It was really more fit to be parted out . . . . . . but he needed the money for college, and I had some broken ribs, so I could not ride anyway. So I built a bike. The list of parts is long. That “throttle lag” is the problem the old carbd crfs were known for check out the o ring mod or im sure theres a performance accelerator pump kit you can buy which eliminates it completely.
Hey whenever you try starting these bikes when they are hot, use the hot start lever that and these bikes you need maintenance a lot or they will blow up easily so keep that in mind quadnation
when you accelerate the throttle real fast and it bogs out that is caused due to the leak jet being to small. i have a 2007 that did the same, went to a 50 leak jet and that fixed the problem. the smaller the number the more gas it gives when accelerating.
To start them you pump the throttle 3-4 times (after you pull choke out), then leave the throttle closed andit should start first kick. I think your 3-4 slow kicks is just a different (harder way) of drawing some fuel in.
