Not to mention, Bede is the stereotypical dick-type rival. Very akin to Gen 1 Blue (did not give a damn that an entire city was taken hostage. Only cared about smugly proving how much more awesome he is than you), honestly. Marnie, however. She's probably the first rival since Cheren that is adamant about being a competing rival to you without being antagonistic about it, but neither being too friendly. Unlike Cheren, she has no prior personal history with you, so that's new. She's professional about it, and I think that's just an even bigger marker of her decency. It's clear that she'd be a wonderful friend (maybe even more if you wanna), but as long as you're competing for the same thing, that's gonna have to be put on hold, but no hard feelings about it either.

Bits of Marnie's dialogue, and occasionally her facial expressions, to me, seem to indicate that she really wants to become closer with the protagonist, but she's a bit too shy to come out and admit as much (and to that end, I like to think that Marnie's Morpeko realizes that Marnie is growing closer to the protagonist, and that's what causes Morpeko to start liking the protagonist in turn). And on a different note, I actually feel like part of Marnie's theme would have been perfect for a finale where it's You, Marnie, Hop, & Bede up against a single Dynamaxed/Gigantamaxed Legendary (such as Eternatus), possibly with both Zacian & Zamazenta also being there to help you out. I mean, what could be a more "epic" finale for the game than to have your 3 primary rivals all show up to help you out of a dire situation, and the two version-specific legendaries each show up to "watch over" Galar's new generation of heroes by helping you out against the "Final Boss".

Usually I find the base themes of the SwSh soundtrack to be extraordinary by themselves, and I even like them over most remixes. This one, however, seems to add to the flair of the original music style without changing the base song itself too much. Excellent job as usual!
Playing Reborn for the first time currently. Bro Marnie's theme is like my favorite soundtrack in any pokemon game so when I just heard the beat drop at 0:50 during my battle outside against Cal outside shelly's gym, i immediately was like "wait I fucking know this bop" and came straight to the reborn wiki to look at the soundtrack lists and here I am lol. I still prefer the original but this is really nice too.

If you're ever contemplating doing a second game (for the alt postgame, I say, having reached Victory Road for the first time), if you can cut the field during the Cal fight its a lot easier, using Z-Water on Camerupt can let you hit Charizard with a Ground Move, or just collapse the ceiling for an OHKO. Better than me beating Florinia by the skin of my teeth because her Cradily ran out of PP against my Tangrowth, I'll never use an item in battle!!
I'm on Anna Route rn (beat Aya today) and I gotta say. Manually changing the field via X Terrain breaks almost every fight. Girafirig and Heliolisk are good early game setters. And Tabula Rasa.. oh baybeeeeee..

I love that this theme plays when you fight bennett for the first time and then in post game magearna quest his elite 4 room has this theme slowed in the background but he still has the elite 4 theme when you fight him, amazing use of the theme imo
If you choose to remix Hop’s theme, I highly recommend his “final battle” theme. It’s much much better than the original imo Edit: ok, for those who don’t know, the main hop theme and his final theme are so drastically different that they could be considered two different songs. That’s why I suggested the latter

Either way, a talented remixer like Glitch can still take the original main theme and make it like 100x better, if she feels like it

I love Cal and Victoria’s dynamic so much. I love how they completely switch temperaments after Pyrous Mountain. Cal truly deserves this theme for atoning and changing his life around. And Victoria's life crumbling after she loses her mentor that she's unhealthily dependent upon, and has to (and fails to) put her life back together afterwards is magnificent. Love her.
