Thank you for watching this brand new Sega SG-1000 review in 2016! If we all join forces, perhaps we can persuade Sega to add a MkIII card reader to the Dreamcast 2 when they make it. I also want to see a Sega 32X cartridge slot and a beer tap that dispenses Racer 5 whenever I want it. Once again thank you all - CGR is backed by fans on www.patreon.com/posts/4330662
+Lord Karnage I have to wonder if we use a JP Mega Drive & 32X, JP Power Base converter, and the Card Catcher if you CAN play SG-1000 on the 32X. AT that point an S-Video mod and beer tap would be easy to add. Thank you Sega for even making that sentence possible. SG-1000 Sega Cd 32X games possible?
Zoom 909 was the working title for the arcade game before they acquired the Buck Rodgers license and just slapped it on a game they already had in development. The arcade machine was one of the earliest examples of hardware sprite scaling. Sprite zooming was accomplished without any high speed math chips, instead it used a bank of 8 voltage controlled oscillators that were used as clocks for reading the objects out of ROM as they were drawn to the screen. The graphics hardware would "race the beam" as the sprites were drawn to the screen and the lower the VCO frequency the longer the image would take to be read out and drawn and so the sprite would be drawn larger on the screen.
+TheInsanemonkeyboy SG-1000 Sega Cards do not work with a US Master system. As far as I can tell they will work with the black Japanese Master System that looks like the US Master System. However I do not own a JP black Master system to test it on. They do work with SG-1000mk2 and SC-3000 as long as you have the Card Catcher.
Like the review though, why did you stretch the video to 16:9 from 4:3? It looked wonky and fat. Other than that I love the tv + you shots, they show you actually hating or enjoying the game, works really well!
i first watched this video on my xbox one and it didn't like the background of level 3. i almost threw up whenever the grid was moving at a high speed.

None of that will happen, I'm afraid. With so many bad consoles (32X, SG-1000) and the destruction of Sonic (Sonic 2006, Sonic Boom), Sega is no more.
+Adam D Sega will never die, some day we will see the revival of the 32X.
+Superpooper 9000 In your dreams.

+Lord Karnage I second that for all the new additions for the Dreamcast 2
The best part of this game is that it says © Sega 1985 in the lower right corner at all times, just in case you forget who owns the legal rights to the game as you play.
+Game Sack Best part is that it says Sega and not Nintendo.
Hi Game Sack. A.k.a. the King of Sega(Joe) and King of Nintendo(Dave). Zoom 909 is a great game. It's like Commuter with Zaxxon.

"FAIR!....Screw you, I took all day to get there!"
Priceless (along with the middle finger at the screen moments earlier). :)
I remember playing this so many times on my trusty MSX. It was a great game. Level 3 quite difficult indeed. Thanks for posting this.
That's some serious classic gaming you got going on there Mark. Cheers!
hah seeing you figure that out on camera like that was epic!
would love to get our hands on an SG1000, great review as always
Congrats Mark on getting thru level 3! :)
+ Lord Karnage for the time it looks and sounds pretty good. I can't think of many games that look as good for 1985.
Hi Lord Karnage a.k.a. Turbo Volcano. I love your game shows.
Jesus Christ you just can't get cooler then this. Playing some Sega SG-1000 my god, I wish I was that cool...
Cgr continues, Yay! This reminds me of a game called STUN Runner which came out later one.
Congrats on making it to the Next Level...
Do the mk3 cards work on the Master System? I know the carts don't, but what about the "card" games?
+ZetZatar Both Mark III and SG-1000 carts and cards work on the Japanese Master System.
I used to play this one on my MSX.
The ship you are flying kinda looks like a mini Star Destroyer from Star Wars.
Love the way you say, ORTOOONNNAAA!!!!
great video mark
Dear Mark, do you connect the Mark3 via RF, or is it modded? Love your show! Cant wait for Future Mark ♡
Buck Rogers planet of zoom on Adam Computer system rocked! This looks quite difficult.
classic game room for ever!
Are the SG-1000 cards compatible with the Master System
?

+TheInsanemonkeyboy Only the Japanese model.
That game has some kick ass music
Want to play a better version of Buck Rogers? Arcade and ColecoVision versions.
I have no idea what console you have but it looks sweet! :D
You know what? I think this music is kinda nice, and the pseudo-3D effect isn't bad at all considering the age of the system...
Zoom 909 looks like a Star Destroyer fighting those bug ships from Galaga. Where can I get a copy?
love the Irish classic game room t shirt
can u buy them anywhere??
Will you review Smuggler's Run on PS2?
Wow is that 2D section hard to watch.
Cool favorite youtuber

LOL that giant middle finger
We all need more CGR … EDF EDF EDF…
The Nintendo Famicom and this game were both releases in 1985. The Famicom just destroyed the SG-1000 (for many reasons)!
Adam D The master system destroyed the NES
Cool game that starts 3d to 2d. The 2d part remains me of Thunder force 2/Star Destroyer Bosconian.
Actually the Arcade game opens with the trench run so the Sega-1000 and MSX are the closest ports really since all of the others skip it entirely.
Are you mark 1 mark 2 or mark 3
ALL HAIL THE VECTREX!!!
The space of 1985 with 909.
awesome
Just look at the black area with © SEGA on the right: Is this the 80s equivalent of today's mobile games' ads?
Not the best game but I'm glad they went with something different.
You see that!!! 294-0!!! NO ONE dislikes this shizz!!!
new video yay
i first watched this video on my xbox one and it didn't like the background of level 3. i almost threw up whenever the grid was moving at a high speed.
0:59 Or Master System
No for real, there is NO WAY a person can be more cool.
Who else thought he said fuck when he said buck at the beginning?
Sega Hu cards?
Disappointed you didn't try to jam the game card into a 2600/Vectrex or somesuch in the intro...
909 Inland Empire
someone should send mark a copy of god hand, that game is the shit.
Big consolé big game!!!!
Ortoooooona!
*EDF!*
not bad not bad :)
