I love all your new makes! Socks just make me so happy. I completely agree about the yarn dyers! I want it all, but I simply can’t afford to buy more. I have the funds, but not the physical space or mental space for it all. I know from being a quilter that there will ALWAYS be more supplies down the line that I find appealing, once I knit up everything I have now. So far, so good. I like your approach as well. YES to knitting socks in tandem!!! I'm so glad that method is working for you - I was knitting socks in tandem while watching/listening. I've also knit "scrappy" (sometimes from not full cakes and some times from full cakes) Musselburgh Hats - basically the vanilla hat of the vanilla sock. I don't know if that made sense but I think you know what I mean lol. Stockinette round and round. Anyway, lots of options to play with color and to create beautiful fabric!! Tandem knitting has seriously changed my knitting life!! haha and ooh yes. that totally makes sense. The Musselburgh is most def the vanilla sock of hats! Dang. Now I'm all thinking about how I might want to play around with it again in the coming colder months.. ahhh seriously, I hope we can figure out a way to sit down for that cup of coffee one day. OMG you inspired me! I have alllll the same feels about my stash so I go up and started a project for my grandson that I have been feeling the “pressure” to make!! THANK YOU!!!
You are a sock machine! For my kids, I make socks without heels because they last longer as their feet grow. There's a cool helical (or helix) sock pattern where you just work a 3x3 rib and move the pattern by one stitch every 6 rows. It fits around the heel and lasts until the leg gets so short they start to complain!
ahhhh i've been seeing that! I've been super interested in trying that out but I've been curious about how the fit is. Thanks for bringing that to my attention again - is there a pattern on Ravelry/Etsy for this? Love the suggestion!
@@therapybycraft Yes! There's a free pattern called Spiral Socks by La Maison Rililie. The pattern is toe-up but you can use the chart cuff-down (which is what I did). I think the fit is great but let us all know what you think if you make some!
Seeing all your socks is so inspiring! I also love the idea of taking inspiration from sock collections you already own skeins from. Also I'll be attending the SoCal Fiber Fair too! My in-laws live super close to the venue so may end up just staying the night with them so I don't have to drive in from LA both days :)
