- Comicbook.com is proud to present the Official teaser trailer for season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, featuring the arrival of the James. T. Kirk, our first look at the Klingons in Strange New Worlds...and our first glimpse of Commander Spock in the captain's chair of the Enterprise.
So how will newcomer James T. If you put the Kelvin timeline into account.....Kirk was born in outer space. His family is from Iowa.

I literally smacked my own face. They just perfected lame for all time. I’m honestly impressed.
Kirk, Picard, Archer, Sisko and Janeway plus every other member of their crews always just used a standard Engage, dunno where they got this "every Captain has "their thing" idea from tbh.

Love they brought back the right look for Klingon and they ship.
Funny enough, that's the wrong look, because Klingon looked much more human in TOS and Enterprise explained why. Also, according to TOS, Spock's very first command was the Galileo 7 in one away mission - and it didn't go well.
Funny how canon is becoming flexible nowadays.

@@PosthumousAddress Enterprise explains why *Klingons* looked almost human in The Original Series. In DS9, when they went back in time to The Original Series era, everyone was baffled looking at those human-like Klingons, and Worf said they didn't talk about it, which safeguarded canon and made for a good laugh. Chronologically, Strange New Worlds is just a few years before The Original Series. Klingons had changed already. Only option, that somehow the Klingons presented here haven't get the virus yet - if they forget this issue, which is very much canon, the writers are going to mess up really bad.
Still no explanation about why Spock is seen taking command of the Enterprise, when it is clearly stated in TOS that the Galileo 7 was his very first command. Unless he was just parking the starship.
You still have the Klingon from STD, why the Klingon from this trailer looks so different from the STD Klingon?
@@MariaMartinez-researcher Sitting in the chair for a watch and having command of a mission aren’t the same thing. Plus doesn’t it seem odd that TOS Spock reached the rank of full commander and first officer without ever having been in command?

Thank you for being a true Star Trek show and bringing back episodic exploration with a cast of people we can grow with.
Okay, we had "Engage", "Make it So", "Hit it!", and now we have "I would like the ship to go. Now!, fucking hell, i was forced to buy new keyboard as i got all my coffee on old one (never again i drink anything when watching teaser trialers!!!it after Spock said this, hahahaha and then i facepalm myself. Oh this season will be blast.
Season 1 made me love trek again.
Yes, nothing like Ren Faire episodes and the crew chuckling and doing winks and finger-guns while they warp off into the sunset and amnesia from anything that happened lol
Me, too. The first two seasons of "Picard" absolutely left me unimpressed. It was the same with "Discovery". The only season I enjoyed before I stopped watching it was Season Two and that was solely because of Anson Mount's portrayal of Christopher Pike. I am really looking forward to the new season of "Strange Voyages".

Can't wait! Although I'm guessing I'm in the minority here, but less Kirk (or none at all) would be OK with me. The show is supposed to be about Pike and the Enterprise crew.

I would love to see this show one day of the week and The Orville another day of week, then Star Trek Prodigy another day of the week. Only thing that would make the week better is a new Stargate series and I would be in Sci-Fi bliss before it feels like an overload.
I would not feel overloaded at all. I'd add in a new season for House of The Dragon, The Mandalorian and The Witcher (retaining Henry Caville of course with better writing and reshoots for S3) and I'd be in heaven! Throw in a few movie/mini series revisits to some other fave but cancelled shows to be shown on Sundays. Bliss!!! (eg. Farscape, Babylon 5.............,)
Toss in a revival of Babylon 5 and you’ve got a schedule.

This is such a great trailer, and it reminds me of the feeling I got watching the first season. Star Trek really means a lot of us and despite taking HUGE risks at times, is doing amazing work. Thank you for taking the time and care to give us something so beautiful, a vision for the future of hope.
Its better than TNG and as good as the original.

I just want to know why, in the last scene, they're in Roots on Yonge Street in Toronto. I mean yes they film the show in Mississauga, but do they really travel back to 2023 Canada?

I stopped watching modern Star Trek after the first JJ movie, this has got something though, kind of feels like TOS but updated, I like it!
Is it me, or does the teaser never tell you what platform you can find this show? Isn't that like Marketing 101?
It's because UA-cam and the show are international and Paramount Plus is not in that many countries. So, it's on different platforms. This has led to weird things like us Canadians not being able to see some Star Trek promotional content.

So many people butthurt by a trailer. I have my issues with the modern brand of Star Trek but SNW is just great.

The most un-Kirk Kirk ever. The rest of the casting is pretty decent but this version of Kirk just doesn't have the swagger or gravitas.
My theory is that they are going to show Kirk gaining his swagger and gravitas.
@@tron7090 This actor isn't capable of swagger or gravitas. He really is a "CW" quality actor. There's nothing about him that embodies Kirk, not a single aspect.
Agree completely. The actor just doesn't embody Kirk at all .. physically or by his acting ability. They could have just left Kirk out of the show until whenever the final season is decided...then got a better actor for like three or four episodes to set up the transition.
