There is something beautiful and nostalgic about this title song…sadly the cast of characters are gone now, even the wonderful voices of The Sons of the Pioneers & Bob Nolan,,, I wish I could have been born earlier so as to fully appreciate their talents….
This was the first time that Republic put in all of their cowboy stars in one film. Bob Livingston has a great adlib? during a shootout with the bad guys. He's watching Allan Lane aim his sixgun and says "You're going to do a lot of damage with those blanks." Suddenly the audience realizes that the cowboy stars are just actors and probably would be using blanks but Lane manages to bluff the bad guys anyway. There is a couple of scenes where Roy calls his cowboy friends at the studio and they are shown making movies. Republic did it again with Trail of Robin Hood where Republic cowboys come to Roy's aid to battle Christmas tree rustlers.
one of my favorites due to all the cowboy stars, and of course the musicnotice the line where Rocky Lane is told he's going to do a lot of damage with those blanks, it seems like I'd read, or heard, that that line was an ad lib that was left in the moviethe look on Lane's face is hilarious
That story about Bob Livingston's ad lib is apparently true. Livingston is shown on camera sitting down delivering the line. Whether or not, the line was written that way will never be known. Lane does look like he's trying not to smile.
This is a unedited print. For years, the only prints available were the ones that had elimated the scenes of the cowboys being contacted at Republic. This was to allow for local TV ads to be inserted. I recall dealers asking for an unedited print of this years ago when I would go to the festivals.
I have heard that Livingston did adlib the line and they kept it in the picture. Lane acts like he suddenly remembers that he doesnt have real bullets in his gun.
8 Yrs Young Gene Autry Was IT. Then Roy And Dale Were A Dandy Couple. Loved ALL Western Movies, INTO Military, History OF ALL MANNER OF Endless # OF: Subject Matters .....
The Republic opening title notes the film is "Distributed Throughout Great Britain and Ireland by BRITISH-LION FILM CORPORATION, LTD." The original {American} Republic title looked like this: static.wikiforge.net/avidwiki/7/74/KIJxtPsrKYkVlp3kKtKZFg64954.jpeg
I can't stand the sound of boy-choirs, with their high, effeminate voices (I was a baritone at age 12), but, ah, I could listen to Dale Evans day and night.......... even though she broke my heart and ran off with Roy Rogers. Oh, well, Happy Trails to them.

What a cast of cowboys. Thought I'd seen this before. Glad I watched it because I hadn't.
I thought the same about Saga of Death Valley (that's another of Roy Rogers movies)
Great way to spend the day watching movies
Bob Nolan will always have my heart.
What? You don't like Gabby Hayes?
Thank You So Very Very Much For All Everything Over The Years Ages Roy Rogers !.
I love how at 22:38 ish Roy and the Pioneer’s first reaction is to run to the cars, rather than their horses.
Cool movie, one of my favorites
"If we were doing a movie; this is where the director says Action!" Every kid in America, knew those bad guys didn't have a chance!
I love this movie 🍿

What a charming film! You detractors can take a long walk off a short pier!
No problem for me. I can walk on water.
This print does not have the scenes where the cowboys are contacted at Republic...Must be a television print.

CALIFORNIA Sure Has A Very Interesting
History, INDEED....
always like Bill Elliott
Marlboro liked him too, until he died of lung cancer.
This is the BRITISH release print.
How can you tell? That's so interesting!
Why would they want to release that bunch of little boys squeaking like little girls? That should have been cut from the movie.💣

Lee, I've read that before from you.
Good to see you're paying attention.
