This is crazy. I'm currently a truck driver putting myself through school for HR management. I graduate next year. I'm glad to see a future outside this truck. Good video Sis.
Did you say $50k was not that much money?! 🤣 For fresh college grad with minimum experience, that was BANK!
That’s what I was thinking🤔
period! lmao 😂 she must live somewhere boujie because in arkansas 50K is above the median and will get you a lot lol
@@plussizebarbie9484 like dang I make 50K right now with 5 years bedside healthcare experience lol
Right. I’ve been making under 38k struggling to budget. I need $50k ASAP.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 yes ma’am
I started working in HR when I was 21 with a degree; which was a blessing. I start a new state job Monday working as an HR assistant. I decided to go to school for HR because I really do love it! Keep it up sis, and congrats on your growth!!
Thank you!
What do you love most about it? So many people say they love it but never give specific reasons, I think I would like it too but want to know WHY others do
KP I love HR because you get to meet and interact with so many different people. You are basically the backbone for the company. There are so many different roles in HR you will never get bored, depending on how big the company is. There’s always room to grow and develop yourself as an individual!
What did you get your bachelor degree on?

Great video!! Currently an HR student graduating in early spring of 2021.

@@xo_moni Congratulations Queen ❤️❤️
@@xo_moni how was your experience with your program?
Could you tell us how it was for you? Like the first hear and so on. Was it worth it for you and would you change it if you could?
I am incredibly thankful that I came across your channel. I'm currently a freshman in college and I'm exploring career paths that I can take and HR is one of them. Thank you so much for making an HR playlist; I'm nervous where life will take me but your videos are inspiring me to keep finding opportunities!
Hi! I’m so glad that my videos are helpful! Best of luck on your college journey! College are the best days!!! KEEP GOING!🫶🏾
Thank you so much for this! Thank you for being so open & detailed about your progress & experiences! I’m the banking analyst for a large company and I’m in school. I’ve been in banking for 6 yrs & I was in school for Accounting because of my background. I fell in love with training & development after different opportunities I’ve had in my career so I decided to change my major to Human Resource Management. Your journey has inspired me to be confident in my skills & not to be afraid to move on from a company once you gain the experience you need to continue growing in your field. Again thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your experience and for watching! Continue to work hard and take that leap!💕
Hi!!! I graduated in May 2018 with a bachelors in HR. I’ve had a hr internship and currently serve as a hr assistant. This video gave me so much motivation to keep pushing forward! Thank you!
Good luck on your journey!
Thank you and same to you!!
Hi Chan!! I can’t believe I made this comment 3 years ago but I wanted to come back and let you know I became an HRBP this year. You have truly inspired me these last three years and I just appreciate your HR content so much. Thank you!
you are god sent. these videos have helped me learn and have confidence to work in HR, thank you so much!
Love this videos on HR! I’m getting my degree in healthcare administration and have been loving the HR courses and would like to get into it!
Good luck with your journey!
Chantenique Thank you!!
You literally had experience on top of experience 👏🏾 I recently graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and I’m looking to get into HR. I’m not sure how I’m going to do it or if it’s really what I want to do but I have an interview coming up at Enterprise for a Management Trainee position so hopefully that gets my foot in the door and prepares me for whichever route my career journey takes me.
I did my Bachelors in Business Management and am about to graduate at the end of December with my Master’s in HR.
@@lgonzalez8635 I also have my BA in Business Administration w/ accounting concentration. I am thinking about getting into HR but I am not sure if I should get my Masters in HR or MBA with HR management concentration. What would you suggest?
Congratulations on your journey, it was so inspiring! As a recent graduate of a university, I thought I wanted to take a particular path, but my internship turned me off as well. With that being said, I became quite discouraged and felt stuck. However, I am doing my research about HR, and it seems to be right up my alley. I want to learn more and see how to get started with not much background in the field. Thank you again for the video!
Good luck with your journey! Thank you for watching!
You are such an inspiration for black women!! ❤️
This video gives me hope. I will be graduating with my bachelor's degree in psychology and biology and lately, I have been looking into Human Resources. I hope I can get my foot in the door now!
This video just inspired me so much to follow my dreams in Hr
I really enjoyed this video! Go, black woman! I am so inspired. I've been searching and searching for black women in HR on UA-cam to gain some insight from and this is def it. I know that this video is kind of old, but how did you maintain or build your confidence in your roles? I currently have an MPA and an aPHR certification, which I thought will help me to get into an HR role, but it hasn't. I'm going back to school for HR Management and I just got a resume review, so I can cultivate my resume to HR. I really want to get in this field and I want to be successful. I will be 30 this year and I want to do something that i'm passion about. Thank you for sharing.
Hi! Thanks for watching! I consistently study and review my companies processes and procedures in and out. I also talk things through with myself before I respond with a solution to any issue! I’ve learned that it’s not about your degrees or certifications in HR, but about your experience and talent!
I'm in school for hr online but I'm fearful that I won't make it in the industry because I'm not built the same but watching u give me hope
Good luck with your journey! Stick to it!
not built the same?what does that mean?
Wow! You are truly blessed. Not sure if you’ve answered this in a previous video but how long were you in HR before this current position? It’s amazing how GOD lined things up and you didn’t even know. So congratulations to you for doing your best at whatever you set out to do and it’s truly paying off now.
I love your puppy 🐶 in the background throughout your video. So cute 💕 Your experience and story is motivating. Thank you for sharing. Am currently in planning mode to get a Master’s in HR and pursue my dream career as an HR Professional. I will binge watch every video of yours about HR. Thank you 🥰
".... by Nature I'm a Virgo, I'm super duper organized, I can talk to anybody...." That's me in a nutshell! Starting my HR Assistant position tomorrow!💃🏽🦋💫
That was so clever- negotiating adding the title of Director to your job so you could put it on your resume for the future! I'm currently thinking about a career in HR but have a psychology undergrad degree. Do you think it is possible to get a job in HR with a psych degree?
Absolutely, anything is possible! Market yourself and work hard!
I also have a psychology degree & have worked in HR 5 years now.
I’ve seen soo many people in HR with psychology backgrounds!
Omg ! It was a blessing to find you ! Virgos !!

😩 I can’t wait to start in HR 😭 I want it so bad but I don’t know where to begin! I already have a degree in strategic communication and would love to be a HR Business partner
Thank you so much for this video! I am currently in my last 3 months of college. I graduate in December and I started putting in entry level applications at the beginning of this month. I hope and pray I can secure a job before graduation. Most of the positions I applied for have been for Recruiter or Administrative Assistant positions. Watching your video gave me the confidence that an opportunity will present itself. You have a new subscriber!
Good luck with your journey!
You are such an inspiration! It’s definitely competitive here in Atlanta but I’m determined to get my foot in the door. Thanks for this💛

Off-topic--but as soon as you said "sit down" in the beginning (0:37), your dog did just that lol BTW great video-very informative.

So glad I discovered this video! Thank you so much for sharing your advice for it has helped so much. I am currently enrolled in uni for HR Management with high hopes of getting into Talent Aqusition or being a Human Capital Consultant after years of working unfulfilling roles. So happy for you and your journey!
Your video is very inspiring and gives a lot of helpful details! I'm currently a recruiter, and I'm looking to explore more about HR, so many interesting paths to choose from!
Thank you! 💕
I have been a barista since I was 16 and I am 31 now and I have obviously been looking for a career change. I had a degree in tech theatre and I was doing my graduate work before the pandemic in art education. So a part of me doesn't want to give up on having a job in the creative field in the arts but I just really don't see that happening anymore and I love the idea of being able to work remotely. I only mention that I have been a barista for literally half of my life is because you have mentioned problem solving and constantly talking and dealing with different types of people whether it be the truck driver or the vice president and I have had to handle all the customers in the world. I can handle great situations and have my favorite customers and recall our store policies on the spot and at times I have to be the "bad guy" and say I'm sorry but we no offer this product or I'm sorry your order was wrong let me make that right for you (even when it was them who ordered wrong). Either way I stay calm even amongst the crazy Covid crowds & it has been tough. I just feel like any time that I do look for jobs online they always say it is an unpaid internship or you already have to have 5 years of experience. I am debating investing in a degree in this if I won't be able to get a job once I graduate...
I love the HR Business Partner role. Keep up the great content!
You are so pretty! I live about 45-55 mins out of Atlanta and this helped me a lot. Thank you for your videos
Thank you so much!!

Great video! Currently getting my Bachelor's in HR & Personal Management in Norway! There might be some differences in salary but could you give a ballpark of how much a HR Business Partner makes in general? Or even in a Fortune 500 company like yourself, I'm sure there's more salary the ''bigger'' the company?
What type of route would you suggest for someone who's looking to get into the bigger roles like HR Manager, HR Director, VP etc?
Your videos are helping all aspiring HR's, thank you!

Hello Chantenique:
Great Videos and thanks for sharing this information. I’m currently in my last quarter of school for HR. I’m trying to at least 1. Volunteer as an HR. 2. Start with an HR Assistant position to get my feet in the door. My majority is Medical that’s my background.
So my question is how to do your resume without any HR experience to be able to obtain an HR assistant job?
Thanks Again

Hi there! I earned my MBA in Human Resources Management in May of last year and I’m still trying to land my dream job. I know what I want to do but the opportunities continue to be a challenge. Can you offer some advice?
I have my associates degree in business but I graduate with my bachelors in businesses administration next spring I want to work in HR
Did you earn your master's in HR or just a BA? I'm currently finishing up with my BA in sociology, but I have 6 years of management experience and I am looking to get into HR. Do you have any tips in regards to how I can find myself in an HR position? Thank you
How are things coming along with your current company? Can you post a video about this?
@chantenique I also have my BA in Business Administration w/ accounting concentration. I am thinking about getting into HR but I am not sure if I should get my Masters in HR or MBA with HR management concentration. What would you suggest?
Thanks for the informative video.
Omg I’m trying to be like you when I grow up! I earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Mgmt in 2011. I want to gain experience but have been stuck working in customer service for the past 10 years. The funny thing is my jobs have allowed me to assist HR Administrators with payroll (4yrs) and background screening potential candidates (4yrs). How can I transition to HR Business Partner or Training and Development? What is your advice I’d really appreciate it.
The best advice I can give is mentioned in my other HR videos! Figure out what you already do, or have done that relates to where you want to go. For example, if youre wanting to move to training and development, ask to train new hires or shadow someone in the training department! Use your resources!
Chantenique Will do! Thank you for the response

I will be graduating in 3 months with my degree in history I have a potential job offer from recruiting firm regarding human resources assistant. I'm very interested in this field and would love to learn more. I am more than ready and willing to start from the bottom and work my way up. 🤙✌️🙂

Are you able to tell me the different aspects of that, and how to get in that department?
Can you do a pros and cons video please?
I am currently an HR student about to graduate in 3 months. Could you make a video on the different realms of HR? Like what do Talent Acquisition department do? What exactly does Compensation and Benefits do? Is it better to be a generalist or specialize?
Sure!
Would a company want someone with a business degree or who went and got their masters in hr management? I am currently in business Administration I really don’t like it because of how it’s always about money. I am looking into working for hr

I did my Masters in Social Work. Would it be suitable to go for another Masters in Human Resource Management? I would like to work in the corporate world
Hi do you only have your bachelors while progressing from all of these employers ?
Yes!
Do you think HR business partner is for a sagittarius? Or HR in general
What advice would you give to someone who majored in psychology, and want to get into HR?
I'm wondering the same thing. I just graduated with my Bachelor's in Psychology and now I want to get into the world of human resources.
Leah Martin sams! You were thinking about getting a masters??? Or just jumping into it?
@@jornayrooks3724 I wanted to just try to jump into it. I join SHRM to try to get some advice and I changed my resume to showcase more of the HR things I do. Hmm! I’ll talk all about my title in an upcoming HR video!
Chantenique thank you so much!! Did you get certified like the SHRM or do you just have your bachelors degree?
I have a bachelors. I don’t have a certification!
Chantenique okay I was just wondering if I would have to get certified as well in order to land a good paying job. I live in the city of Los Angeles in California
Maira V you don’t “have” to be certified but it is preferred by a lot of companies if you don’t have any HR experience.
Do you need to be in college or have a college degree to work in HR?
