Dicky Slater was a Freakin' Madman. There is more action in 10minutes than in 10 matches that the wwe puts on. 1984 in the Mid Atlantic was the WRESTLING(not sports entertainment BULLSHIT) happening then. Their roster was LOADED. No one could compete with them. Thanks dzmatty for the "year of transition" series, it is AWESOME.

Thank you for this amazing compilation. I watched Mid-Atlantic Wrestling for years, and this was like a trip down memory lane.

I really enjoyed rassling back in the 1980s. Too bad how it's changed to just flash and pizazz today. Thank you for all these videos. Really enjoy seeing how fun rassling used to be.

What a great series! No doubt, 1984 was the beginning of something really special in Wrasslin' and set up so many great storylines for the next decade! I really appreciate "dzmatty", "Chris Cutrer" and who ever is responsible for sharing this series, "1984- A Year Of Transition"! Jim Crockett Promotions, Georgia Championship Wrestling, Championship Wrestling From Florida and eventually Turner were just terrific and nothing has come close to these wrestlers and this era from the late 1970s through the late 1980s!

What a great series. Thank you for the time and effort this took. If you have 1985, that would be amazing.

I'd give anything to go back to 1984 and start all over again ,Wrestling was so good, I wouldn't watch It today if someone put a gun to my head, They dont even try to at least make it look real, I was only 8 years old in 84 and I was glued to the TV every time Wrestling came on, Especially the NWA on Saturday night at 6:05

Thanks dzmatty, incredible stuff. I started watching wrestling in late 85 and didn't discover the NWA until mid 86 during the bash, so to be able to see this mid atlantic stuff from 84 is just awesome. Some of the younger fans that never got to experience classic pro wrestling are getting a real treat with these videos. Wrestling has never been nor will it ever be better than it was in the mid 80's.

Slater was a great talent but was only interested in wrestling in main events, the minute he started moving down to mid card status he was moving on to another territory.
This worked well until Vince started buying up the territories and Slater had less and less places to headline.

This is great, but Steamboat just looks out of place in a bunkhouse match.

Dick Slater made the fateful mistake of signing with WWF in 1986 where they created a rediculous "Rebel" gimmick and made him a babyface jobber. He was smart and got the hell out of there quickly.

Tully should have went over and kicked Slater when he got down on all four, it was fun watching him take the belt to Big Dust. Tully is putting a hurting on them, Black Bart looks like the weak link in the Heels

This was one of the first matches I saw of the NWA and I was hooked. I lived just outside of Philadelphia at the time and because of cable I got to see the NWA, AWA, WCCW, UWF, and WWF wrestling. All of the stars and even jobbers back then were the best at what they did. They respected the business and made it believable. I don't even watch it these days. It's just become tooo boring and ridiculous.

One thing this series should show all the wrestling fans ... Vince McMahon stole all of his best ideas from JCP. If it hadnt been for Starcade, Wrestlemania would never had come about. JCP used music to promote wrestlers intros first. The reason VM gets the credit is he had NYc in his territory.
The first time I ever saw WWF, was on NBCs Saturday Night Main Event, and thought it was awful. I cant believe his BS promotion is the "best" of what wrestling has to offer today
