- Here's The NEW 2019 Porsche Carrera (992) 911 FIRST LOOK! Porsche have fitted the new 911 Carrera 4S with a 450bhp turbo charged engine, it is also the first non-GT Porsche 911 to be fitted with larger rear wheels vs the front wheels - 20" fronts, 21" rears. The new Porsche 911 also features heavily revised interior and exterior styling with new infotainment screens on t he inside and a large sweeping LED lighter at the rear of the car.

I love the hidden cup holders. They disappeared for serious driving.
Old cup holders were cool but how many times I had my drink spilled on the screen/dash? Too many. The driver cup holder is basically on top of the central console, cold drinks condensation inevitably dripping on it

150 just over, but that was fully specced,ceramics all the bells and whistles.

Just watched the Carfection video before yours aired. They quoted 444bhp and 3.4 to 62mph? I'm confused.
It’s definitely 3.4 and 3.2 with sport Chrono
I think James just made a mistake. He said. "4" rather than "3 point 4".
3.4s for 4S PDK Sport chrono, 3.6 for the S.
Add 0.2 for the no-sport chrono, so: 3,6 for 4S and 3,8 for S

Totally is... I haven't been a fan at all of the 911 design in the past just because of their plain, dated and boring design features but this is something that excites me about their future design direction

Great video James.
1. After seeing several test mules of the 992, I can't help but think that they could've mounted the position of the rear numberplate higher than where it is now, but I'm sure its a matter of time we'll get use to it. Can't judge everything through just watching photos+videos online haha
2. The way the 992's bonnet joins the front bumper and front wings in that sharp angular way is like a retro throwback to the short wheel base 911's look at the front.
3. Obviously with the wider track, it will handle very well but I'm a little worried that the 992 might be less 'checkable' as the narrowbodied RWD Carreras but we'll have to wait and see.
4. It'll be a challenge for the GT3 to be faster than the Carrera models, if it is to continue using that legendary 9000rpm naturally aspirated engine (although honestly I don't care too much about 0-60/top speed figures as sound throttle response + power delivery are a higher priority to me).
5. Keyless entry makes things pretty easy for thieves to hack - hope there are precautionary measures to avoid such thing from happening!
6. I know we need to progress/evolve as years go by but it really was a shame that Porsche ditched the staple all analog 5 gauge cluster - I love watching many moving mechanical parts. Having said that, I love the minimalistic look of the interior overall as found in the latest panamera.
7. Hopefully Porsche will release the wingless GT3 Touring - most likely they will as there is a video of a test mule in Monza circuit 👌

@@timmy9796 There's test mules of the 992 GT3 touring running on Monza Circuit. Search on youtube. It keeps the naturally aspirated high revving engine but doesn't have a wing.

Surely nobody would need more performance than this for driving on the road with traffic and speed limits. Why would anyone need to bother with a turbo and turbo s model etc?
Yeah it's very easy to complain about fuel prices but when you think about it it's exploding dinosaur juice and costs about as much as milk

That gear selector is ridiculous
GY, I love it. It looks so unique, and looks...clunky (which is a good thing because 911 interiors are known to be clunky and boxy.
It’s a trademark 911 thing.
It looks like it would take the pleasure out of using manual with the 991 PDK shifter which fits naturally into your hand. For me, a negative.
Someone broke it, and they left it there broken, now they are saying that's the final version.

@@Alby911 PDK is designed with a manual mode using the gearshift lever as well as the steering wheel buttons. Very satisfying. Can't imagine that the 992 shifter can be used in this way, but will give it a try. I hope that the 911 isn't getting away from the old-school features that make it so desirable.
Cup holders for life... I'll miss them
I never understood purpose of cupholders in the car... If I need to stop for a coffee on the road, I drink the coffee on gas station/in a restaurant (you should not drink/eat while driving anyway). And if you are a passenger, you can simply hold a drink in your hands. Or just use a bottle for cold drinks...

@@MetalMike50 You can have a bottle anywhere in the car. Usually on empty seat.. And if seat is not empty, just on the foor, glovebox, trunk or whatever :)

@@Spazik86 yep, that makes no sense. Conventional cup holders are awesome because you can stick your phone in them if you dont have any bottles. I always hated the origami style cup holders, they where sketchy AF when going fast.

The middle rev counter somehow doesn't fit... I mean I love the retro look of it, but I'd prefer the "older" version with all the dials in same style.

I love the ""old"" PDK lever, you feel like you're using some sort of cloche of an airplane! That new thing, meh, kinda sad. But god this 992 looks so good in that Gt silver!
Oh btw i read here and there that the 0-62mph is 3,4s for the 4s pdk sport chrono, really really impressive, i cant even imagine what the Turbo S will capable to do!
Agree. The new lever is out of place.
I personally don't like the old style where the lever moves position. This new in-place levers that are on all new cars I like a lot more.

The new gear lever was made by Braun. Snap it out on your way to work, and arrive clean-shaven!

Very nice car... But the tail pipe doesn't do it for me... they are too big (proportion) and not rounded (oval shape). the rest of the car is fine I think... Well, the tachometer and the gear lever are not quite right either!. As always very good review!

They’re the optional sports exhaust, as standard they come with a quad pipe set up that are further apart which I prefer, it’s now on Porsche’s configuration which is always a good means of killing 10 minutes haha

super review, but the car....really don't like it:
1. no more natural aspiration, only the "turbo" should be a turbo
2. the gear lever is a button, needs a lever.
3. hate the almost all digital 5 gage cluster,
4. classic porsche cupholder gone;
5. all wide bodies? wtf. guess cheaper to make 1 chassis
6. back side is even huger then 991
7. 991 and 992 too big for my taste
8. guess i'm 997 guy.

Abhishek Gupta not really, it would save half a kilo probably and with all of the other rubbish inside, it’s negligible at best. It’s poor design and less driver orientated.

You're not meant to use it while driving, for shifting gears you got pedals at the steering wheel. It's just for parking, backwards etc.
At least that's how I understand it.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the interior? The instrument cluster doesn’t look very refined to me. The ‘gear lever’ looks a bit boring to me as well.

my only problem with the interior is that gear lever... its a sports car ffs. Put in a proper gear lever
My issue is how the rest of the dashboard flows with the touch screen. It looks blockish like it's from GTA V and I don't like that. The interior on the rival F Type is much better looking

Interior is near identical to new Panamera and Cayenne. I work on Porsche’s and the interiors get so damn dirty & greasy due to the screens and shiny plastic. There’s no way I could own a new Porsche model, you really need to clean the screen, and the centre console every day the dust and dirt is just attracted there

the rear end around the exhaust manifold looks bad , its cheap plastic , if you are paying 80,000 £ for a car , that should not look that cheap

You can option the “rear apron painted” (not available yet) which covers the plastic.

Negnat Repsej the test mule doesn’t look much like the production version will so it’s not relevant.

5 seconds faster is a huge on most tracks, but not the ring. 5 seconds on the Nurburgring is not that much at all.

@@kraenk12 additional part's and tweaks to tuning for performance and efficiency. Slight changes like this effect ergonomics, theatre, audio etc etc.. adversely or even positively sometimes.

The rear strip light on Porsche’s make them have crazy presence on the road
60bhp less than an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, twice the price, looks worse than a 997. Other than that it's great.
