The NWA TV Champion, Tully Blanchard, did what he was supposed to do on TV...show off the belt upside Weaver's head and down on the throat a few times after Johnny was rousting him during the program. Tully was really sorry Johnny was feeling under the weather the next week...NOT!
Back when it totally used to be better. Even watching this now, I really felt for a few moments Tully and Johnny were really hitting each other. That shot by Tully looked real as hell.
Fuck yeah Tully! One of my favorites. Didn't Dusty start using the sleeper hold after this but calling it the Weaver Lock? This is a great example of how to start a feud n make it look spontaneous n authentic. Alot of these kinds of details are missing in today's wrestling.
I've noted this before. This is Tully Blanchard's SECOND tenure with JCP. His first was in 1978 and oddly enough he wrestled more or less as a Face while Doubled up on by Greg Valentine and yes Ric Flair!🤔😂🎤🐴💎🤼♂️B.W.
Tully was a great heel.
1 of the best ever.
Tully was a true classic bad guy heel. Miss those days of Southwest Championship wrestling and the four horseman.
and Tully and Gino Hernandez formed a vile tag team in southwest.
tully was absolutely amazing at generating, grabbing, and holding onto heat.
Hey, you mess with Tully, you get the hand.
I can't help but chuckle to myself every time I see Tully since I heard that Flair and Arn gave him the nickname Eddie Munster lol
I love Tully Blanchard
blanchard displayed the way a champ should hold or wear or repesent the title, and it was a t.v. belt. that's the way it use to be.

All young wrestlers.....take a lesson in how to draw serious heel heat....Tully's in the territory 3 weeks and he's already the most hated guy there.
That's just Tully being Tully, he was the best heel ever
Greatest sell from a simple backhand LOL!
Tully Blanchard is the Ultimate HEEL!!!
Looks like there's a hop scotch board where Blanchard and weaver brawled lol
DZMATTY: You are the man!!! I love this classic NWA stuff! Keep it coming!!
Good job Tully

Weaver was beating the Hell out of Blanchard before he used the championship belt.
great stuff!
Wow Johnny weaver got a simple back hand because he was taking out of his back side and the champ had to teach him what he could say and not say.
If Tully hadn't been able to hit him with that belt, Johnny probably would've put him in "Tha Weeva Lock"!!

For weeks weaver talked shit to Tully and he had enough and two face Crockett doing his thing
Tully smacked a woman on camera in the storyline but Weaver was an actually woman beater
Wouldn't doubt it for one minute
Ugly TV title. Glad they changed the design soon.
@farscape1
Yeah, the Silver and Red "NWA Worlds Television Title" Belt was Classy.
