hahahah as an urban planner I do not blame the drivers who are "box-blocking", as "box-blocking" is simply a result of a roadway being at full capacity. (in other words, its the city's fault that traffic gets that bad in the first place)

What about the cops that don't follow the rules. There was a video of a cruiser doing the same thing a few weeks ago. And nothing gets done with them either. Just Doug Ford telling us we have to bend down to the knee for them, and buy em a coffee. ...

Maybe instead of punishing people who are driving in a car-centric city, maybe design it so that they don't need to drive??? Like why are they so focused on punish, punish, punish and not SOLVING the actual problem.

My friend not just bikes., we live in a left wing hypocritical idiotic province. Let's satanic. We need 15 minutes cities like the Netherlands like Amsterdam like Germany Japan. Not just bikes explains a lot of it. Perfectly but people refuse to watch those type of videos. And the conservatives will just end up making more suburban sprawl and more dense shopping areas and tons of roads and strodes. People say we need greeners environments but I don't see anybody riding a bicycle I don't see anybody building a 15-minute city I don't see industries allowing Farmers to work on their own vehicles. Like if we had something like in the Netherlands we wouldn't really need electric cars we could still run on gas perfectly fine and the environment would still be way much better because well less people would be driving but gas would still be relevant. And electric vehicles are just complete garbage literally garbage dangerous and horrible for the environment far worse than gasoline and Diesel Diesel's actually the cleanest out of all. But we are so focused on car centric mentality that we can't focus on actual cleaner alternatives but this is what you get when you just keep on shoving garbage down everybody's throats and pure poliviera is just not going to make these type of housing plans whatsoever he's just going to keep on doing what everybody else has been doing for the last few decades of making it worse sure we're going to have decreased taxes and no more job Trudeau but don't Bank on your buck for having a better infrastructure though and a common sense an actual common sense prime minister especially the fact that it's gatekeeped by French. Which they should just leave Canada altogether

"Its frightening" to have to walk around a car that is stuck not moving??? Who is this person? Get a grip. DONT enter an intersection you cant exit needs to be standard thought, but somtimes a car will decide to stop in the middle of the road and put blinkers on, or some nut case on the road, or everybody having to adjust because sombody is "on a bike ride", and then some person 8 cars back gets stuck in a crosswalk and ends up with $450 fine?? Because these toddlers are "frightened" to walk around a parked car???

They should be increasing all traffic fines by a factor of ten. It will help the city get out of its 8-billion-dollar debt. People who own cars can afford to pay fines or learn to drive properly.

    • @Mr._POV_

I guess when you box block traffic next time, you'd pay those fines and reduce debts generously.

Remove the Bike Lanes and then the Vehicles have some where to park. The Cyclists are eating up valuable road space that is needed to solve the traffic problem. They should not be on our roads. And many do not wear helmets, they have no insurance or drivers license or license plate. And they do not obey the rules of the road. The Gridlock is costing the economy. Get rid of the bikes to help the traffic. Common Sense.

Pretty sure you aren't supposed to go past an intersection if the road ahead past the light is full.

@deanmean6657 you do realize it is in the MTO regarding intersections right? You aren't suppose to go pass an intersection if there is no space.
There has been a lot of people doing that and honestly it is time for fines. People can wait for another light. However, they choose to move ahead in the middle of an intersection.
What does cyclist have to do with anything? Cyclists run red lights and they should honestly go to jail for that.

When I was a teenager living in Toronto the norm 25 years ago was that if you blocked which seldom people would bc the other drivers would honk at you and some would even get out of vehicle and yell and approach your vehicle. People just accepted it was the social norm to not do it. Now we have newcomers which do not understand the ways here and over time things changed. Different people. The main problem is we have too many people in Toronto now with the government not planning accordingly. Look at what Canada has turned into. We have had really bad politians over the years. I would say government has abused Canadians. Most people can't even survive here anymore. Housing, jobs, no food chain competition. Increase prices. Its a garbage country now....better off moving to UK or USA....many better options out there then here.

There is a health concern with the human traffic wardens being exposed to toxic carbon monoxide exhaust for hours at a time. This is why we need automated camera-based enforcement.

The top comment saying they should be increasing traffic lanes is the stupidest thing I've ever read. They need to be DECREASING lanes. It sounds counter-intuitive but by making other forms of transportation more viable and decreasing the reliance on cars; less people on the road = less traffic. I hope people that like don't actually live in Toronto because they're blocking our city from actually becoming more walkable.
