What types of multi-cam sequences are you putting together; podcast, interviews?

I have 3 cameras on a race car so for the first time I'm working on a multi camera composite into a single video. At this point my question is, once I have the multi camera sequence how can I edit that for example to cut out dead space where the race had been stopped for a period of time?
I normally like to color correct and sharpen each video clip separately so you're tip on how to do that will be a great help.
      Thanks!

Brilliant stuff! Love the breadcrumbs. Adding corrections before nesting is a great tip. I edit a lot of stage cams and they all have different lighting and exposure. Many thanks.

Love your breadcrumbs approach to make source corrections when needed. I knew that N turned on the rolling edit tool, but I appreciate how you called it Nudge to make it more memorable. Also love the idea of making a copy of the source view before flattening so you can go back and make more edits. Finally, making additional nests to make your PIP overlay as an additional camera is a great tip.

Could use your insight on some multi cam issues I can't figure out.
    1) My camera cuts long clips into shorter (10:00) clips so the main camera on a 12-min interview has 2 files. Do I need to join/nest those into 1 clip before the multi cam process?
    2) My B cam was accidentally set on 1080 instead of 4K so in the sequence window it was the wrong size. At what point in the multi cam setup process do I correct that?
    Thanks!

Assuming you're in premiere? If so, You can butt the two clips together on the timeline (no need to nest) and as long as your audio is in sync, you should be good.
For the 1080 on 4K, you can upscale the 1080 clip by right clicking on the clip and hitting "Scale To Frame". Should fill the frame up.
Once you get these two things down, you should be able to complete the rest of the steps on the MC.
      Good Luck!

@@RobertMTeegardenyes, using PPro 2023. Appreciate the feedback. For some reason when I follow those steps the new sequence that’s created only has one of the video tracks so there’s nothing for me to switch back-and-forth between. I will go back and try to follow your video step-by-step, because it sure would save me a lot of time if I could multicam edit it. Thanks for the excellent video!

Thanks for the advice. Do you know a way to keep the color of the clips' labels in multicam clip without having to make a flatten?

This video is by far the most valuable for me. There are a few things that went a little fast but basically very good. I have a question though. I have 3 camera that were shot fullscreen 1080p I want to add a different background to each one by making each camera size at 75% one a 50% and one at 30%. Can I make a (I'm not sure if this terminology is correct) nested sequence of each camera ahead of time (or even be able to adjust sizing or cropping later if need be) with that background and size and position? I want to be able to do a multi cam switch with all those settings. Is that possible? Please if so can you make a tutorial or point me in the direction of one that perhaps you did. Thanks so much!

Yes, you’re basically creating a new timeline with that set up, nesting the entire sequence into one nested clip and then copying it back into the sequence. I’ll be doing this for a podcast soon. I’ll try to recreate this and share.

@@RobertMTeegarden Got it!! After messing around I was able to figure it out. Thanks man! I was able to create multi camera views on different backgrounds, different sizes and crops and nest them as a look with only using one camera. Very easy to do now.

I have two cameras that I know have matches. From mayor keeps telling me that they can't find a match. I broke one of the clips audio into mono then tried to multicam sequence and it worked. I have no problem with polarized doing this. Do you know why multicam does this from time to time and reference to not finding a match when it clearly is
