Watching these as a small kid, I was always amazed how those wagons/stagecoaches seemed to be driven. It took awhile for me to finally catch on to the hole in the front of the wagon with reins coming out of it. Most westerns hid that pretty good, some didn't.
I do miss the old westerns,I watched Gene Autry,Lone Ranger,Hop A Long Cassidy, and Roy Rogers, and other westerns as well when I was a kid, great memories!
Roy sure can sing and yodel..Luv these nostalgic memories..A true singing 🐄 cowboy.. Tom is played by no other than "The Lone Ranger"..A young Clayton Moore.
Unlike the much older Dale Evans, our female co-star here, the lovely Gail Davis, didn`t need a stunt double in her movies. She performed them herself.
at 1:01:00 Roy and Trigger chase the truck and jump over barrels as they fall out. I heard about this in a radio interview today and I had to see it for myself. I can't believe they did that! They really had a lot of confidence to take a risk like that
What I can't figure out in these Roy Rogers westerns, is, there's Roy, living on his ranch that looks like everything is in the 19th century, then he rides over the hill and he's in a town with cars, cement sidewalks and telephone poles!
This is a subtle way of saying that the old days actually were The Good Old Days and that society has been going to Hell ever since. That's depressing, and one of the main reasons why RR movies and others like them have an enduring legacy for all of us. All those who disagree will be sent to Iran.
Has anyone noticed that Roy and the boys can bring in cattle from a round-up or a branding session, and everyone is wearing clean clothes and they're all clean-shaven? I can't do that even with an office job in the city.
At about 46:36 on the tape, you can see that the living room that Roy and the gang enter from outside is the same one as was used in 'Under California Stars'. Jane Frazee was the female lead.

Roy Bancroft was a damn good actor.
Roy Barcroft you mean. Must hold the movie record for the most fights lost.
That's the Lone Ranger. This was before The Lone Ranger Show though.

That was the time, when Westerns be Westerns
When the Border Patrol got the respect they deserve. Times have changed.
even though it's the west. it's the 1920s. that's the time period of most of his movies.

It's a time warp, just like Star Trek, Ain't it fun ? Ranger Jim

JEFFERY CERAGRE KISS TRIGGER
Good clean wholesome movies...........with a murder every 3 minutes.

And wasn`t Jane Frazee the most attractive female co-star that Roy Rogers ever had?
