- The most comfortable saddle I have ever used. The Brooks C17 allows me to spend very long hours in the saddle allowing me to cover the miles necessary while long distance touring.
Finding the right saddle can be a daunting task. And while we are built differently and one saddle may work for one person and not another I think a lot of people would do themselves a favour to try out the Brooks C17 carved. Please let me know if you have any question at all. Cheers

Thanks for the recommendations. I really liked how you mentioned how individual saddles are. I work in a bike shop and my customers don’t always appreciate my honesty because they want to know what saddle is “the best”. But I think it’s better to be honest and not just say something that ends up to be totally wrong for them.
Also, quite brave of you to be so open about your mental health struggles! I wish you all the best.
And being real about the financial side of things is really needed in more videos on YT.

Thanks for this review. This was the exact saddle I was going to try next. Still looking for a good fit. After about day 6 on the saddle we start thinking about a rest day. After one day of rest, we can be back in the saddle for another 6-9 days. Peace and joy!

I know that the C17 works wonders for you. I wish my C15 had procured me the same benefits. If you recall, I had to sell it because it was just not for me. Good idea though to talk about saddles which are the most problematic part of a good bike fit. Take care friend.
Jaque I am wondering if maybe the C17 or C19 Might be the better choice for you? You are bigger than I am, just a thought. Maybe the C15 was to narrow?
@@WanderingEyeOutdoorAdventures Well, I took care to measure my sit bones and the measurement came out at 110mm. If you add the 25 to 30 mm suggested by the experts, the C15 should have been spot on at 140mm. But then again, I can't be sure without trying a C17, and that means having to buy it. In the meantime, my SMP's and my WTB Pure seem to be doing the job. What do you think?
@@JaqueParisien I would stick with what you have if it's working for you. Maybe if you ever feel the need for a new saddle in the future the C17 might be something to consider. Cheers
I must not have a tough butt, as you put it, as I found the Cloud-9 Comfort Airflow to be the single most comfortable saddle I've ever ridden. It's $30 USD and doesn't have all the springs and faff of their other saddles.
Perhaps when I get back in shape and toughen up a little I'll try a Brooks saddle in the future, but for anyone looking for more cushion, I can absolutely recommend the Cloud-9.
I have Brooks on all of my bikes. A C-17 on my fat-bike, B-17 on my touring bike and a B-67 on my city bike.

For those who are wondering, there is a huge fit difference between the C15 and the C17 because the C15 is narrower. After I discovered the C17, I ordered another for my second bike and the saddle I received was a C15 (in a C17 box). I didn't notice it was the wrong saddle, I put it on the bike and went for a ride and wow, was it uncomfortable FOR ME. On the other hand, the C17 is the most comfortable saddle I've ridden, which is why I now have 4 of them, one on each of my bikes! I'm sure the C15 works for some people, but not for me. By the same token, the C19 might be right for someone with wider hips.
Also, I did get a Fizik Vento Argo R3 Adaptive 3D saddle when I got my Trek Emonda and although I've been riding it for the past 2 years, I just took it off and put my C17 back on because it is just so much more comfortable.
Also, is there a "break-in" period with this saddle or can you use it asap? The original brooks takes a while to break in.
There is no break in period whatsoever! Attach and enjoy!
@@WanderingEyeOutdoorAdventures I thought so, but I wasn't sure. Since it is made out of the same material as a hockey puck, it should last a lifetime.
I got the c19, but i might try the c17 next summer.

How can a saddle with no padding be comfy?
What does padding do??
Padding spreads out pressure points forces.

The brooks saddles are little padless taint hammock's!
How can a place to sit or lay down be comfortable? By being a hammock.
