenade. Cheers from a veteran crf owner

    I LOVED my Honda ! It was a used 2010 CRF250R, with RG3 A kit set up for woods and a Rekluse. I had more damn fun on that bike. I have since moved on to a "proper" European offroad bike, but I have to say I liked the Honda better!

    The one thing I like about Honda is, they have the R, X, RX, L, and now the F models for 250cc and 450cc bikes. Honda basically makes a model for anyone and their riding style.

    i started riding in the woods on a 1973 cr 250 elsinore , then a 1979 cr 125 elsinore and now i ride a 2001 kx 250 all 2 strokes and i have fun.

    I was with ya until I heard 15psi. No wonder the front tucked. You even said you should riding a lower setting...... my son on law gets along really well with a 19 on the rear and a tubliss2 set up at around 6 psi. When it is really muddy, he just drops it down to 2psi and his hard terrain shinko 525 ( they sent him the wrong one awhile back, he was going for the extreme or cheater) goes where everyone else goes with soft terrains. Dont throw away that 19 until you give the tubliss2 a try.His is a 15 yz250f that I have ridden, and even without extensive mods, it works pretty darn well in the woods. Light weight, torquey, snappy power and good brakes .....250fs are hard to beat here In Ohio and Kentucky woods for lighter riders.

    I’ve been doing a 2005 crf 250 up and it a lovely bike to ride, put and extra tooth on the rear sprocket to lower the gearing a shade but love riding it. Honda 😎👍

    Look to the current CRF250RX for suspension settings to soften up. That bike uses the same components as the R but is much softer. Might need a softer spring to make it work like you want it.

    With $3900 in savings, you've got room to spend to get it suited for woods... Definitely Tubliss or Bibs and softer springs.

  • @SkinnySkinch
    @SkinnySkinch 5 років тому +1

    you're really making me miss my 250f........ run like 12 in the rear and 13 in the front on regular duty tubes like that has. 15 is pretty high probably adding to the deflection quite a bit I'd assume. When I got my TPI I was so excited just went out for a ride without checking a single thing and I HATED it. front end sliding all over the place.. back to the truck after an hour thinking I wanted to sell it lol. checked pressure and it was at 16/17 PSI 🤦🏻‍♂️

  • @speedtoad6167
    @speedtoad6167 5 років тому

    12.5 psi front 12 psi rear before you do any more suspension adjustments. It's a good bike. Keep the 19 rear for trails like that.

    My buddy has the exact same bike and unless your just riding fast flowy stuff it's absolutely terrible. Took him on some gnarly trails and I thought he was just a crappy rider until we switched bikes, then I understood. It flamed out really easy, could not get traction for nothing and overheated. And for being fuel injected it starts really hard.idk. Great on the track tho. I'd like to ride one with a 18" wheel and flywheel weight and see what difference that makes. I felt my 2006 KTM 250sxf was a way better woods bike imo
