You had me at 3:27 "Worn for months...." merino wool for me it is, damn the moths!

I have both and I’ve found the same. It’s as if the names should be switched. The polygene/heiQ is OK but neither compares at all to merino. I won’t wear one of these cap cools more than one wear between washes, but I can wear a smartwool tee or REI merino base tee multiple days if aired out at night. Cap air is half wool and can go several days of runs without a wash. There’s a new cap cool merino coming soon, it’s a guaranteed hit

The naming of these shirts is unfortunate. Merino is the way to go for smell, I like the blends because I find them less itchy. Can't wait for that new cap cool merino!

Thanks for the video. It is indeed extremely confusing figuring out the difference between these shirts. I was in line at REI and saw a Patagonia shirt called Capilene Long Sleeved Graphic T or something similar. It was super light but also cost $55 which struck me as expensive. I bought something that seemed like an REI knock-off of that for about $30. (REI long sleeved base layer or something?). I like the REI shirt but it's notably heavier than the Patagonia I saw. Now I'm trying to figure out which Patagonia to spring for. I need a very thin long sleeved shirt for hikes in Southern California in summer. It's hot, but because of the intense sun, you need some protection. Well, I'll keep reading and watching. Thanks again.

I feel you, the struggle to find good clothes is real. Also it almost seems like Patagonia made the names of these shirts confusing on purpose. The Cool Trail is an every day shirt, while the Cool Daily is an active trail shirt? It still doesn't make sense to me. I usually use a thin button-up shirt for So-Cal sun, but really anything can work.

Which of the two would you recommend for outdoor running during hot and humid climate? I'm guessing the cool trail since it has a thinner weave which gives better breathability?

I'd say Cool Daily is a better running shirt overall, but you're right, the Cool Trail is more breathable so may be better in a humid climate.

I am very interested in purchasing Marino Wool shirts because of the stink factor, did you do any reviews on those?

Merino is great. I haven't done reviews yet but that Wool and Prince shirt I'm wearing at 0:22 is great. I've had it 6+ months and rarely wash it. It's a blend of 78% merino and 22% nylon. Gives you the odor control of wool, but is more comfortable than 100% wool shirts, which I find are more itchy. Link is in description.

how is the pilling on them long term?

I've heard people have some issues with the merino versions, but I haven't had any piling issues with these.

In terms of lenght, which size to go for (I'm 5ft9)? M or L? Patagonia M usually fits me perfect. I'm going to order this (daily), so I don't want to mess up. Thanks.

I'm 5'11, these shirts run long on me, so I would get whatever size you usually get.
