Some interesting things; Marnie is probably poor. Spikemuth is a poor town and Piers states that you can buy Piers' merch. Piers' merch is the dark-type uniform, a version of which all the Team Yell grunts are wearing. In other words; the only reason why Marnie's in the race is because Team Yell pooled money together to buy her pokémon gear. It's mentioned that she got her pokémon from Piers, which means that she probably didn't have pokéballs starting out. Marnie is the figure head of a grass roots sports initiative and Team Yell just want their idol's baby sister to succeed.
Yeah, I feel like for a game for children, this game is rather realistic and cruel. Like in every generation, "you" are either related to the gym leader, the doctor, or even the champion. So you get to choose from there relatively better pokemons. Other kids in the game may never have a chance to battle in gym.

That was really awesome! I especially enjoyed it cutting to the calmer piano, whenever music meant to symbolize a battle cuts to a calmer part for a brief while, before coming back full force, it just makes it so epic, makes it feel like a finale of a battle
Honestly I'd like to think that after training her ass off, Marnie makes another go at the gym challenge just to take us down from our throne and succeeds by a landslide, surpassing even Piers. Additionally, she'd not use Dynamaxing as often as the other trainers and so she'd garner a lot of attention during the competition, taking the donations and putting them towards Spikemuth.

It was oddly cool that she got a grimmsnarl. I had impidimp and they pretty much destroyed her team so having our eventual Grimmsnarls duke it out at the end of the game was pretty awesome.
My ideal Team for Marnie would have been with Pokemon that combine rough and tough looks with cute and innocent looks. Ferrothorn, Arcanine, Toxapex, Butterfree, Grimmsnarl, and Morepeko. Plus this team would be much more diverse and we'll equipped to counter any type. What do you guys think?
I would replace Butterfree for keeping Toxicroak since that was the only unique pokemon on her team that wasn't dark type. Still a cool team though otherwise.

I think I figured it out. Piers distanced himself from the other gym leaders because he was the only gym leader who was wasn't brainwashed, corrupted and bought. He was the only who stood up to the corrupt authorities/government and who helped the main protag in the end, all the other gym leaders were cowards who were too scared of losing their positions of power and authority they got from the chairman so they turned a blind eye and didn't question him. Piers is the only one of the lot who is a real man. The only one who listened to his conscience and refused to compromise his moral values. That's why he wasn't at the opening ceremony, that's why he refuse to dynamax, that's why he didn't succomb to pressure when the government abandoned his town and let it fall into decrepitude. He might not have known who the villain was, but he obviously had strong suspicions. He's a good person, a good brother, and a sweetheart. A lot of people in the fandoms adore him, admire him and respect him. Marnie is both the most cool and edgy looking AND cutest character in all of Pokemon, and her theme reflects that. She can be soft and nice, but also rough and Mean if she gets angry. Oh and also, gladion is ok but I prefer Marnie. For... Obvious reasons.
The original version of Marnie's theme is really hard to listen to bc it's so flat and compressed. I've been looking for a great version of it to listen to, and I think I found it. Great work Vetrom, I'm checking out your other work now!
This should have been the final battle with her in the Pokemon League. The two versions of her theme in game are not different enough, only the cheering. This theme screams that Marnie means business and will bring her A-game (which hopefully includes something better than a Liepard).
I have played all Pokémon games, and this is the first time I admire a rival. Other rivals are dull, annoying and a waste of time. Marnie builds up along with the story line and awakens her potential as she reckons herself. That is a inspiring strength.

It was oddly cool that she got a grimmsnarl. I had impidimp and they pretty much destroyed her team so having our eventual Grimmsnarls duke it out at the end of the game was pretty awesome.
My ideal Team for Marnie would have been with Pokemon that combine rough and tough looks with cute and innocent looks.
Ferrothorn, Arcanine, Toxapex, Butterfree, Grimmsnarl, and Morepeko. Plus this team would be much more diverse and we'll equipped to counter any type. What do you guys think?

I would replace Butterfree for keeping Toxicroak since that was the only unique pokemon on her team that wasn't dark type. Still a cool team though otherwise.

I think I figured it out. Piers distanced himself from the other gym leaders because he was the only gym leader who was wasn't brainwashed, corrupted and bought. He was the only who stood up to the corrupt authorities/government and who helped the main protag in the end, all the other gym leaders were cowards who were too scared of losing their positions of power and authority they got from the chairman so they turned a blind eye and didn't question him. Piers is the only one of the lot who is a real man. The only one who listened to his conscience and refused to compromise his moral values. That's why he wasn't at the opening ceremony, that's why he refuse to dynamax, that's why he didn't succomb to pressure when the government abandoned his town and let it fall into decrepitude. He might not have known who the villain was, but he obviously had strong suspicions. He's a good person, a good brother, and a sweetheart. A lot of people in the fandoms adore him, admire him and respect him. Not just for all these things, but also because he doesn't do dynamax/"bloody giants" bullshit and giant stadium crown bullshit, just good old fashioned battles based purely on strategy.

I find this quote from Ritu Ghatourey so encouraging. Oftentimes we are afraid of standing alone, but this quote should give us courage, like Piers had the courage (along with the main protag) to oppose the corrupt government/system.
Piers is a goth and goths stand up against corrupt authorities, corrupt governments, corrupt systems. Like Piers, real life goths risk everything to fight for us, fight for humanity. And how does mankind reward them for doing the right thing and fighting on our behalf to change the system and make the world a better place? Mankind rewards goths by beating them, torturing them, killing them, shunning them, marginalizing them and treating them like outcasts, just because they are different, just because of their looks, or their hairstyles, or what they wear. Mankind judge them purely based on their looks (but there's nothing wrong with gothic looks, it's cool and badass) and not the content of their characters, their actions and the risk they take because of their love for the human race and their fellow human beings. There's a movie entitled "murdered for being different" and it's based on a true story about this girl who was murdered by a gang for being a goth, leaving her boyfriend and mother devastated.
You wanna see what goths experience? You wanna see what it's like to be part of an oppressed marginalized group of HUMAN BEINGS, PEOPLE, who are targeted for violence and stereotypes just 'cause they look different, just 'cause of how they dress or their hairstyles or because they accept their shadow (as Freud called it) instead of suppressing it or pretending it doesn't exist?

I can't believe that in this day and age goths, punks and LGBT people are still judged purely based on their looks and not the content of their character, targeted for violence, dehumanized, stereotyped and treated like subhumans and that LGBT people even though they can legally get married in all states are still discriminated against in housing, employment, and health care. It's time to end the bigotry, violence and hate crimes against goths and LGBT people, these ARE HUMAN BEINGS who deserve equality and equal protection under the law and they deserve to be TREATED WITH THE SAME HUMANITY AND DIGNITY AS EVERYONE ELSE. Also, I'm glad that goths get some representation and recognition in video games with goth characters like Grimsley, Piers, and Marnie from Pokemon, those characters make me want to fight for goths like goths fight for us. They deserve better.

This sounds absolutely amazing! It almost feels like a final boss theme, which from Marnie's perspective, it actually was.

This should have been the final battle with her in the Pokemon League. The two versions of her theme in game are not different enough, only the cheering. This theme screams that Marnie means business and will bring her A-game (which hopefully includes something better than a Liepard).
I have played all Pokémon games, and this is the first time I admire a rival. Other rivals are dull, annoying and a waste of time.
Marnie builds up along with the story line and awakens her potential as she reckons herself.
That is a inspiring strength.

Tha part of the piano makes it sound a lot like a Toby Fox/Undertale song. Thinking more about it, this song would percetly fit an Undertale battle. That's probably one of the reasons why I like it so much!
