I guess Arcana Knights could cause confusion with the Arcana Force archetype. Even though no cards that just mention an "Arcana" archetype by itself exist. Still, new people might think Force and Knights would be sub-archetypes of the Arcana.
When using playing cards, Jokers are either considered wild cards or they are stronger than the face cards (like if they were used in a game of Spades or War). The jokers can also be used to replace missing or damaged cards, or if they aren't being used sometimes people will designate face cards to be wild. Thus making them the "jokers" as it were. So there being more than 2 Jokers makes sense as it's referencing how people got around damaged cards without buying more.
In a lot of anime and games, JACK is actually quite powerful, even against a king or Queen. I suppose if we’re going by cards, it does beat every card other than ace, King; and Queen so perhaps anything below them would be vulnerable to a Jack. Jack is also surprisingly a very overused name as I’ve seen
It must be noted that Jack's Knight had been compared to the Jack of Spades, which is depicted in a standard deck of cards as a one-eyed Jack. In some Poker games, the one-eyed face cards ( Jack of Hearts, Jack of Spades, and King of Diamonds) are designated as Wild Cards! This can explain why the Jack's Knight card in Yu-Gi-Oh is considered stronger than King's Knight and Queen's Knight!

When King's Knight, Queen's Knight, and Jack's Knight first appeared in YU-GI-OH, I found myself wishing that the makers of the game would eventually release the cards Knight Ace and Knight Ten with the following special ability: If after the player's fifth turn, but before drawing any cards, Knight Ace, King's Knight, Queen's Knight, Jack's Knight, and Knight Ten are in your hand, you may reveal these cards to your opponent. If you can cause this to happen, you WIN the game!
jack is a knave/servant? I never knew that. not that I ever bothered searching for the term. I just assumed its a fancy word for prince since its king, queen and then jack which much like the prior two also appears like royalty.

I had been searching for my personal main deck for a long time and feel these cards are it, and would love to see a video on my go to cards
If King's Knight and Queen's Knight had EACH been given a Bishop and a Rook as a separate matching set of Summoning cards, you would have been able to create a deck based on the game of CHESS! Since they made King's Knight, Queen's Knight and JACK'S Knight, I found myself wishing that the game's creators would have ALSO created Knight Ace and Knight Ten, with the Ace and Ten having the following special ability mentioned on both cards: after a player's fifth ACTUAL turn, if ALL FIVE CARDS are in one's hand at the START of a turn, but BEFORE ANY MORE CARDS ARE DRAWN FOR THE CURRENT TURN, the player may show these cards to their opponent. If the player can do this, that player WINS the game!
As a follow-up to my earlier reply, I mention this idea as my vision of a CHESS themed archetype Yu-Gi-Oh! deck: King's Bishop and Queen's Bishop would EACH have the ability to Special Summon the Knight or Rook on its side to the field if the Bishop is already on the field with the matching Knight or Rook for its side. In this version, King's Knight and Queen's Knight would EACH have the ability to directly attack the opponent, as their CHESS piece counterparts do have the ability to jump over other pieces. The King's Rook and Queen's Rook would EACH have the following special ability: Castling! "If this card is on the field with a King card, once per game, this Rook can switch positions with the King card to destroy one spell or trap card on the field"! Your deck can have four Pawn cards and one King card, one Queen card, one of EACH CHESS themed Bishop, Knight, and Rook card, and at least one Queen's Double card (13 to 15 cards in total) TRAP CARDS En Passant: If an attacking card has the ability to directly attack an opponent, and you have a Pawn on the field, reveal this card! If you do, destroy the attacking card! SPELL CARDS Pawn Promotion: If you have a Pawn on the field, reveal this card and sacrifice the Pawn to SPECIAL SUMMON one Queen, Queen's Double, Bishop, Knight, or Rook to the field!
And in even more anime, JOKER is very versatile. It’s not many shows or games and such that depict Jokers as inconsistent in terms of weaknesses, as a Joker is supposed to be random in terms of being powerful or being weak.
It makes perfect sense in the game 500. Jacks are strongest (known as the bower cards) when you're playing with a specific trump suit (which you do most of the time). The king would then be next strongest of the 3 and Queen the weakest. They seem to be drawing specifically from this game or trump suit based games like it.

Slight correction: Arcana Knight Joker is summoned in Yugi's duel not against Yakou, but against his brainwashed twin Tenma Gekkou the Fairy deck user. Yakou brainwashed him using The Wicked Dreadroot, but is not in control of the duel, he's only watching from the control room
The fact that the Jack ends up at the King's right side might be a reference to the fact that, as the most loyal subject of the king, he can be considered the King's right hand man and the Queen being at the King's left side might refer to the fact that usually, the queen's throne is always at the king's left side. So, the Queen standing at the King's left side and the Jack standing at the King's right side makes sense and might not have been a coincidence.

Imperial bower is the ace of the poker knights, look at the feet in the card art, both feet make an ace symbol and they let you pull out kings and queens, which in turn pulls out jacks - it is the literal ace card
@@leeeyles1864 then how about 10s knight to finish the straight royal flush
I just really like this kind of videos
I think this kind of videos is the best
0:06 Or coloquially by fans as "Poker Knights". Also as "Face Card Knights"
0:54 The scene that explains why THIS archetype got support that enables you summoning Slifer (and Ra)
2:29 What's "A Jack" ? 6:07 what symbol they represent? 6:20 only NOW i notice that
8:03 wonder when are we getting a card that references the time slifer was summoned using big shiled gardna, dark magician girl and gamma the magnet warrior
10:43 what's "Euchre" ? And why Jacks used to be Bowers?
11:20 this video shows its age, as this card was eventually printed
Each suit did represent a real world thing, with Spades being swords for the Knights and Soldiers who protected the people, so it makes sense that Warriors based on cards would all favour the Spade motif.
Hearts represented the Church
Diamond the aristocrats, the wealthy
And Clubs the peasants, the poor.
You are telling me that one of Atem's favorite archetypes is the Poker archetype?....
COOL!!
Arcana knight Joker appeared in the tournament arc of season 5 of the original yugioh anime
Joker card is wild card
_Liar! I’ve seen many gambling games, and Jokers have never been wild_
Now that this archetype is getting more fleshed out, it makes me sad that "Straight Flush" is already a card.
I don't know why, but every time I hear about the Knights of Face, I think of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
I like this. I had a reasonable success with a deck with the main cards before.
Jokers knight is fire AF😁😁🔥🔥🔥
This is why Yu-Gi-Oh! Trivia is so fun
Not only do you learn about an archetype, you also learn something new about what they're themed after ♠️♥️♦️♣️
Loved the video, as the face cards were my favorites when I started playing!
I'd love a D/D/D trivia video, though i know the D/D/D archtype is quite big
I would wish they made an “ACE” knight if that counts
The Ace is the boss monster. So if we look at Yugi’s deck and these monster, Yugi’s “Ace” is Dark Magician.
@@jeffreyweaver9854 a royal flush.
@@themerchantinblack6157 the highest hand in straight poker, nothing wild
@@jeffreyweaver9854 sorry my term of poker is rusty.
This is my favorite archetype thanks for making this video.
The new joker was based on the monster Yugi used called tricky ... Stats and effect are almost the same
Ahh yes. The ol Royal Straight Flush.
Legend says nobody has ever assembled all 5 cards together...
jack is a knave/servant? I never knew that. not that I ever bothered searching for the term. I just assumed its a fancy word for prince since its king, queen and then jack which much like the prior two also appears like royalty.
Extra joker looks like he has someone on his shoulder and I can't unsee it now
I just love this support as it supports the original monsters only, Jacks knight, Queens knight and Kings knight.
I would like to see more cards of this arch type. I want to build a deck focused around them.
Hopefully we get the Royal Straight Slasher soon !
I hope this archetype gets viable one day like Buster Blader.
Spade 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace!
i dont even play yugioh anymore (covid, expensive where i live) but i'm enjoying these videos :D learn quite a lot of neat stuff
This Is Literally My Favorite Archetype :') 👑❤🃏🎶
The Royal Flush Gang of Yu-Gi-Oh.
Three knights that are based off playing cards and gained new knights to join their army of warriors
Could you do the Agents/Hyperion archetype next? They recently got support to have all the planets and i have theories on the different hyperions and wanted to hear yours.
As a follow-up to my earlier reply, I mention this idea as my vision of a CHESS themed archetype Yu-Gi-Oh! deck:
King's Bishop and Queen's Bishop would EACH have the ability to Special Summon the Knight or Rook on its side to the field if the Bishop is already on the field with the matching Knight or Rook for its side.
Your deck can have four Pawn cards and one King card, one Queen card, one of EACH CHESS themed Bishop, Knight, and Rook card, and at least one Queen's Double card (13 to 15 cards in total)
TRAP CARDS
En Passant: If an attacking card has the ability to directly attack an opponent, and you have a Pawn on the field, reveal this card! If you do, destroy the attacking card!
SPELL CARDS
Pawn Promotion: If you have a Pawn on the field, reveal this card and sacrifice the Pawn to SPECIAL SUMMON one Queen, Queen's Double, Bishop, Knight, or Rook to the field!
And in even more anime, JOKER is very versatile. It’s not many shows or games and such that depict Jokers as inconsistent in terms of weaknesses, as a Joker is supposed to be random in terms of being powerful or being weak.
Thank God they didn't give him a shitty coinflip effect
They actually stayed very true to the source material then.
@@matiasnahuelrizzidelrio6885 Haven't seen those in a long time.
This archetype has style in spades
Seto Kaiba made "Blue-eyes Chaos Max Dragon" basin it of "Obelisk the tormentor"
so its quite fitting, that one of Yugi's cards was made basin it of "Slifer"
now we just need something for Marik to "Ra"
The number of times that the 3 Knights of Face Cards appeared in the anime:
Duel Monsters: Battle City Part 2 arc (2: Episode 131, 138), Legendary Dragon arc (1: Episode 174), Grand Championship arc (1: Episode 198), Battle Ritual arc (1: Episode 221), Movie (Pyramid of Light) = 6
Zexal: World Duel Carnival Premlins (1: Episode 44) = 1
So, the total appearances in the Yugioh anime series is: 7
Konami did make royal straight slasher and the spell card royal straight so thats a fun fact to know!
Absorb Queen!
Fusion Jack!
Evolution King!
Spade 10! Jack! Queen! King! Ace! Royal Straight Flush!
These are all quotes from Kamen Rider Blade (2004-2005), since its theme is based from Poker cards. I recommend you should watch it. It's an amazing series
Little known fact about DCs Joker, 11:58
Slight correction: Arcana Knight Joker is summoned in Yugi's duel not against Yakou, but against his brainwashed twin Tenma Gekkou the Fairy deck user.
Yakou brainwashed him using The Wicked Dreadroot, but is not in control of the duel, he's only watching from the control room
An R manga fan too!!! Sweetness yes I love that side story.!!
@@Ahloveyafuhso right? I hope it gets animated honestly. All the duels are such a banger, and every Card Professor's decks have such a unique theme.
With the connection you made with this archetype and the God cards, I think it'd be cool if Konami goes full force with the 2 supporting each other
The fact that the Jack ends up at the King's right side might be a reference to the fact that, as the most loyal subject of the king, he can be considered the King's right hand man and the Queen being at the King's left side might refer to the fact that usually, the queen's throne is always at the king's left side. So, the Queen standing at the King's left side and the Jack standing at the King's right side makes sense and might not have been a coincidence.
Do the odd eyes/pendulum magician archetype next time
Will be cool if we have in the future a card called "Court's Full House" that be a win condition :V hahaha
i like if we got some more monsters based on the card hands like royal flush and so on. Maybe even two pendulums would be kind of nice
Would it be cool that in a few weeks Konami would announce new support for this archetype even do we reasonly we just got support for this archetype
It's an anime archetype, I wouldn't be suprised if they would make more support soon.
@@randomprofile5853 yeah i can definitely see that
In Thunee (card game in South Africa that Indians play) Jack is worth 30 while king is worth 3 and queen is worth 2
Fun fact they actually got royal straight slasher as a card now think one of the new packs they add the anime exclusive spell card and him
Love how they started turning anime exclusives into real cards.
