@unchanging golovin Nobody, not Mourinho, not Guardiola, not Allegri, not Klopp, can take a club to the very very top level without a bigger budget for 3-4 transfer periods. Pochettino almost accomplished a miracle; that should not be held against him.

      that is actually false
i created a transfer plan to do exactly that and neither of those coached could do it because they're not as all round as complete as a background coach. my expertise is within player ability so figuring out how to exploit the market of football is easy for a mind like myself
yeah that would have been second to chelsea's cl win in terms of lucky miracles but wasn't meant to be. not a tactician at my level

What, so he could buy players better than Kane and Son? It's not like he's stuck with Ayew and McGoldrick. He's got good players in almost every position, has for several years now. If he had Fulham's squad and was given no budget, then yeah he'd be a victim of the board, but come on making top 4 shouldn't sound like such an achievement with this squad.

We were linked with Talents like Dybala, Coutinho and Atal. But since Levy was raising his Funds for the Stadium, they were unable to willingly let him Buy Players needed for flexibility
If your Team ever does get Pochettino as a replacement, then the Board should back him up which may be likely.

    Dear Mauricio,
As a Spurs fan all the way from Bangladesh I must apolozige for the way my club and fans have treated. Never in my worstest nightmares would I have thought that we would have to part ways like this, without any proper goodbye or the legendary farewell that you deserve. Tottenham Hotspur fans have been lucky to get such a good being human being as their manager, who could connect with the players and fans such a way that it made us feel like your family. So parting ways with feels like such a huge loss and I am empty and hurt inside. After all the magic, emotions and glorious memories that you provided for us, after shedding tears of great joy together and sharing great frustration and utter devastation when falling short, this was never the way you were supposed to go. You deserved a lot more respect and more time ofcourse than you were given in times of adversary. Hence I would like to apologize from the bottom of my heart, everyone in the club will always respect, honor and love what you have done for us. The world knows us differently now because of you and your staff. You have given us a face. You will all always be club and fan legends and whatever happens from here on end, very few people I'm sure would be able to deliver what you gave us. That is a bond and connection, a feeling of unity, closeness abd warmth. Whenever I saw you in the press conferences, I forgot all the previous grief or pain of our last defeat because of the wonderful human being that you are. Please don't ever let anyone or anything in the world change that. Always be the amazing and kind human being that you are and please always love Spurs, because we will always love you. Like you joked a few month ago in the award ceremony, atleast now you would finally be "winning trophies" that are so long overdue. It will take time for me to get used to life in Spurs without Poch but I guess the show must go on. MUARICIO POCHETTINNO YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MAGIC YOU KNOW.

Even if players like Kane are only 26 and should just be hitting their prime, they've had 5-6 or "almost". So close to getting a trophy but never doing it. Just signing 3 new players doesn't change the fact that this same group of players have been playing together for half a decade now and haven't won any trophies. Either the players need to be reinvigorated or the squad does with new hungry players, as well as replacing players that have gotten too comfortable. I respect everything Poch has done for the club, but as time goes on sometimes you feel that it's time to move on; he just seemed like a guy that always had it on his mind, I mean after the CL final he said he would have left if they won. To me, that just sounds like he wanted a new challenge and there is nothing wrong with that, maybe he felt things weren't working out at the club as he envisioned thus being let go by the club.
As far as Mourinho goes, I think this is an ideal manager hiring, you have a manager that has proven he can win trophies and yes some out there don't give Mourinho any love, but it's like any manager if the results aren't up to the standards of the board or fans then people will turn on you. I'm sure he understands that, and say he wins multiple trophies in the next 2-4 years I feel like Spurs fans and media will say he's one of the best managers in Spurs history. To be honest, I think the year off for Mourinho seems to have benefited him, he was able to reset and think about things while being a pundit on sky sports lol which will always be one of their best hirings hahaha. I always tuned into sky sports whenever he was on the show.
We will see what will happen now to say 2-4 years, if he hasn't won a trophy during that time frame and there becomes a negative vibe within the club again he'll most likely go and of course people will bash Mourinho again lol but as I mentioned before if he wins multiple trophies in that time span then he will be a fan/board favorite. The guy won the UCL with FC Porto back in 2004, I don't know much about that team, but I don't think they had any superstar players on that team. He worked with what he had and made it work which hopefully will translate to the same with Tottenham of 2019 and beyond.

I've just had a thought, as a united fan of twenty years..
The only manager I've seen in my lifetime leave our club and head to another one in the same league was David Moyes to Sunderland. Didn't care because he was widely unpopular and Sunderland were relegation candidates.
Mourinho to Spurs stings a little bit, because they're a step up in terms of squad. Tbf though he's chose another toxic boardroom to work for, and it won't last.
All in all, I'd rather back someone who's vision I believe in, even if the results aren't quite there. I'm happy to lose a few years heading to Old Trafford for European nights, if a manager is given the time to produce what Pochettino produced at Tottenham.. Good young signings, debuts for English players, entertaining football. I think Ole is doing this, and I do worry that every loss could be his last because half of the fan base just expect success in the world's most competitive league.
We'll get our chance. The spine of the Liverpool team isn't particularly young, and City's more recent signing don't compare to the likes of David Silva, Kompany, Aguero, and co. who helped the club soar.

This can go either really badly: classic Mourinho drama. Or Mourinho wins 1 big trophy with Tottenham..... and still leaves with drama.
I can't see Mourinho having a long and healthy relationship with Levy. They will most likely be super friendly towards each other in the media during the first stages of Mourinho's stay there. But then transfer windows will come and the risk of a falling out between them rises. Mourinho wants player X, Levy thinks he's too expensive or tries to get him but doesn't try his very best and gets someone else... which Mourinho then benches. I really wouldn't be surprised.

He took them as far as he could, plus failure to resolve the Eriksen, Alderweireld and Vertongen contract issue and poor start to the season cost him his job.

The problem is the non footballing ambitions of Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy, spurs are viewed more as commodity than a football club. The sacking of Pochettino was carried out unethically and very similar to the way Martin jol was dismissed. Now.... The problem lies with the owners. To sack the best manager we've had in decades and not fully back the man, expecting him to work miracles with a little to nothing budget. The reality of the situation for many spurs fans is that the owners of the club are so far out of touch with the supporters. I would urge every spurs fan to let the feelings of discontent known towards to the board at the next home game. The way in which Pochettino and his staff were dismissed was disgusting. Failure to listen to what your manager needs and expecting him to work wonders with the same ingredients for 5 years shows how our owners have no interest in refreshing the squad to be able to at least compete with the top 2 clubs in the country. On another note take that amazon documentary and shove it up your arses Mr Lewis and Mr levy. Famous words of Keith Berkinshaw "there used to be a football club over there".
