  • 1. Femme Rochas
    - This is a Chypre Fruity, created in 1944 by Edmond Roudnitska (the perfumer who also created the gentleman's classic in the 1960's Eau Savuage from Dior)
    - This is a warm and slighly dirty spicy scent, which is balanced by dark sweet fruity accords and backed by oakmoss.
    - The warm dirty spices are coming from the cloves and cinnamon, with the dark sweet fruits coming via gorgeous plum and peach.
    - Very long lasting, around 8-10 hours with strong noticeable projection
    - Best suited in my opinion as a formal night time scent, it has an air of powerful classiness to it
    - I bought this vintage bottle on ebay for £30, but you can pick up the newer formulation for around the same price brand new.
    2. Tabu Dana
    - This was oriental perfume, released in 1932, created the perfumer Jean Carles, who was asked to create a perfume that a prostitute would wear.
    - This is warm, smooth and sweet vanillic ambery scent, with lots of warm spices and a gentle animalistic muskiness.
    - The main notes on my skin the amber and benzoin which gives this a smooth, sweet and warmth, the warm spices coming from the cloves and cinnamon and the gentle animalistic muskiness from the civet.
    - Performance is powerful, you'll need to spray lightly to enjoy this scent, without it becoming to overbearing, I get around 10 hours of longevity with very strong projection/sillage - you'll be noticed!
    - Best worn at night, in the cooler weather of Autumn and Winter, as a casual night out scent - it feels like wearing a warm coat or a warm blanket around you
    - I picked this up brand new for £12 on ebay, seems to be harder to find from what I remember from a couple of years back, so you'll have to search around
    3. Cabochard Grès EDP
    - This perfume was originally launched in 1959, but this current variant is a reimagined/re-released in 2019
    - The nose behind this is Bernard Chant, who created the masculine classic Aramis from the mid 60s
    - Much like Aramis which came later, Cabochard has may similarities, though is less masculine and more more unisex, less rough and more elegant and refined
    - The opening is beautiful bright sparkling blast of Aldehydes, which is then joined by florals (on my skin it's mostly jasmine), with the drydown becoming a green mossy leather
    - Very classy, sophisticated and elegant, with a touch of class, this is best suited to day time wear during spring, autumn and winter, for work and formal events
    - You can pick up a brand new bottle of this for around £15

Bang on Waseem. Ever since I picked up Zara's Leather Jardin I've slightly preferred wearing it over Cabochard edp even though they're quite similar, but both are fantastic scents. Haven't tried the newer Tabu since I have both the violin and potion bottle versions, but a little goes a long way with the vintages. Dabs preferably. Always something special about those older formulas that you can't get in modern releases barring the odd risky release. But the search is part of what makes this hobby so fun. 😉 Cheers!

Hey Doni, thanks for bringing Zara's Leather Jardin to my attention, I'll have to check it out! Agreed about the special something about the older formulations, brands aren't as risky with their releases these days! Search is always fun, I agree!

Alright la . Now we are friends I must say you suit that very fine jumper 😉.
Thanks for the advice. I agree with the other person Youth Dew works as does Opium. Milton Lloyd do a great version for a good price.
They also do a vintage version of Fahrenheit which is amazing . I’m not on a commission but I should be 😉

@@HandsomeSmells Grand mother of YSL Opium: very sensual, not limited to the winter. I love it on a hot summer skin. Lightly sprayed. And the bath oil used as an Extract is to die for.
