From watching all this video it seams like it was a tutorial day and using as many techniques as possible in one scenario, ie different ways of strapping the wheels, slippy jims incase the vehicles locked up and just simulating different things.
It looks super weird doing a recovery this way and i cant imagine anyone actually doing this but as a lets cram as much training into one roll over as we can it kinda makes sense.

Do this for a living myself, best job in the world imo! Great job, safe work too and I even learn a thing or two and I’ve been doing this over 8 years. However I would have attempted to gain access to put the handbrake on or in gear, if not strapped the rear that was going to hit the floor first, rolled it with hook chains, took the strap off and moved hooks to the wishbones, and rolled it on. Yeah Jimmy it if one’s locked up but if they roll they roll so use them

I've been doing the job only two weeks and love it also I agree I would of tried to gain entry and applied the handbrake and put the car in gear

A little confused there. To secure the wheels at first, why not just strap the wheels in the exact same way as he did for the roll back strap, and not use 2 bed straps that you would struggle like fook to get back off. But even easier, jam some wood in the wheels 🤷🏻‍♂️

Overly complicated procedure. I really don't understand the need to have the straps on once the vehicle is back on its wheels. The car was dragged on to the bed unnecessarily. The car would have happily rolled on to the bed with the help of a winch. Once loaded put the straps back on, hand brake, gear and off you go.

Totally agree. It's ridiculous and hypocritical. At 16:00 the bloke is telling us "Always think ahead" which I find amusing. After FIFTEEEN minutes blocking a road, no doubt there will be HUGE tailbacks causing further hazards with the potential for on-looking drivers passing by which could cause further accidents. Look at 12:14, there's literally people standing around like it's some NASA space launch. They've over complicated what should be a quick & simple procedure. Quick reality check needed here - It's not like it's a 40 tonne artic lorry carrying flammables and therefore it should not be treated as such.

Had my own take .but thought I'd read comments first .
It's another situation were trainers are justifying there fee's £££££.
And no this would never happen like this in the field .
Its 3am its pissing down roads been closed so you can clear single vehicle rtc. You would be strapping and gone in 10 minutes.

I do recovery for a living for the police never seen such a weird way of doing things making your job twice as hard set off 2 leg chains around bottom arm and front wishbone you will get your centre pull as for chocking the wheels with stick the hand brake on it when it’s in its side chock front and rear wheels with wood so when it lands it can’t roll away or strap the wheels

It is way more secure but a lot of leg work usually I get it on it side and then but a 4x4 on the inside of the wheels.

I watched the first two minutes and I hear a bloke who can't even string a coherent sentence together. I have never seen ANYONE strap the wheels like that before putting it back on its wheels. Why not simply apply the handbrake and put it into first gear? This is NOT a good idea if you need to clear a RTC quickly to prevent other incidents. I call BS!

      - English is not his first language
      - English is probably the 3rd language ... (second is for sure) ... this gentleman can speak, read and write (sometimes with mistakes of course)
      - Will you enter the car to "use the handbrake and first gear"?
      - Your live is important too not just "quick " :)
