I have gone through the dispatch test twice and going on my 3rd, with three different agencies. I found the Sheriff Dept process was a lot lengthier and more intense. Before you even get an interview, I had to complete the typing test, the CritiCall test and fill out over 60 pages of information, very very personal sexual information included. I passed everything until the background check was done. Unfortunately they do not tell you what or why you were disqualified. I have no criminal record or traffic tickets. I do have family members affiliated in criminal activity, not something that should be disqualifying because like you said, those people are NOT you. The detectives did say you would be disqualified if you have lower than a certain credit score and NO debt/collections other than a mortgage or car is acceptable. That is what I assume is what disqualified me at the time because I had been in a car accident and lost my job which led to financial issues. This disqualification does not make sense in certain situations because you can not get out of debt if you can not get a job that pays enough for basic living plus debt. At the 2nd agency it was for a local PD, they required a typing certificate taken physically, not online, so I had to find an Employment Agency that offered typing tests/certificates. The next step was the CritiCall testing which was held at a Civic center because of the mass amount of applicants who already passed their basic testing when applying. Once I passed the CritiCall test, I waited for a panel interview. I did not pass the interview with a high enough score and it is probably because I gave too much information away about me being in an accident, getting injured and how that affected the job I had for years prior. I was also nervous and even got the panel detectives laughing at times with some of the experiences I gave them examples of. I just submitted my typing certificate for this 3rd local PD for dispatch. I am hoping I am not so nervous for the interview. I have the fear that I will be disqualified for telling them that within the last 2 years I did try a medical marijuana card to get myself off of pain meds for my injuries. I have a lot of family past and presently in law enforcement. I wanted to become an officer but since I was injured that is no longer an option because of the physical testing and academy you have to go through. I am a Psychology major, a mother, a wife, a law abiding citizen, licensed to carry, productive member of the community and I am praying to God it is his will for me to have this position. Thank you for the video! I think the hardest parts of the testing process is the psych evaluation and the lie detector testing, especially because you are asked extremely personal information you do not share outside your bedroom and even things that may have happened during your childhood that can be humiliating or painful. Nonetheless, do not be discouraged. Do the best you can, be honest ALWAYS! If you do your best and you still do not get chosen, try again. If you really want this type of career, try hard for it. If that fails, at least you know you tried to the best of your ability and then aim for a similar position. Good luck everyone
I applied and found you on UA-cam and I must say, I passed three counties criticall exam because of you. Now I am in the hiring process. Thank you sis!!!!
I just wanted to tell you this video is so helpful! I passed my test, had my background interview, had my polygraph test and now I'm waiting for the next step!
My Critical and interview and 911 dispatch on call pre test is this week. I had to apply online through the city website for this application. It took about a month before i got the call for all of this! Everything is going to be on this coming Tuesday. Watching these videos hopefully will help me know what to expect. Thank you for your time you put in the video upload - Ill let you all know how this goes for me!!!
I just applied like three weeks ago and received a reply last week and took the criticall test ... nervous but so ready to start...thanks for this information. Video well needed
I am so glad that I found you. I am working on my GED and then I am going to apply for the Dispatcher job here in my town. I have some Luitenents and officers helping me by putting in a good word and writing recomendations. I have been sober for 6 years going on 7. I am so ready to do this! I know I have no clue what it will be like but I am ready for the next stage of my life.

Luckily they don’t do anything like this here in Connecticut.. you apply for the job, take a drug test have a background check and have on the job training. You just have to obtain all of your certificates within a year of employment. No polygraph, no extra tests, nothing… making $30an hour

Hi Laura! Thank you so much for this video. I’m in the middle of the hiring process for a Campus PD dispatcher position. I passed the Criticall test, and I have an interview with them on Thursday. I’ve never been involved in any criminal activity or drugs, but other than that, I am the poster child of imperfection. I had somewhat of a tragic childhood and a traumatic adolescence and young adulthood. I’ve suffered a lot of loss and emotional abuse, and I’ve allowed that to cause me to make some crazy decisions (a couple of tickets, a couple of accidents, job hopping, school, debt). I know someone who works there, and that could either be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending. Out of these, which ones could potentially disqualify me for the position? I have nothing to hide, but I’m so nervous and feel super insecure about my past.
Passed my critical test, they did a home visit and I’m taking my polygraph test next week 😬 I’m more nervous about the academy it’s 4 weeks, but I recently found out I’m pregnant and don’t know how soon it will be and I’m wondering if I can hide being pregnant and get the 4 weeks over with 🤔🤔🤔
I have been watching your videos and I just got confirmation with my Sherriffs office to put my two weeks in at my current job today! This is a huge change and I’ve never done anything like this before, what should I expect or be prepared for? And what’s the training like?
I just got the email that my application has been selected to move forward. I am very nervous but excited is out of my career but i believe this a sign of god to trust him.
I’m from Canada and I know it’s different but your videos have helped relax a little... I passed the Critical Test and I have an interview on Wednesday
Laura thank you so much! After watching your videos you gave me so much confidence and they passed me on to phase II of the hiring process. Do you have a video of phase II which may include a polygraph, physical and or psychological test…thank you!
Hey, i took my 911initial test. First two are timed. They monitor keystrokes per minute. It is 4960 per minute. I did not pass, only 3985. So you don`t advance to next step. Of the 12 of us starting, only 3 were left. That is the process for palm beach county. It is not as easy as you may think. Excellent vision is also required, as print is small, if you have near sighted issues even with glasses. I tried. Not sorry i did. Just disappointed. If you have not been on a computer with alphanumeric experience, practice practice practice before you apply. I was told i could try again in 3 months, but to practice on software specifically for speed. Also, at the same time you are typing, emergency alerts come through and you need to dispatch appropriate service while doing data entry. That was just first 10 minutes of 3 hour test, after first 2 exams that are timed, you can take your time. They stated they are open till 10pm. We started at 5pm. I was done at 5:35. I have to at least give myself credit for trying. Have not used typing skills since 2001. I guess i will stay in health and wellness. 🙏
I am so sorry that you did not pass this time. But now you know and if you are interested in trying again you have a good start. We had to have good vision as well but it could be corrected. I have the worst vision but, corrected its 20/20. Hoping that all is well in the future! Keep us posted on what you do next!
Thanks for this video. I commented on a different video you posted and I will be taking the test next week. I have a squeaky clean background and to the best of my knowledge so does my family (sister and mom) I will not have any problem passing a background check (drugs, criminal, or employment) I have had one speeding ticket in the past 10 years. I never really gave 911 dispatching consideration as a career but since I am seeking employment and have been researching this line of work...it has really peeked my interest. I watch a lot of shows like COPS, Live PD and such and find them to be great shows and exciting. I know I could do this job and being a part of law enforcement would be AMAZING...
I will let you know...although I have been scheduled for an interview on Friday 7/20...they didn't mention if I would be taking the Criticall Test, however I am sure that I will be taking it or at least I am going in with the mindset that I will be taking it. I understand why they make you take that test...but I wish it was more of just the background, drug, polygraph and typing test all of those I know I will pass with no problem. I am just trusting that all will go well next Friday and I move forward to the next phase of the hiring process. I have never been so excited about a career before.
How do you become a 911 operator? Like what does the schooling look like / how long does it take to become one, can yoh shadow someone before becoming a 911 operator.
Hello, I'm a student who wants to be a nine-one-one dispatcher. This video is helpful but I have one question, I have a visual impairment and I want to know if I can still do this job? It will be nice if you contact me back.
Ask to sit in dispatch and observe. It will help you get a feel for what is needed to do the job. You will be able to see all the equipment they use and if you have the visual acuity to get the job done.
Hello Laura, I know this was posted a while ago, however I just got a phone call and email for my panel interview with my local police department for tomorrow morning! I am not sure exactly how they do their process so we shall see! I know each agency is different ,I haven't been told anything about the Criticall test or anything so maybe they do it at a different point in the hiring process. Gratitude from Florida, Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us! Ali
good afternoon!! good luck with everything tomorrow! I would be prepared just in case! you’ll do great!!! sorry I hadn’t responded. Life has thrown me some curve balls lately 😳 and I’m just bouncing back!
what if you been a stay at home mom for the past 15 years? I don't have any work history or references to list cuz it's been SO long since I've worked.
I just had my interview via video chat today w/two ppl workin 4Milwaukee police department, it was a oral board interview & im very anxious to know what’s going to happen😬 yo videos really helped me especially on passin the criticall test! I’m just waiting on them to let me know if I passed my interview 🤞🏽 definitely want this & praying on it🙏🏽
I just had my background check completed, Ehthang CLEAN just my background check not so good, hopefully they see pass that but anotha question I had was do they watch you as you PEE ?
Does anyone on here know how long the background check takes? I just turned my packet in a few days ago and am getting pretty nervous/anxious. I’ve job hopped a lot in my past and am worried that will bite me in the butt during this process. There are a few other things I’m worried about as well. If the investigator looks through the packet and sees automatic things that will disqualify you will he let you know right away or do they keep doing the investigation and let you know at the end?
It takes a while. They call all of your references, all of your past employers and all of places that you’ve lived. They will verify the entire packet of information. It can take more than a month sometimes… it just depends on how fast people respond. Unfortunately…. Good luck with everything and thanks for watching!!
Loura im alittle rusty on my typing speed. They say you have to atleast type 35wpm. Im about 5wpm shy. Will that hinder my chance of being a 911 dispatcher?
I had my interview first and they said they want someone who has never done it before they want to train someone, today I got a call back to take the criticall test. Does this mean I got the job?
So I'm nervous about the test and not sure what to expect they said it would take about 2 1/2 hours to complete my typing is about average with 30 to 40 wpm but my spelling sometimes is off when I type fast I have dyslexia and sometimes when I type small things like and it may come out adn
@@brittanyjones9672 every agency has different requirements for typing speed/ accuracy and different tests they use to evaluate applicants. The agency I work for only requires 25 wmp and accuracy doesn't matter. We use a audio CD that reads the test to you and you fill out an answer sheet. The test covers memory recall, listening skills, following directions and mapping skills. I'm not sure why we don't use criticall. We also have a personality test. We don't eliminate anyone based on the personality test but it factors in to overall score of a candidate. We use the overall score to select to top 8-10 candidates to proceed to panel interviews.
I got a call-back to go to an orientation. I'm excited but intimidated by the multitasking. I CAN, I'm just nervous. The reading, spelling, maps --I'm good. Just worrying about the typing. :( Listening skills I'm good, too! Oh, I have Indeed as well...they're great! Anyway, Laura, any advice? The orientation is Aug. 3, 2018. I applied and got a call right away! They said I had the minimum requirements. So...thanks for your informative videos!!
@@IceESole Hi! I actually did not...am still studying for my MS in Trauma Counseling. I feel like handling the intensity of stress required for 911 op. isn't 1 of my strong points so it's best I didn't get the job....could have put someone's life in danger... Thank you for asking! (✿◡‿◡)🤍
So the Criticall is after the background? Because I took a 2.5 hour assessment with those calls and questions in the pre-employment briefing at the beginning
Laura, hey thanks for your info, it is extremely valuable. I have a few questions, is the typing test relatively basic? They expect me to type 40 wpm which is fine, but is it a basic typing exam or is it one of those exams that throw a lot of curve balls at you? Another thing, is the critical test super complicated? What to expect? Please reply this will mean the world to me! Thanks for your videos!
Is it important to have a drivers license? The department im interested in requires one but I’m not sure if it’s actually necessary and I don’t want to waste an application because here, is one application per year.
Hey sorry I’m just getting to this. But here’s a video that you may find helpful!! Becoming a 911 Dispatcher: Panel Interview and Polygraph Exam ua-cam.com/video/w80XZ2GraF4/v-deo.html
Hey, so I’m looking into becoming a 911 dispatcher after Highschool, and at one point you said you need to put your mothers information. What if someone were to not have a mother/isn’t in contact with them?
Lizette Arroyo hey there!! Every agency is different. I’ve done it 3 different orders... but basically the order u have is accurate. The drug screen I took was urine.
Just received a call for an interview after 3 weeks submitting a application. Does this mean i will be taking the criticall when i go for the interview?
Heyyy!!!! I would say there aren’t any books to pass the exam that I know! Google criticall and my video will come up! Watch it for everything you need!
Hi, I just got a call to come in for a typing test and they said there's another test. Is this extra testing the criticall or is there a test before that? Thanks!
Daveney Von thanks so much for watching!! Congrats on your interview!! Just be yourself... and rock it! Stay calm and answer the questions honestly! It’s a bit intimidating especially if there are officers involved but just remember they are people as well! Just stay calm! Let me know how it goes!!
Laura Bryant girl I stumbled so bad but tried to light the situation as best I could.. I don’t know what went over me!! Tried my best. I doubt I got it but we gonna see lol
Hey there... good luck with everything. You will have to take a hearing test as part of the physical. If you do not pass that test it could disqualify you. But they may work with it... but hearing is very important and necessary. Good luck
@@LauraBryant Once upon a time I was a candidate for the NYPD. I went for the medical in Queens. It was an all day thing, X-ray, blood pressure , eye test, go into a room with other guys in your underwear. Is the medical for 911 operator the same?
@@adelgado75 Yes, it is. I start training next month. It is was a tedious process. You must undergo a drug test as well, but they use a hair sample instead of blood or urine.
@@heatherbrowne2597 A hair sample?! That gives them a more detailed report of drug use. I believe it shows several months of any drug use. And I like my weed.
Hello. I just took the CritiCall test. I did well on every part except the "listen to the 8-9 letter & number sequence, pause, then type" ....lol. Idk maybe it was nerves. But it allowed me to complete all of the required tests. They said we have to wait a few weeks go hear back from them. I'm excited to get this rolling! 😂 Thank you for your helpful videos.
Hey there!! YESSSS... I totally understand!! That portion had me like... I know I did not pass! The computer even "glitched" and I thought I was done!! BUT I passed!!! You are so welcome!! Hopefully you pass and will be behind a headset in no time!! Thanks for watchin!
@@LauraBryant I had the interview and was chosen to be part of the next training class in January. Training here is 6 months!! I'm excited to learn and thankful to The Lord for this opportunity!! Thank you also for all of your encouragement and videos!!!
@Laura Bryant, hello Laura I took the critical test yesterday. And I am certain I did not pass. I think I really messed up at listening and trying to type the information and answer the calls that popped up at the lower right side and pick the correct agency.😥
I was wondering if you can make more than minimal wage for this job and how many hrs you can work and what are the benefits. I know if might be different depending on the state or company but is it a government job? Would really help me out a lot before I try and apply. Thank you!
The Real Simpson's Vlogs I’m in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and no agency starts out at minimum wage. My agency paid 17-20 starting. Benefits are good since technically it is working for city government.
I am also in Orlando and just put in the application last week. I just scheduled my first test after an email back. I'm so nervous! I hear it's a long process. Good luck if you decide!
Hello! Was wondering if there are resources for the dispatchers when they receive a call that effects them personally? I am doing my research on this type of field and just curious if I would be a good fit. Thank you!
I did the test, passed, had my interview, and now it’s been almost two weeks-ish since the interview. I hope I get the job but I’m worried that maybe I didn’t pass the interview because I would love an update. UPDATE: didn’t get the job unfortunately:///
Hi, I am blind but I really want to be a 911 dispatcher. is that possible? Will I be able to be one? I just turned 18 but it's something I'd like to end up doing but I'm blind. Could I still do it? Thank you.
Hey there. I am not sure how to answer you question. That is more that likely a question that you would need to ask HR to see if the agency could accommodate. I hope that is helpful. Thanks for watching!
Ebony P. Hey the process was very long and I made it all the way to the panel interview and the guy who interviewed me was such a jerk and rude he was overpowering the women and talking down on how much I haven’t had much work experience so I ended up not getting the job at all 🙁
Aww. I am so sorry to here this. I am hearing plenty of horror stories. I have a great job, great benefits and giving up a lot to move. I am using my 1 year explority to find a job. I am waiting on some to hopefully call me for interview with dallas water and sanitation. I have 911 for dallas, frisco and mesquite. I prefer mocing to cedar hill/ desoto area.
Ebony P. That would be awesome I truly hope you get it . Yes I was so excited then boom it went downhill . I guess it was a blessing in disguise because I’m a mother of 3 and I know the hours are long . I started my own business doing what I love event decorating so I’ve been doing that the past two years now
Hey Laura, I just received my email for the first time. It says your qualified to take the next step in moving forward. The link below is for the online test. Was just wondering if you have any types or how to keep calm when taking the test. Your videos so far are great thank you.
hey this was very helpful... I have one question, what if you don't really have a good job history or haven't worked in a long time period? should I still apply?
Hey Laura Hoping if you can answer a question for me. I went through all the process. I have passed the polygraph test, the psychology exam. I took my drug test last Thursday so it’s been a little over a week since then. How long does it usually take for it to come back? I’m just excited to start lol
Hey there... I've applied for a 911 dispatcher in my area and I haven't gotten a call yet but it's only been two days since I filled out the application lol.I've never been a 911 dispatcher but I was told to apply anyway ..I am very nervous about the interview. What should I expect? Type of questions?
Katima Williamson sometimes it takes a while to respond! It took about 3 weeks for me to hear back after I had applied... just be patient! Unfortunately, I can not disclose the types of questions that were asked in my interview 😥 but just relax! You will be fine!
my personal statement packet was 59 pages! I filled out three for three different cities around dallas…have my first panel interview tomorrow, with some sort of test before the interview starts. Any idea what that test is like? Thank you so much for these videos! They have been so helpful in this whole process
Not in and of itself. It depends on what it was, how long ago and the factual circumstances. Misdemeanors unlike felonies are usually decided on a case by case basis. A go way to start is go to the website of your local school district and search for the hiring criteria section. Most of them list what crimes will disqualify you from working with that school district. See if you are qualified to work with children at a school. If so you will likely qualify to work as a 911 dispatcher.
It depends on the agency, but most I have seen like you at or above 35. Keep practicing! www.typingtest.com/test.html?textfile=zebra.txt&minutes=1&mode=text&result_url=result.html THanks for watchin! You got this!
The department I’m applying with mentioned a psychological exam but I’ve also heard of some places doing polygraph tests. Do you know how common that is?
Calista Coleman hey there! I would recommend but it really depends on you and what type of person u are and what u can handle! Hope all in well in the field!!

Update: I’ve started the job! Training is going better than I expected! Thank you again laura for your helpful videos! 🫶🏾
Thank you so much for these videos I passed my criticall test today and was so happy I watched your videos I knew what to expect.
Thank you for sharing! I just took my CritiCall a few days ago and am waiting to hear back
lindsey awesome!! Hope it went well!!
how was it?
I really appreciate these videos. This is my "dream" job. Again thank you
Thanks for all the info, I recently applied and I have my first process this week. I’m actually nervous I just hope I do good 😀
I hqde a job for literally only a few weeks before resigning, didn't even get through training due to commute issues, is that important to put?
I just applied to a agency recently and watching your videos only confirm my excitement and reassurance to go with this career
Mel Dixon yes the job is great!! With a good background you should be good! Let me know how it goes!!!
Mel Dixon it is such a rewarding career seriously!! You will do great! Looking forward to hearing!!
Thank you for all your imfomation !!I love your videos !! i interview tomorrow ! I have to tell you!! Your teeth are soooooo white and beautiful!!
How do you become a 911 operator? Like what does the schooling look like / how long does it take to become one, can yoh shadow someone before becoming a 911 operator.
Heyyy!! First you need to apply for the job! Check out all my dispatcher hiring process videos!!
Hi, quick question. Is it better to be POST certified before applying?
Hello Laura,
I know this was posted a while ago, however I just got a phone call and email for my panel interview with my local police department for tomorrow morning! I am not sure exactly how they do their process so we shall see! I know each agency is different ,I haven't been told anything about the Criticall test or anything so maybe they do it at a different point in the hiring process.
Gratitude from Florida,
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us!
Ali
good afternoon!! good luck with everything tomorrow! I would be prepared just in case! you’ll do great!!! sorry I hadn’t responded. Life has thrown me some curve balls lately 😳 and I’m just bouncing back!
Tomorrow I have a scheduled appointment to take a skills test for the position of public safety dispatcher. What can I expect from this skills test?
So I’m not sure if the TCSO is different. I wonder if City is different from County 9-1-1
I got hired!! Your vids have been helpful!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!🎉🎈🎊
So happy for you!! You and your waves 🌊 are in there!! Good luck with everything!!!
aw! congrats! that’s so cool.
Are you still working dispatch currently?
what if you been a stay at home mom for the past 15 years? I don't have any work history or references to list cuz it's been SO long since I've worked.
Thank you for sharing. I'm trying to become a dispatcher in Illinois.
I just had my interview via video chat today w/two ppl workin 4Milwaukee police department, it was a oral board interview & im very anxious to know what’s going to happen😬 yo videos really helped me especially on passin the criticall test! I’m just waiting on them to let me know if I passed my interview 🤞🏽 definitely want this & praying on it🙏🏽
I just had my background check completed, Ehthang CLEAN just my background check not so good, hopefully they see pass that but anotha question I had was do they watch you as you PEE ?
what is the general typing speed for dispatchers
Hi I'm currently filling out my background package after passing my critcall test😁😁 interview is feb. 12th
Cherelle Williams how do you like it?
Did you grt the job ?
@@missindependent617 i can't even remember now lol
@@venisa.marroquin no I didn't pass the polygraph test
@@cherelle469 what did they ask you during the test? What did you lie about
Once you become a certified 911 Operator, what is the process like if you want to transfer to a different state?
I’m in Dallas Texas and have an interview tomorrow for garland!! I’m so nervous
Heyyy!!! Just be easy! Relax!! And get the job!!
Laura Bryant I’ll try! I’ll keep you informed :)
What if my son has never had a job his only 19 and this is what he wants to do and hes already graduated high school
He needs to start low to get actual experience in customer service, try a fast food or retail store! could be a shoe store or whatever
Loura im alittle rusty on my typing speed. They say you have to atleast type 35wpm. Im about 5wpm shy. Will that hinder my chance of being a 911 dispatcher?
Hey!! Yes it will! Most critical exams have a typing test built in. So if you can’t type fast enough you will not pass. Keep practicing!!
I had my interview first and they said they want someone who has never done it before they want to train someone, today I got a call back to take the criticall test. Does this mean I got the job?
Also it's a small town so they dont do the lie test just the criticall and the background and drug screen.
Hey there! No that doesn’t mean you got the job. They are inviting you to test to see if you can actually do the job itself.
Badpenny, did you get the job? How is it?
Hello I would love to know how was it
Did you get the job
@@IceESole Hi! I actually did not...am still studying for my MS in Trauma Counseling. I feel like handling the intensity of stress required for 911 op. isn't 1 of my strong points so it's best I didn't get the job....could have put someone's life in danger...
Thank you for asking! (✿◡‿◡)🤍
@@okaminess I actually did not...but it's for the best as I feel like the stress level is way beyond my strong points. Thank you for asking!
Thank you for these videos!!! Please keep them coming!
So the Criticall is after the background? Because I took a 2.5 hour assessment with those calls and questions in the pre-employment briefing at the beginning
What was next for you?
Did you get the job
Hi👋🏽 , would you say the money is good? About how much roughly a month realistically?
Thanks in advance.
Most agencies these days in the Dallas area pay between 17-21 dollars an hour starting off.
Thanks.
Did you not have to take a WRITTEN EXAM? I'm curious about that and if I have to know ALL the CODES... There's A LOT to remember right off the back
Do you need your certifications/ basic telecommunication course before applying?
Is it important to have a drivers license? The department im interested in requires one but I’m not sure if it’s actually necessary and I don’t want to waste an application because here, is one application per year.
I am not sure. There would be no reason for you to drive. That would have to be agency specific. Good luck!
WA state Disqualifiers: Recent and numerous traffic violations.
Yes!! Every agency is different!! I didn't have traffic violations so that wasn't an issue for me thankfully!!
The critical test was fun for me :) you had to be extremely concentrated but I loved being kept on my toes
Oh yes!! It does require a bit of concentration! Hope you passed!! Keep me posted!!
Hello ! Thank you for this I finally got an email back! What kind of questions do they ask on a polygraph test?
Hey sorry I’m just getting to this. But here’s a video that you may find helpful!!
Becoming a 911 Dispatcher: Panel Interview and Polygraph Exam
ua-cam.com/video/w80XZ2GraF4/v-deo.html
Does anyone know how long the process take from the time you submit your application to the time you actually start??
Mine was 2 months from start to finish. But one agency took about 6 months to complete hiring process. Just get your paperwork in!
Hey, so I’m looking into becoming a 911 dispatcher after Highschool, and at one point you said you need to put your mothers information. What if someone were to not have a mother/isn’t in contact with them?
Do you have to pay a fee to fill out a application
This was excellent, you are amazing! Thanks so much!
Heyyyy!! Awwww thanks soooo much!!!
So what is the process exactly? The critical test, interview, polygraph, drug test? And when drug testing, is it hair follicle or urine?
Lizette Arroyo hey there!! Every agency is different. I’ve done it 3 different orders... but basically the order u have is accurate. The drug screen I took was urine.
Just received a call for an interview after 3 weeks submitting a application. Does this mean i will be taking the criticall when i go for the interview?
I am not sure just now. Sounds like they may interview first? Keep me posted!
Hey Laura, I've been looking to become 911 Dispatcher and reside in New York.
What book should I study to pass the exam?
Heyyy!!!! I would say there aren’t any books to pass the exam that I know! Google criticall and my video will come up! Watch it for everything you need!
I have 1 speeding ticket. Will that ruin my chances?
Nope not at all
Hi, I just got a call to come in for a typing test and they said there's another test. Is this extra testing the criticall or is there a test before that? Thanks!
Loving your channel girl! I have an interview for dispatcher next week.. I’m so scared !!! Any tips?? 😰
What should I wear to the 911 criticall? They said causal. But I don’t want to look too laid back or too fancy either. Help?
I have an interview next Friday, NYC. I have hearing loss in my left ear, will that disqualify me?

Hello! Was wondering if there are resources for the dispatchers when they receive a call that effects them personally? I am doing my research on this type of field and just curious if I would be a good fit. Thank you!
Yes. Agencies all for counseling and some Agencies have a quite room that you can go to after a tough call. Good luck and thanks for watching!
I did the test, passed, had my interview, and now it’s been almost two weeks-ish since the interview. I hope I get the job but I’m worried that maybe I didn’t pass the interview because I would love an update. UPDATE: didn’t get the job unfortunately:///

Hey there. I am not sure how to answer you question. That is more that likely a question that you would need to ask HR to see if the agency could accommodate. I hope that is helpful. Thanks for watching!

Hi ! , To become a dispatcher do I just apply ? Or is there any certain thing I have to do ?
Just apply!!
I have had a past run in with the law when I was 20 It shows that I have a misdemeanor on my record with that hinder me from getting the job
Hi Laura. Does one need to have pass a Civil Service exam to qualify for the job of a 911 dispatcher ? If yes, where do I go to have one ? Thank you.
Heyyyyy there!! No.. you do not have to take a civil service exam!! Best of luck with everything! Keep us posted!

It depends on the agency, but most I have seen like you at or above 35. Keep practicing!
