Mingo Central Vs. Wheeling Central (Pre-Game Video)

Week 8 is the most anticipated game of the entire 2012 season as Wheeling Central (#16 in Class "A") travels to Mingo County to battle the Miners (#10 in Class "AA"). Wheeling Central travels 263 miles from Wheeling, West Virginia. The Maroon Knights are a very
familiar opponent to the 4 former Mingo County Schools. The most recent football meeting was between Wheeling Central and Matewan in 2010, with the Maroon Knights advancing to the State Championship game. Overall, WCHS is (7-1) against the four former Mingo County Schools. The lone victory occurred in Wheeling Central's only other trip to our area in 1996, as the Gilbert Lions defeated them in the 1st Round of Playoffs, 12-6. The Maroon Knights finished the 2011 Season at 13-1, and as Class "A" Champions, their 8th State Championship in the past 12 Years. In the past 5 Seasons, they've posted a commanding (55-11) record. Kickoff is set for Saturday, October 13th at 1:30pm at Harless Stadium.

i'm a big whg central fan, alumni and former player. I must say that it's this video that makes high school football what it is. I commend Mingo Central for this. Just remember it was 1 game. Get up, brush off and prep for this week. Good Luck!
