Listening to this is like a new warm blanket you’ve never seen before but feels like one you’ve had your whole life
Amber always delivers these harmonic and instrumental setpieces that are epic, heavy and so uplifting to listen to. Every listen brings new accents i have yet heard when i listened to it first. It's such an intellectual and deeply introspective way of bringing the listener into what the music means to the artist. Gonna buy some tix to the next tour once it gets announced. One of my favorite artists of all time

Reflecting on your past self going fast in slow motion. Ugh. My depressed little heart feels so seen✨ This is why Amber’s been my favorite since I first found her eight years ago.
It's neat how around 0:06 the groove isn't yet solidified, so a first-time listener gets a few seconds to guess where the downbeat position is going to be revealed within that. And guessing wrong is part of the fun. Aimee Nolte did a video about "groove discrepancy" on that subject, that's fun to watch (the example there was Rufus w/ Chaka Khan "Tell Me Something Good" but this track here is going to be another good example of that admittedly nerdy concept)
The line “and if I grow I’m gonna get so old” is such a casual/obvious thing to say, but it hits so good

I discovered your music in mid 2020 and around that time met some one on a dating site that asked lots of questions about likes looking for compatibility and we both loved your music thus we met the very next day . We are still together and me life has been turned around 180 can't thank you enough the music and lyrics cut through me all tinged in beautiful sadness.
