    As an old fart, it's so great to see younger people experience what old parts experienced in the 80's. You all deserve this soon much. We were spoiled. You battled through lean years. Go OIL!!!

      We were spoiled indeed.
      We expected deep runs in the playoffs every year and usually got them.
      And then we didn't.
      For a long time.
      Except 2006, where a goal or two at the right time could have had them win it all... but they didn't.

    I was very lucky as a young boy to be in Northlands Colleseum and watch Gretzky and Messier, and Anderson and kurri hoist the cup. This is the craziest run I've ever seen in sports. All sports.

      My team was on the losing side of the Gretzky lead team in 1988 and 1990 so I still hold that as a grudge. Having said that this Stanley Cup Final is one for the ages and I hope the Oilers are able to pull off the greatest comeback in pro sports history, it definitely would top the Red Sox comeback over the Yankees in 2004 because that was only for the American League Championship.

      "Time to"? Gretzky and Messier already wrote history for you guys. Don't get greedy now. 5 Cups from 84'-90'. There's teams that haven't won a single Cup lol. I get that it's been a while but the Oilers have the greatest dynasty of all time ALREADY "written".

    • @bobbyeapen6049
      @bobbyeapen6049 7 місяців тому

      @@Remmy0930 The history part is the fact that a team that was almost written off, climbs from nearly the last past team, all the way to the top, and takes it from a 3 nil series, to now tied. That's the historical part. Also, greedy? What you talking about, out of the 20+ teams, a quarter of them, are Canadian, and in the last 30 years, there was no Canadian team taking the cup. It's time for things to change. Also, if you want to talk about greed, Flordia already has a SuperBowl, and 2 Stanleys in the last 5 years.

    • @bobbyeapen6049
      @bobbyeapen6049 7 місяців тому

      @@Remmy0930 Also, it's been a generation, and there were no cups seen from a country that produces the best hockey players. Every single NHL team has Canadian players. Have you taken notice, that in other "leagues" that play hockey, Canada generally dominates. Look at the Olympics, or World Championships, or the World Juniors, or IIHF, and take a look at who pretty much dominates... but in the NHL in the last 30 years... it's an anomaly... Something's up... are they trying to play WWE...tis weird

    I want to sincerely congratulate any Edmonton Oiler fan, even before game 7 plays out. There is strong evidence, IMHO, that the Oilers will win the last game. The Panthers would've already flipped the switch had they been able to and finished the series and won the Cup. Now the pressure is squarely on Florida and any little weakness sensed in the early stages of Game 7 will be exacerbated and exploited by Edmonton. This is the type of run a fan can only dream of, and as long as it isn't the Flyers, the Capitals, the Bruins or the NYR (I am a Penguins fan), I can easily be happy for the true fans of a team pulling this dream season off. The things McDavid has done, and the way Skinner has played, it's very easy to like and admire this Edmonton team. Starting 2-9-1, then going 11-0 in January... what a ride. So soak it in my NHL brothers who live and die Edmonton Oilers. Whatever happens, and I told you what I think, you've already earned your place in the history books, and very few fans, of any sport, can say they've experienced anything like YOU have this season.

    • @christianmuller292
      @christianmuller292 7 місяців тому +1

      Am with you on that. The Panthers are on a very bad losing streak and à lot of things must be going through their minds like :
      - what will we look like in the history books if we lose game 7 and therefore the Stanley Cup ?
      - Have Edmonton found multiple weak spots in our game that we haven't figured out and will continue to press on where it hurts ?
      - How do we get out of this losing spiral vs a team that are on a winning one and seem to have no flaws ?
      The only thing going for the Panthers is the fact the game will be played on their home ice. Had it been in Edmonton I'd have sincerely put this as a win for the Oilers.

    My dude, I was 10 years old when the Oilers entered the NHL in 1979. Gretzky and the HOF players all drafted in about 2 years time. Unreal time, like many others have said, we were spoiled and didn't really know what we had. Then the 90s came and all of our boys left town. Don't forget everyone, we almost lost the team in '98. Then '06 happened, I don't even want to talk about it because it still stings. Many dark years, high draft picks and finally here we are. I couldn't be happier or prouder of this team and what they did to get here. Oil Country is simply amazing. I love your content and your work, thank you for doing what you do. Go Oilers!

The pressure is here for the Panthers. Hockey is one of my favorite sports and the life of hockey in Florida growing up down there was not that great cause many people believe that hockey couldn’t make it down there but now the tides have shifted. I remember watching Game 6 of 2015 and them shutting out Tampa at home to win Lord Stanley. as a fan who cheered on a team that went all the way, there's no better feeling. I gotta say, I started watching hockey when I lived in San Francisco, so my first 2 years I was cheering for the Sharks. But once I moved up to Edmonton 11 years ago, and saw, not only the passion of the team, but the FANS and the entire culture, I was hooked and went full hardcore fan-mode! It's gonna feel amazing watching the cup get hoisted in Canada, it's rightful place, tonight!

    Bobby Orr was the greatest player of the 20th century but today the Oilers have the greatest player in the history of the game in Connor McDavid. Oilers fans have been fortunate enough to have had the most prolific scorer of all-time playing for their then 30 years later the greatest player ever.

    I've been watching hockey since I was a young kid in the early 90s...I just missed the Gretsky oilers era... Instead was fond of Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr... And I clearly remember Patrick Roy lifting the cup in 1993 with Montreal... It's hard to believe a Canadian team hasn't been able to get the job done for the 30 years since... Hoping for all of Canada's sake that the Oilers make history tomorrow night and at the same time break the Canadian cup drought! I'll be watching from Melbourne, Australia... Taking time off work to watch LIVE.... LET'S GO OILERSSSSSS!!! 🟧🟦🟧

A team that embodies relentless determination and lightning-fast agility, never backing down and always outpacing the competition, when their backs are against the wall. Yeah, they're legends in the making, win or lose.

    I used to drive school bus in a small town forty six years ago, and would drive a charter bus from my small town taking people to watch the Oilers play in the Coliseum... Of course I got a nosebleed free seat, and I had never seen nor heard so many people cheering and yelling as I watched Gretzky, Coffey, Semanko, and the rat pack play teams from all over.
    Small town farm boy, I was actually thinking of Samson and the whole place falling down and getting crushed by the cement roof, and it freaked me out, so I prefer watching the playoffs Oilers for once getting past the Kings... bought the Connor McDavid jersey, have two of them actually, would like a Leon D and Zach H and a few others... but yeah, I am in hockey withdrawal, like there is only one chip or one pizza or one Pepsi left or one M&M left... and oatmeal and water will be so bland after this amazing Oilers comeback from everything... it has been impressive, amazing and they have already won in my honest opinion and eyes...Well done management and players, if only they could get over the ONLY PLAY WHEN THEY HAVE TO mentality and build a Trump wall at their blue line and kill off three periods like they kill off two and five minute penalties shorthanded and get some DEFENCE when they are one goal ahead, that is all you need to win the game.

    60 hard miles are all that separate this team from becoming the stuff of legends. It won't be easy, but I don't see this team storming all the way back from from 0-3 to lose it in 7. They're putting up a full team effort from the special teams, to the depth, to Stuart the enforcer coming up clutch when they need him most. The panthers look absolutely defeated, but they're not out yet. That said the oilers have picked apart their weaknesses and are using their strengths against them. I don't know about you but I can't wait until tomorrow night. LFGOIL
