    Love your videos. I live in south east pa. I really enjoy when you give field size. On the east coast,fields are modest size. Most our area farms are dairy farms and lots of crop rotation. Keep up the good work.

    Hi Hayden, interesting video today with the lodged wheat. We never had that trouble on the cutter bar divide with wheat but did on harvesting Turnip (canola) seed. My Dad engineered up a double reciprocating sickle bar about 2 foot long that cut thru the crop on that inside edge. Gosh, thinking back that would have been in the 60's.

      Ive seen a video of combines in Europe equipped with a vertical sickle on the dividers cutting rapeseed/ canola.

    You may not think so, but I bet that farmer appreciates your help with the shape of his wheat and the lateness of the season. You all are doing good. John T.

    They shouldn't have to worry about much stubble to plow cutting it that short. Glad you were able to help them out and worked out good for you since Nebraska hasn't come calling yet.

    I’ve always taken those crop dividers off and kept them off. They have always seemed to dig into the dirt or push crop down. On both the Deere heads and the Macdon. How often do you guys trade machines ?

    Really enjoy your content Heyden!
    I've been following your channel for the last couple of months.
    The wheat being lodged as it is on the fields that you are harvesting on this second ND farmer must be yielding well for them. Earlier this season I watched videos posted by Zeorian Harvesting & Trucking (www.youtube.com/@ZeorianHarvestingTrucking/videos) where the crew was harvesting many areas where the winter wheat was severely lodged. Yields there (the Highwood Bench in central Montana) were running 100+ BPA, which is exceptionally high.
    Thanks for continuing to keep us informed on harvest progress and 4G's Harvesting!

    Quick pros and cons Deere versus Macdon headers please? Thank you

    • @HaydenOnHarvest
      @HaydenOnHarvest  11 місяців тому

      Can’t give you a valid answer as I do not have that much experience with a Deere header. I did run a HD45F with the X9 1000 a couple of videos ago and side by side by the MacDon and the MacDon had a way cleaner cut.

  • @leefury7
    @leefury7 11 місяців тому

    How many combined loads can you get in your grain cart? Also, where do you guys stay? Do the farmers put you up or do you have to find lodging? Does mom have to cook for everyone at the end of the day?

    • @HarvestChic
      @HarvestChic 11 місяців тому +4

      @leefury7 we have 3 campers we stay in while on harvest- we find our own lodging. & sometimes I cook, but you’ve got to remember that I’m in the field working along side everyone else out here- all the same hours. I’m not superwoman & don’t have time (or energy) to cook as much as some other crews that have someone at the camper prepping meals at a decent hour.

    • @leefury7
      @leefury7 11 місяців тому +2

      @@HarvestChic I thought about you working all day along with the rest of the crew. You're a pretty amazing woman. Also I thought eating out is not only expensive, it's not very healthy. I didn't see in what vids I have watch any hauling or mention of campers. That makes total sense. I'm impressed with your son. Quite an operation. I worked for Peterson Mfg that made universal dual wheels long before the manufactures offered them. So I've always been on the outside looking in, wishing I had been the born the son of a farmer. Good life. Hard life. But blessed. Thx for the reply. Looking forward to corn and soybeans.
