    Good info. How do you decide what pace you're going for when the weather isn't "optimal"? So, if in optimal half marathon weather I plan on 1:45, if the temp is 25c or higher I already know I won't be able to hold that 1:45 pace. But I don't know how to calculate what I should be targeting. Any thoughts (video) on this - basically, how to calculate pace adjustments for training/racing with hot and/or humid weather.

    Can you enter a 5k road race not to race but to use it as your 5K time trial?

    Best way to learn to pace your race is to volunteer at an event as a pacer. Forces you to concentrate on what you are doing and not get carried away when the gun goes off.

      @@dliedke Your mental strength will do little when your legs give out.
