Ce qui me fait marrer ces que a chaques fois qu' un coureur gagnait devant le roi eddy le gars bichai mais en 1977 comme aujourd'hui en 2022 le roi eddy merckx a toujours le palmarès de tout les temps et ce qui me rend heureu ces qu' eddy le roi est en forme et peu voir qu' il est toujours le plus grand . Longue vie à mon idole eddy merckx que dieu le protège.

It was a total lie. Classic DeVlaeminck. The Belgians took a decidedly different attitude against DeVlaeminck after that..................
Maertens said he was told by an official he would be disqualified for illegal wheel change but allowed to continue the race. Then he helped De Vlaeminck for money but did not fight for the win.
@@44irwi I think it was illegal BIKE change after the Koppenberg. It was supposed they must did it from the team car but Maertens did it from the road side.
"De grote drie" - they all seem pretty dik to me. Standards have changed, back then it was about surviving through the winter, these days riders spend a bit more time in the gym.
Get ready for this one, on the Koppenberg Freddy had a plan to change his bike. After the organization noticed this (when Maertens already was alone with De Vlaeminck) they decided to disqualify him, but they didn’t make him stop. When De Vlaeminck noticed this he offered Freddy 300.000 Belgian Francs to keep riding for him. And after riding non-stop for 70(!) kilometers the organization overturned the decision on his disqualification, and when they were at the finish his tank was completely empty. Furthermore, De Vlaeminck didn’t keep his word and proceeded to give 150.000 francs instead of 300.000, but to this day he still denies this.

Dopo Merckx ovviamente. Anche se Merckx ha diviso il suo dominio tra i 60 e i 70, con prevalenza sui secondi.

It's a great shame that he never became World road champion, he won everything else (Grand tours bing the exception)
