extremely helpful video! I used 10lb test fishing line + blow dryer + Goo Gone and the dryer worked VERY quickly - can't imagine taking the risk of a heat gun when the blow dryer was so fast (30-45 sec per badge). after the badges were off, the excess adhesive tape rolled right off by hand (2016 Toyota Highlander), so the Goo Gone was just for cleanup and took 60 secs (I could have skipped it!). then wiped clean and hand waxed. done! total time = heating badge, 1 min.; fishing line, 2 mins.; removing excess adhesive, 5 mins; Goo Gone and wiping clean, 5 mins. Difficulty level is like a 3/10. And this was my first time. Thank you!

I work at Finish Line Car Wash and Detail and we're professional but we don't do the cars you guys get but we do get Porsches and Mercedes and older cars and we use lacquer thinner to get anything sticky off and actually clean stains in carpet. You have to be careful with it though. Can't get it on anything plastic it will melt it and/or discolor it. But it works very well. And seems to be safe.

You have some great tutorial videos.
A couple of things. First and foremost before removing any badges make sure they are not mounted on. Many manufacturers mount them with two or more pins. If you remove it there will be holes in the bodywork. You can easily go to the dealer and ask them about that part and they can show you on a schematic how it is mounted.
There is an easier way to remove the glue. Instead of using a plastic razor (which can scratch the paint), take your finger (works best with rubber gloves) and roll the tape over itself. You start by just slowly rubbing a finger over a thin side of the glue and it will roll and ball up. It will make it much easier to remove the remaining glue as it sticks to itself.
I have removed badges for over 20 years and found this to be the easiest, safest and fastest method.

Instead of removing the left over goo, after removing as much as you can, I used a medium grade clay bar with clay lube. This way the best method & the came off right away after 6 swipes of the clay, maybe you guys should try this next time you remove emblems. Just an FYI

I used to do this pretty often at work,I would use heat to remove the badge with the fish gut, then let the left over glue cool down, apply something cold to the area, glue breaks down more so with cold, its much easier to remove,id use soap and water with the plastic blade to cause less friction.

Sometimes a piece of painters tape can be applied once most of the emblem is separated. Then you can continue to separate the rest without worrying about it falling. Then soak with Goo Gone and rub off with rubber glove covered finger with the aid of a heat gun. Then finish with a scratch remover compound and wax.
