Great video - can you expand the timeline (eg put the individual videos back into layers after you’ve done a rough multi cam edit? Because I have multiple audio files people using lapel mics so I have to go back in and blend the Audio between speakers

Having a challenge...a 3-camera shoot where one camera was 4k and the other 2 are 1080, so in the multicam, one needs to be resized (scale to frame size) but I don't see how to do that in the 3-camera grid as I get ready to switch in the sequence. Sorry if that's confusing...basically I'm wondering how/where to size the clip properly.
Also, one of the cameras didn't have clear audio so the sync of the clips is off. How do I manually set the sync point so all 3 match?
Do you have any tips for getting your sequence to run smoothly? I'm editing a sequence that has only 3 cameras and it will start smoothly enough but then start dropping frames etc. for no reason. I have a fast computer with 40GB of RAM so I can't see how hardware could be the issue. I'm sure proxies would help but I would like to avoid that step if I can.

I am planning on creating a Worship music video of my 8 year old daughter who really has a gift for music both piano and vocals.
I am thinking of using 2 i-phones, and an i-pad to record the overall shot of her doing the verbal intro, and then keyboard, and an angle from the backside of the baby grand at church so you can see her expression while singing..
This when done will be a gift actually for a dear friend who just suddenly lost his wife.
I am hoping I can get the 3 songs which are about 5 minutes long each downloaded to my Dell computer.
That might be the first trick I'll need to accomplish.
I'm a mechanic, not a geek, so I'll struggle.
I'd like to send a private share to you when I get some of it done.
You will be blessed by a little girl who genuinely loves The Lord!

I'm currently struggling using Multicam in Premiere Pro. Even in a recently tested strong desktop (Xeon 28 Cores, 64 gb Ram, RTX 3060 Ti 8 gb VRAM, SSD), playing back, cutting and selecting cameras in a 3 cam 2 audio recorder multicam secuence is a freaking nightmare! Super slow response (about 10 seconds to play or sift when it doesn't forget to, every time I make a cut this happens, just imagine how many cuts and how much lost time every time I need to play back or sift through the multicams), the computer specs barely budge, just unresponsive and extremely laggy, and if I need to edit a 2 hour weeding documentary edit, this is total trash. Seeing forums, all they say is update and a bunch of weird workaround which are 7 years old, I have already done and did not work, and while updating Premiere solves some issues, you get new ones all the time. Being able to see your cameras at the same while selecting them is essential for my workflow, but now that this is happening, it is just unworkable. Is anyone else having this issue? Please help! For the time being, I am switching to Davinci on my next project.

I have a bit of a convoluted question. I shot a DJ set (4 hours long) and need to edit it. I have gopro, drone and additional 4 different cameras. The gopro and the cameras recorded audio of course. Only 1 camera has a continuous 4 hour shoot. The other cameras shot shorter clips (several minutes) of the gig.
I'd like to select all of the other cameras and attempt to have Premiere sync them to the audio of Camera 1 (the longplay one). Is it as simple as creating a multicam clip like you did or am I screwed? :) Thanks

Has anyone done a multi-cam edit with 3 cameras where the audio of 2 microphones goes direct into one of the cameras? How are you handling that audio to cut with Multicam? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Yo, new to premiere pro and got a super newbie question. At the point of selecting all my files to create a sequence and sync audio it said it could not sync 1 or more files. Anyway around that? Or even after I manually added my clips to the time line then selected all to synchronize the synchronize options was grayed out. Could really use your help. Thank you in advance.
Wonderful. Question. We have 2 cam shoot, audio recorded both. Both are on their own tracks. "Spanned" Clips are not continuous. PP won't sync! tried cam 2 clips on mulitiply tracks. No sync. Tried both cams clips on their own tracks. No sync. Now, nested both cams, got to MC window, but NOT in sync. I've been editing since 90's, teach editing at school here. This is co-worker problem, trying to fix, and come up with work flow for this. Thanks. AC

Hi. Have started for the first time using 3 camera multi angle editing. I looked and watched some online and came out more confused than when I came in because every time a tutorial is done., most of them seem to miss steps and we then feel «naked and afraid» (Excuse the pun...)
Even the smallest step can throw one in the deep end. It’s like calculating 5-degree angle 2 feet away, isn’t much but in space 5 degrees is huge.
Your tutorial thus far is simple and works fine, however, I have not been able to find anywhere a tutorial on the following.: 3 camera interview shoot - A few B-Rolls were filmed to be inserted ?.... Are B-Rolls just inserted by overlaying the track on the timeline or???? Would it be possible to make another UA-cam Tutorial? I don't usually write comments and, as a result, I don't really know how and if you answer, where can I see the answer? How do I make direct contact? Or is that not possible? Thank you in advance.

I can't switch camera view even i have clicked the "overlay" button, when i tap "1/2/3" in my number pad, it shows my number on the playhead position. May i know anything i can do?

Dropping the 4k footage in at 100% and then zooming out to 50% does not work (it gets cut).

My edits aren't taking. I've done it successfully before on other videos, but on this recent edit, the numbers aren't creating cuts when I press them.
My problem is I have 2 interview angles plus like 10 b roll shots, is multicam still useful for that? I won't really know how to assemble it all until I watch through a bunch of times.
Hello, what if. on my first cuts is I have different camera angles.. then I've decided to use the Camera 1 only and I have 50 cuts applied to them all. how do we do that? Thank you in advance.
What if I have one camera on for 1hr during church on a tripod one angle, and a second camera to move around, but this second camera will be on and off throughout the church, how will I make this camera(tons of clips) fit the camera A footage if I won’t be recording all the time on that B camera? I hope I make sense.

I'm new to this. So when you add the proxy is that before you edit and it so would the quality go back up to 4k when you've completed the project ???

You should have deleted the empty tracks in video, so you would not have so many black boxes and would see the videos bigger.
There is sooo much left out of this video! After creating those first cuts.. I would think they are really 'rough' cuts, how does one go about fine-tuning those cuts?

whats the right way of Multicamera editing, when should we change the camera angles. What looks good and what is the exact idea of multicamera. Assuming we using 3 cameras, front left and right and its two person interview, so should we follow some pattern or random cuts ?

Great tutorial .. so with a band or similar or recording someone doing different things in the studio do you need to say record each part all the way through with same audio so synch works or can you have say whole song with say 2 vocal angels and somehow just do say acoustic gtr for 2nd verse but get it to synch still. I tried something with scratch but clearly wasn't loud enough even with gain said it couldn't synch so I want to try one more time. Thank you

how about for clips that havent synced up properly and have been added again to the end of the sequence? can you manually sync them up to the rest somehow?
I am starting a One Health Video Podcast series. This tutorial helped. My biggest problem is that there are multiple clips per camera as there is a record limit on my dslrs. How to edit faster when there are multiple cameras and multiple clips.
Thanks for the great tip about using Proxie to speed up the process with high resolution clips - this is an easy way to be able to use those files....

hi, how may you suggest post-editing the entire project if I need to shorten the whole video length how should I do so? It keeps the entire clips in a nest... how can I get it to normal editing mode back for the purpose of shortening the final length of the video?
Oooh! Just finished a project yesterday with a three camera setup. I was completely unaware of this capability. I stumbled on a tutorial for multi-camera work and then found you. Wow. What took me a whole day for a sad and simple production of a video (it wasn't hugely important) would have been less than an hour with this technique and capability.. Thanks.

This was a fantastic tutorial! Thanks so much. The only thing not working for me is having the clips sync with each other so perfectly after clicking on "create multi-camera sequence". I have to slide different camera angles around on the timeline manually to match each other to the audio.
